Can someone please stop these 1 post people from posting tons of votes for ukranian players in this thread. I don't think its helping. Isn't making multiple accounts against the TOS?

wow... the previous page(s) is filled with one-post users... - -d PLEASE GOMTV, LAY DOWN THE LAW ON THIS!

Hardly breaking any rules assuming they are all different posters. Not like TL hasn't done similar things with SC2 votes on G4TV for example. Why care? :/

But judging from today's code A game.. Every top EU/US player is worthy of Code A. It's not like Korean top pros > Korean pros > Korean scrubs > Everything Western. More along the lines of Korean top (MC and the lot)> Western and Korean pros > Rest.

I'd say Nony but he's said over and over that he's staying in the US. MorroW or Kiwikaki perhaps?

+ Show Spoiler +
Or Dimaga, he'll fit right in with the Korean metagame

the difference is with the g4tv, it was sc2 community vs the community of other games; win for sc2 is a win for us. here however is the community screwing around with itself. not to say that i don't love brat_ok, but the way they're spamming tl is a shitty attempt at getting him the code-a spot, imo.

Of all the reasons for MorroW to go to Korea IEM Cologne really isn't one of them :|

Lol

To all the people freaking out just because of a number of new users voicing their opinion, it's not like John/GOM would blindly tally up the number of 'votes' in the thread and choose someone.

Make a valid argument for who you think deserves it and leave it at that...

It seems like you've confused "new users voicing their opinion" with flagrantly obvious multi-account/spoof account users. I'm new here but even by just perusing this thread I've been able to (quite funnily) spot a large number of obvious fake accounts. People have a right to be angry with rule breakers - unless of course you have solid reason to believe that each and every one of these "Russian Federation" accounts just so happens to be a unique, new individual posting on TL with conveniently similar post content (re: I vote for BratOk). Yes, John probably won't be conducting a tally here to decide who gets to go, but nonetheless crap like multi-accounting is just plain irritating (and it detracts from the integrity and appeal of the forums in general, in my "newcomer" opinion).

It just looks like the Russian community mobilising their support, since I doubt GOM visited their forums with the same kind of thread.

If GOM did this on the Blizzard Forums, or any other gaming forum, I would expect a large number of users here to sign up and voice their opinion if someone posted about it here.

The mods would be able to see IP addresses, so I am sure they would be able to deal with any multi-accounts

Think this response sums it up:

And the second. Many of you have mentioned above, that someone gave the link to this thread on one of biggest Russian cybersports related resource. Actually that was me, who did that and here is the case: i, myself, only know two places where one can vote for the player, who deserves to go to Korea and play on the next GSL season. These are this thread and the thread on the gomtv.net forums. Both places are very unlikely be visited by the majority of Starcraft 2 fans, who does not know English well, that includes Russian people too. That is some kind of a problem, so i, with my fellow comrades ;p decided to give it some polite, and we hope, non-aggroing solution.

Below here is some kind of statement to GSL representatives, wich is translated to Russian and reposted on the resource i mentioned above, there also step-by-step instructions, of how to "sign" to it here, or vote for BRAT_OK on GomTV forums.

Hello.
We, here, represent the part of Russian community, which is big and heavily interested in what you are doing. We all are watching for GSL games throughout the livestreams, and for the growing of SC2 players and community in South Korea. The Starcraft 2 game is very popular in our country, and we do have very good players here. BRAT_OK is the best Russian player now. That’s why we are voting for him to be one of the four invited players.
He is well known, the former SC:BW player, who showed more than nice results there, and also competes very well in SC2, all the way from the beta-test. His appearance on the GSL scene will attract massive attention not only of Russian fans, but also the viewers of the whole CIS region. But the major fact is that he is heavily motivated progamer, with a great skills and nice, unique playstyle. He deserves to go to the GSL, and we all are rooting for him

Ok now that you've shown me that/explained yourself I've decided to change my mind. I agree with you and no longer support what I said above. Cheers.

I vote for BRAT_OK. Presence in the GSL this player is a huge incentive to watch this tournament through the Premium Account.

Where does it say it is a "vote"? - It doesnt.

Your discussion will provide valuable feedback

The people who have registered and voiced their support for Brat_OK havnt discussed anything, their input is so pointless that all it does is get in the way of GomTV attempting to interact with the foreigner community, it detracted from a debate that might provide any useful conclusion. That said, even without such posts the value to post ratio of the thread would be pitifully low.

Definitely Huk,
QXC maybe,
Haypro too perhaps,
Kiwikaki pretty obviously.
Can you ever argue in favor of something without first proving it?

Not sure if I posted in this thread already but:

Huk, just look what he's already doing out there. So fast.

Kiwikakki: Brilliant and creative, some of his builds are just silly good, try them.

TLO: Kinda a hybrid of the two styles mentioned, but playing random now only allows for more awesome plays. MORE GAMES TLO i don't care where you play them, just MOAR.

Why does this have to be a popularity contest? Why can't the foreign community take the initiative and hold a tourny of the best players who would go if they won? Considering foreign pride is on the line I think sending the players who will actually do well is pretty fucking important.

Would be extremely simple, since there is no prize and I guarantee you could find a caster to cast it for free, to get the top 16 foreigners, who would go if they won, put them in 4 groups and basically have a short tourny much like the SCReddit tourny format.

Without something like this we're no better than the BCS!
