Now all we need is: - Clan support - tournament system (integrate challonge maybe?) - VOD library (sc2casts.com) - Replay library - direct feeds from leagues (GSL, ESL, MLG, etc.)
Looks like the team behind this update is much more competent than the one responsible with the ladder maps. GJ to those guys.

They're busy and lasy to improve something new Really? Blizzard just went pretty far out of the way to do a major, and exceedingly sexy UI overhaul, purely for spectator purposes only. And yet you say they won't modify it further because they are lazy? Really?
I for one think this looks amazing, and think it's a pretty big step in the right direction.

What an awesome feature I love not being able to see anything at all in the game because it's covered up by stats!!!!!

Hope that we can move the new frame anywhere we want like someone said like this :

it takes up the screen even as an obsever but i guess its more for big tournaments so lots of people can see it clearly. i would wish they make a custom gave save so u can replay games and not have to worry about lag issues when lag happens.

that's so good for commentators... I can't wait Artosis using that hehe

This is a pretty nice change. Hopefully the casters get used to it fast and we can see it for TSL 3 hopefully!
This game will get more and more features as we go. Just gotta be patient.
Can't wait to try this out in reviewing my replays as well.

Excited to see these changes in use, they'll really give that professional shine to any cast.
@ tug-o-wars in lower area: this totally works with the normal UI in place too!

Pretty cool. LAN would be better. Just saying,
But it is cool to see Blizzard upgrading things like this to make the spectator sport aspect of SC2 more attractive.

Is it just me or does it seem that no self-respecting live observer will ever use the Ctrl+W function to remove the bottom UI as it removes the minimap?
What would the community think about it removing the buttons and the building/unit info panel but leaving the minimap?

Should be able to host replays for multiple users at once.
|
Very nice!
I just hope they include an option of an onscreen ghost mouse / keyboard when in vision mode for a player like I suggested just after the retail release, but I can only dream.

But it is good progress in the right direction! Keep it us blizz.

Looks sexy as hell, if only they would add shared replay viewing.

This and perhaps some more statistical information about your games like Win ratio against each race and map statistics. Those Observer features are very nice I am wondering how often they will get used in the pro leagues.

Pretty cool! A step in the right direction. Long way to go though.

does 1.3 have support for hosting replays?

this is so great!! Going to help commenatators so much with this additional help!!! Will be able to to see someone massing units quickly and pick them out!!!

These are some cool features that will definitely help out in a lot of the smaller tournaments that can't afford to put a ton of production into their games, and even some of the larger ones.
While this is undoubtedly cool, I really wish they'd spend the effort on getting out multi-person replays, as I think it would behoove a lot of tournaments more, as there are a lot of tourneys who don't stream live (online tournaments, TSL, etc), and if you use more than one commentator, it's a nightmare to get everyone synced, and keep them synced without this system. Besides the fact of course the social aspect of watching replays together.
