I really don't see why blizzard would have a problem with this. But honestly if blizzard bans me for changing my background, I'll just go back to counter strike.

damn, really wish this wasn't at risk of a ban. with everything blizzard needs to fix otherwise, i doubt theyll implement something to change the picture soon.

Here is my first attempt. Thanks to Teliko for being so patient and not losing his rag with me. As you can probably tell, my photoshop skills still need some improvement, but I'm very happy with this effort. I think I just have to learn how to tweak the shading a bit. Feel free to use this in your own save btw! Great to see everyone enjoying this new customisation method =)

I had an account banned on war3 because of this after like 6 or 7 months. Oh well, maybe they won't care for sc2. I'm not doin it tho!

As so many posters have already said. People who did this in Warcraft 3 got banned. Its really not worth it guys.

I don't know why this thread is still up. It's going to end up with innocent people possibly having their accounts banned for no good reason.

you just got the standard answer when you ask anything about modifying game files.
like i said, this might not be giving an unfair advantage but i can assure you now that ppl got access to the files someone WILL do something to make it giving them an unfair advantage.
That is how it always goes in stuff like this.

They probably don't (besides for being against TOS which is bad enough for a justified ban), but it would take way more work on their part to let people play with modified files rather than just banning them all, even if the changes were harmless.
