Excellent write up. Made me want to hear more tho. Greg has one of the most unique "Live your Dream" story in our generation. IMO.

I love this bio, really puts a personality behind that name tag that we will see in many tournaments to come.

It also must be pretty neat to have the feeling that thousands of people around the world are a fan of YOU and not just your play

(Also) someone please make a cereal guy comic of the "IdrA could have a girlfriend!" line, i would but i always ruin them haha

i actually really like IdrA, he seems like a smart gamer yet also interesting and willing to respond to questions with interesting answers. Granted i don't agree with some of the BM but no one's perfect
watch the wall collide with my fist, mostly over problems that i know i should fix

Sick article imo. Thanks for sharing!

I remember being pretty pissed back in 2007 or w/e when idra was the one that got to go to Korea. He wasn't really considered an absolute top foreigner or anything at that point. I couldn't have been more wrong.

HOLY CRAP! It's about time a pro gamer said that. This is what bugs me the most about HD and Husky. When I first started following SC2, I listened to their casts. Over time, they have grown to be just (IMO!) casters that want to make a quick video and get views. It really irks me that they cast these stupid games and give the players bad images to make a quick buck, but like Idra says, they need an excuse to draw viewers. And now that I think about it, Psy has been doing the same exact thing HD and Husky are doing. Yay... Another caster trying to make a quick buck posting shit videos. Time to unsub from him as well.

Edit - I know people are going to attack me for saying "Why shouldn't they make money?!?!?!" I'm not saying they shouldn't. I'm saying they shouldn't post shit games that defame players just to make a quick buck. It's just stupid.

Great article, really. I've discovered a new aspect of a gamer who is sooo overwhelmed by clichés, and I'm pleased of that, even if it's not really an objective description of IdrA.

The content of the article was good, but it was very distracting reading through the many typos and omitted words. Things like "Greg lost in Round 32" instead of "Round of 32" and "lost to fellow player Jonathan Walsh" instead of "lost to fellow foreign player Jonathan Walsh" really affect the readability of it.

I also think it's funny how in this article Idra says that most South Korean progamers have no personality (professionally speaking) which is borderline annoying to him, when at recent events (MLG Dallas I believe?) he has said that personality is irrelevant.

Really interesting to read about when he moved to korea, as I didnt follow the bw scene and well didnt knew about any thing of all this awesome stuff for 13months ago its really interesting to hear about why he decided to go etc.

The photos were nice and Idra's answers were interesting, but man, the editing of that interview is horrible. Direct quotes from Idra are mixed up with descriptive fluff text without an easy way to distinguish the two, weird column divisions, all those brackets... really hard to read.

I guess that's the DTP'er inside me speaking, though

I believe his stance has always been that, fans shouldn't care, but at the same time he acknowledges that they do, and if that's the case, then having personality is better.

NaDa comes up to me at BlizzCon and says "Long time, no see", so it has lost it's impact.


I'm sure IdrA is the only person who doesn't quiver like a little girl talking to her crush when he is spoken to by NaDa.
