I'm mostly just a lurker on these forums, but honestly the amount of hate for someone getting onto a team is sad. Between this and the Kelly stuff I'm not sure what's wrong with people. He got onto a team they obviously like him,like playing with him, and think he has potential.
So he gets a chance to game with people get better and potentially play in tournaments. Instead of people being happy for someone getting an awesome opportunity, there are people who belittle or berate him and his new team for the decision.
Give it time if it works out then it works out if not it doesn't and who cares it didn't hurt anyone.

people who dont watch destiny often will most likely think he is bm, bad, and is overall a bad decision by root, but steven has said before that he cares about his image and he has a non-bm side. of course he won't bm in tournaments; he ggs and has good manner in tourneys and stuff, maybe not so much in ladder.
people who have been watching him lately probably have noticed that he has been playing more serious, also i think that he has been losing some viewers because of it; steven has a lot of viewers that watch him purely for entertainment.
steven has potential and he clearly has been working hard... just give him a chance lol

Congrats to both Steve and ROOT. So happy to see CatZ and Destiny on the same team as they both provide really enjoyable matches. The last 2 games of the Optikzero showmatch last night were great fun!

Everyone bitching about destiny not being good enough needs to stop. Root isn't TeamLiquid, they didn't come into the beta with a full roster of proven players. Teams like Root can only be successful if they are scouting for talent and potential, not just going after whoever is big.

I have watched Steven since phase 1 of the beta and his improvement, for someone without practice partners, without experience in tournaments or lans is phenominal, truly he has grown as a player. Having said that the improvement since the turn of the year has been even better, he got some practice partners, got some attention and started veering towards actual practice over mass ladder and the improvement has been superb. I think potential is the right word, he has huge potential now that hes focusing on the game in the right way and this move can only help him.

Hmm. Not sure how much I agree with this. I like ROOT's philosophy of taking players that aren't quite there yet and helping them get there, like Minigun, but I think Destiny is still a little off of what Minigun was when he joined ROOT. Either way, fan of Steven and ROOT so I hope that Steven surprises me in a few months and rapes everyone.

I haven't checked out much from Destiny, but if ROOT thinks he has potential then he must. Look forward to seeing what he can do for them and what they can do for him.
SLush and Catz helping him should be a huge improvement already.
