how stupid is that? wow... This is a professional competition. I would appreciate it if westerners with e-sports ambitions present themselves in a marketable fashion that promotes e-sports rather than reinforcing existing stereotypes. Korea is the big time, it's not a bunch of awesome euro nerds going to a regional LAN. This includes washing their face, combing their hair, and dressing marketably. Jinro, Idra, TLO, Nony, and Ret understand this (Ret has learned a lot since his days on Estro). I think Huk understands it too, except for the looking like he bathed part. I also wish his hoodie would have the TL logo on both sides if he doesn't want to just wear a t-shirt. And lose the pillow, HuK's like the Linus of TeamLiquid with that pillow (I say that with love!) May I also point out that I suggested Socke because I think he's a great player. So he's got the hard part (talent/results) down, just needs some finesse. =) GL Socke! I completely agree. I'd also like all Westernes to mimic Korean interviews, replying with interesting comments such as "I'll try my hardest to become champion" and "I have practiced a lot for today and wish to please my fans". If we're to present foreign players to the Korean scene they should be obliged to act with discipline, similar to the Roman legionnaires.
Consider for a moment if the front line of an organized Roman army suddenly stopped bathing and grew their hair out. They would fit right in with the stereotypical Gauls, being no better than the barbarians themselves! If e-sports is to grow in the foreign scene we must do what the Romans did, look at what happened when they started recruiting stereotypical barbarians as auxiliary troops, the whole empire split in two.
I believe you're viewing Socke in the wrong perspective, he isn't a stereotypical American gamer, but he's a Germanic tribesman, likely a high chieftain or warlord. We couldn't have Koreans believe that us Europeans are nothing but undisciplined hordes of true warriors, now could we?

i'd say PiQliQ. hes a really strong ladder player (he's number 1 on the ladder atm) and i think korea could really take his cannon rush to a new level, and perhaps add some diversity to his play, such as banshee/marine/raven 1base push or bc+scvs rush

For me
whitera QXC Tyler Huk
( i would say morrow too but he is not interested so...)

lol you think the frontlines of a Roman army bathed and cut their hair? Sorry to burst your bubble but most of the roman frontlines were mercenaries and not part of the Roman standing army, the real army was too precious. Even then, they shaved their heads because lice were rampant back then and it was more sanitary, if it wasn't for lice they likely would have had long hair... just like everyone else did 2000 years ago before the invention of hair dressing salons. You have been watching too many movies my friend.
I'm sorry but people can dress however they like and not bathe if they wish..... they are there to win, i dont care what they look like while they do it. Professionalism doesn't mean gettin a hair cut and wearing nice clothes, it means acting and speaking in a particular manner and performing well.
I am a proffessional musician, I wear clothes that are deliberately scruffy and have holes cut into them, my hair is long and I rarely wash it (because it goes fluffy and looks very not rock). Never once in all my dealings with promoters and club managers have I ever been told or heard thru the grapevine that people thought i was unprofessional because of how i present myself. They judge me based on my music and how i deal with people. Granted its a little different but I manage my band myself, I deal with important people in suits every day and dont feel the need to dress up nice just to get a gig, they will want us for the music, not how we look.

Huk-very likely the best foreign protoss. he did fail to qualify for gsl 3 but im not sure how long he was in korea before hand. Now he has been there for a while and he is certainly better. He is one of the few foreigners i could see making it to code S very quickly. kiwikaki-a very good protoss. very aggressive and fun to watch. i don't pay attention to the europeans at all really =(. so i don't have a valid opinion on who from europe should go. i do think you should invite 2NA and 2 europeans.

Perhaps the reason he's been slacking is that he's been too busy telling his friends and fans how desperately he wants to go to Korea rather than focusing on playing and improving.

Maybe he is busy geting his visa to korea, and preparing in RL for a move to KR...

My vote goes to..
HUK. Besides that, I don't care - there are many players who might deserve it.
The reason I say HuK is that I was very impressed by his game vs Nestea which was shown on Day9's Dailies. This calm and methodical play style shows how much he has grown and how much he has improved lately. He has come a long way from 1base-toss to a macro player who can take on some one who won a gsl.
That is why I say: HuK really deserves a spot in Code A.

Lol, no. BratOk beat both Naama and TLO, but then he had to leave and couldn't play any more, so they let Naama and TLO play to decide who was going to advance in his stead.

ah okay, looks like some serious dedication to me right there

You have no idea what the reason behind that was, so don't talk shit.

Why are people even suggesting people like Tyler QXC and Grubby? They obviously cant go so why even suggest them.

PiQLiQ, i wish he was more active in the community he is a very strong and unique player

i actually found that really funny hahaha i have yet to see piqliq even participating in a tournament (he might have though i have no idea) let alone do well in one, so really everyone voting for him is going solely off of his success on ladder, which is completely different than tournament success obviously.
i think huk definitely should get another shot at code A for sure, he would be my first pick out of everyone. his first attempt for qualification was shortly after he arrived in korea and theres little doubt that he has improved since his first try.
