The League Format: This is a league. I can't put on a jersey and shorts and start playing in the NBA, and similarly players can't pick up a mouse and keyboard and play in this league (except for the Open). We want professional players backed financially by teams. Our aim is to make SC2 a truly professional sport. there are actually good reasons for this. quit using this garbage analogy. maybe you don't even know why it is a good reason, but either way this comparison isn't as valid as you think. if you are really nice i'll tell you the good reasons, otherwise you'll just have to think for yourself. edit: guess i don't have a question here. lol. how about...why do you equate nasl with nba? is there any real reason to do this rather than treat it like an individual sport like golf, tennis, MMA, etc..?

Whilst I don't personally agree with the five per team rule regarding teams, I do understand this one and it was addressed on SOTG. If I recall correctly, and I don't speak for them, Russel and InControl said something along the lines of... a team makes a player accountable, it gives them insurance amongst other things that the players will fulfill their expectation. Imagine a tournament where you plan 4 games per night and every so often 1 of those games doesn't happen due to a player, who is not on a team and therefore unaccountable, just not playing it/sending in replay. That is just one of the reasons I can think of off the top of my head. It will make teams rethink how they want to structure their team (rather than mass recruit players, they actually look and judge talent appropriately) and hopefully bring some more professionalism to the scene, which is something I look forward to.

Interesting reddit thread going on, essentially incontrol asked for a restream of GSL, he was directed to huko's stream in which they were talking about whether or not incontrol was actually fit to be the face of NASL, which resulted in a perma-ban for huko (which is now reduced to a temp ban) for "restreaming / being a huge prick" Huko's explanation: http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/frqvb/this_is_the_face_of_nasl/c1i4r32 Screen shots: http://i.imgur.com/Q5dsy.png http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/4629/10843172.png

Just to be clear I'm not suggesting incontrol should be taken off the nasl. Oh and I'd just like to add another voice of disagreement with this 5 team players rule. Can't wait for this league to start tho!!!

It's not really the fact that he banned someone, has more to do with the fact that he think's he is too famous to pay for gsl, and he is supposedly a supporter of esports and attempting to become the face of NASL. Im also not sure on the legitimacy of this but from reading the reddit thread some people say he was also watching a HQ restream while streaming and running commercials. I think its one thing to not pay for premium GSL but its another thing to profit from it.. :/ Here's the comment http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/frqvb/this_is_the_face_of_nasl/c1i4rkm

I remember movie stars losing sponsorship from Coca-Cola when caught drinking Pepsi in public. I know it is not same but is it kind of similar. Before anyone says it: I am not trying to get Incontrol fired with this. I just hope he gets his act together.

But as for the face of NASL, I think he suites it, he has great commentary, great knowledge of the game and is pretty witty, people just seem to dislike him on a personal level, probably brought on due to STOG, but NASL is different to that, it is just commentary, he isn't talking about the state of the game. Going to give InControl a chance, he isn't a terrible caster by any stretch, certainly not bad enough to somehow doom a league, I mean, he casts GCPL and does a pretty stand up job, people just need to stop being so bitter

Invoking Godwin's law as your very first act of defense is pretty weak. Let's see where this all is going. Pretty sure we need more context to judge it properly, but it'll be interesting what Mr. Inc has to say.

It's not in any way derailment. The title of the thread is [Q&A] Official NASL Thread, not discuss what your highly valued opinion of how things are done when organizing an Esports event are. On topic... I asked earlier, but the question got lost... Since there is bound to have matches between European and Korean players, how will the inevitable lag be handled? Can this be avoided if the game is actually hosted by a NA host?

Actually a FACE of NASL was caught watching an illegal restream of GSL and streaming it on his own stream while his commercials were also running. THAT is big. Dude, it isn't even that big at all, he was on skype with Idra and JP talking about the games, you could barely make out the commentary and video from his stream of another stream since he had the volume lowered and would never full screen the video, and he also publicly apologized on STOG for re-streaming. He also runs commercials after every game, think that was more out of habit.

I'm so confused by your logic that this isn't a big deal just because it was in shitty quality. Does this mean that I can stream myself stealing from a store in low quality and then have it not a big deal when someone complains about it? What are you ON dude?

Get off your moral high horses and gtfo. Sarcasm can't be read online and clearly incontrol was sarcastic about his higher than mighty comments. Yes everyone thinks the president called him during the SOTG... wow. Question: Can we all thank you for the effort you guys put into this ? Thanks !

I have to agree with this... I'd take LIVE matches over quality any day. It's much more entertaining and exciting to watch a live match then a simple uploaded video. Hell, that's what youtube is for. I pay for GSL because occasionally, I'll stay up till 4 and watch the Koreans. There's no way I'll be willing to pay for content that can't be watched live, simply isn't worth it.
