- Your thoughts on making the round of 8?
I failed to get out of my group in 1st so I had to commit a teamkill today, so I am sorry to Supernova. I am sorry that I had to do that, but since Supernova is a great player, I am happy that I was able to come out with a win.

- How did you prepare?
I share a bunk bed with Supernova. So, I tried to wake up earlier than him for practice, and we both practiced on opposite sides in the practice room.

- Did you predict aggression with hellions in the 1st set?
With my scan, I saw that his starport was a bit late and the tech lab on his factory was running, so I assumed that a marine/hellion attack was coming. Also, because we spawned close by air positions, I was able to use the build I prepared for this map. I was a bit lucky.

- When did you know you had won the 2nd set?
I thought I was a lot more behind when I pushed out in the middle. But afterwards, I knew I could take the game.

- You made it into the round of 8. Has your goals changed?
In my mind, I want to keep winning. The future will tell if that will be the case.

- Who do you want to face in the round of 8?
Nada. I want to get some revenge because he knocked me out last season.

- It will be another teamkill.
I think teamkills are OK once you get to the round of 8.

- What do you think about the 1.3.3 patch?
I think it will be tough to stop early gateway pressure from protoss. Outside of that, I don’t think there will be large differences.

- Any last comments?
I want to say sorry once again to Supernova. I also want to especially thank TheStC for helping me practice a lot. He will be out of the military in 3 weeks. Expect a lot from him once he gets out. I want to say thanks to everyone else who helped me practice. I will try to work even harder for my next matches.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 8?
I am really happy. In the 1st set, I was more nervous than last season (in the round of 16). I don’t know what it was, but I am doubly happy since I was able to overcome that nervousness.

- In the 1st set, Genius played a pretty even match.
He moved his forces in a pattern that I expected, but his early game defense was really good, so I was a bit caught off guard. Afterwards, I think I was able to win because I fended off his attack using bunkers.

- Did you expect DTs in the 2nd set?
I studied up on stopping every build possible.

- This is your 3rd season in a row in the round of 8. The round of 8 seems to be the end of the road for you. Also, it is a teamkill this time. Your thoughts?
That kind of jinx is something you create for yourself, so I try to get out it. When I hear that kind of talk from people, I try to let it come in through one ear and go out through the other. I will be facing TOP, but in some aspects that is a good thing. I saw his games and he was very good. Therefore, I will practice hard for macro oriented games. I will try my hardest to win.

- Your usual relationship with TOP?
TOP helped me greatly for the recent round of 32 match against Marineking. He is someone I have trained with for a while so we both have a feel for each other’s style and strategies. He will not be an easy opponent. He is a good junior.

- TOP said that he would get revenge for last season.
Pros will be pros so I expect that neither player would go easy on the other, so I hope that both of us will play our best to win.

- You are often seen with hot packs for your hands, don’t they get sweaty?
I was a bit hot in the 1st set. So I went to the restroom and washed my hands in cold water, so my hands became pretty cold. I will be more careful next time.

- What do you think about the 1.3.3 patch?
I think early gateway pressure from protoss will be pretty scary. Everyone will need to scout more carefully for that kind of play. Blocking 4 gate will be much easier, but the early game will be still pretty dangerous.

- You goal for this season?
My current goal is the round of 4. I’ve said this before, but I feel pretty good this time. My grades at school have been suffering a bit recently, so that just means that I’ve put a little more time into these games. I am going to focus a bit harder so I can make the finals and win.

- Any last comments?
I want to thank my oGs family for helping me practice.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 8?
I was able to beat Polt who I consider to be a good player in a tough set of matches, so I am really happy.

- Your concept for today’s games?
I thought about using thors in the 1st set, but I went with a more safe build. I scouted with a reaper after my expansion, and luckily I was able to find his factory. I would say, today, I generally played a more standard style.

- In the 2nd set, it seemed as if you were ahead, yet you yourself didn’t think so?
I caught a lot of scvs with my hellions but I lost a few myself, and my opponent did such a good job stalling that I ended up thinking that I was in a bad position.

- How did you prepare for the 3rd set?
That was a build I use often on the ladder. It’s a build that is hard to stop even if you know it is coming. Also, he went with a fast expand after 1 marine so it was hard for him to stop it.

- Who do you want to face in the round of 8?
I don’t really care who advances, but I feel like Alicia will advance.

- Any reason for your recent success?
My teammates have been helping me a lot, and the practice atmosphere is really good so I think that’s why I am playing well.

- Your goal for this season?
Definitely to win.

- Who do you think will be your biggest obstacle?
The two that I originally thought would be that, have lost. So now, I am worried about either Nestea or July.

- What do you think about the 1.3.3 patch?
I think it will become harder to stop protoss early gateway aggression. I think it’s a patch that is good for the protoss.

- Any last comments?
My teammates in code A have all lost. But now, the team practice method and atmosphere have become better so I think we will show better results in the future. I want to thank choya, Won-Jong, and kasyu for coming and cheering for me. Also, I want to thank everyone in my team who helped me practice.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 8?
I am happy because I was able to clear a large hurdle.

- Is seems possible for you also to become royalty (of sc2). (**I believe the interviewer is referring to his teammate Mvp’s nickname in Korean Jeong Jong Wong instead of his regular name Jeong Jong Hyeon where Wong means king)
Let me see if I can finish my first goal before that. We can talk about that after I win a championship.

- Your concept for today’s matches?
I thought to myself that I will play as I usually do. I won almost all my matches in practice so I basically took it easy and played like I would in practice.

- How did you prepare?
I practiced against Seed. I practiced and studied builds with him so I gained a lot of confidence.

- In the 1st set, what was the reason for your attack?
I wanted to be aggressive, but it seems that I was able to get the victory right there.

- Did you predict that he would go void rays in the 2nd set?
I thought that he would, and even if he hadn’t I wasn’t that worried about that possibility.

- Your next opponent will be sC.
I think he is afraid of me when I face him on ladder. So I am confident. To be honest, when I ladder recently, I haven’t played my best. I am playing like I am warming up my hands. So I lost to sC’s cheeses several times recently so if he should think again before becoming too confident against me.

- What do you think about sC?
Recently, he has been ladder rank 1, and other terrans and protosses have also been swapping that spot. But if I really focused on ladder I could probably be rank 1 as well so I am not really that nervous about this matchup.

- Recently, zergs are having a hard time. But you seem to be taking it easy.
I have been lucky and I practice hard so I think it’s turned out that way.

- What do you think about the 1.3.3. patch?
I don’t know if there will be anything good for zergs, but I think I will have to play it to find out.

- Any last comments?
I want to thank Seed for helping me practice with him 1 on 1. A lot of my teammates have lost to Alicia a lot so I am happy that I was able to pay him back for that. Today is my coach’s birthday so I planned to dedicate this win to him, so I am especially happy that I won.
