Huk Kiwikaki as top 2. Huk is a sick player overall. Could have made Code A if he got into GSL. Kiwikaki micro is as good as anyone else. He can take down anyone with his timing push.
Hayder, I feel like he's been unlucky in GSL and he could explode a bit like Jinro did.
Last pick is tough. Protoss seems to be on the rise and there might not be a lot in Code A so Incontrol is pretty good, top 5 PvZ player in the world.
QXC, Select are solid picks too among who wants the remaining spot.

Every player who doesnt 6pool, 2herp derp rax or 4gate all the time unlike to tons of koreans who are in GSL which is just a shame.
Also GSL must set team league up asap because it will give sc2 solid fundament like SPL.
Why change winning team? If something is good and works smoothly, why just dont try it?
Also if i were in GomTV staff, i rather try to fix that damm laggy, low quality stream instead of looking for foreigner players. Invitation is also kinda unfair to those who worked their ass off to qualify or who didnt make it like Huk etc.
Other suggestion: proper appearence of tastosis. Does sound like a joke, but if you look the commentating staff of scbw and sc2 GSL, you have to admit who looks better and gives you more solid impression. I mean gsl is not a meeting of nerds who makes weekly tournament, but THE major sc2 tournament which is followed by many fans from the WHOLE world.
There are tons of things which have to fixed. The sad thing is major part of these problems could be fixed with some common sense, but i am afraid GomTV is concentrating to other stuff.
Kinda sad if the conflict between scbw and sc2 scene isnt causing enough trouble.
I know I wrote many things off the thread topic, but if you just switch your brain on, this invitational thing is really a bad joke.
I rather help foreign players/clans to settle in korea, but invitation? really?

Don't know if anyone noticed, but GOM is setting up a team house for the invited foreigners:
We want as many foreign players participating in GSL as possible. However, in previous season we noted that many players had difficulty finding place to stay, and therefore we are providing team house from this season. At the moment the players can only sleep at the house but once we have 4 seeded foreigners invited we will also provide computers to practice(The exact date of when the PCs will be available is undecided) Note that the team house can only hold up to 10 people. If you wish to stay at the team house, you need to send a) copy of your plane ticket to Seoul b) copy of your passport to gsl@gomtv.com The first 10 people who sends those copies will be accepted to stay at the house. Make sure you send them after the registration begins(Jan 17th 00:00). If you send them before appointed date and time it will not be accepted.
Thank You
Back on topic, Hayder is an obvious choice. He may not have much in the way of titles, but he's actually qualified for the GSL (though the same could be said for TorcH and Sen). HuK, iNcontroL, SelecT, and Kiwi are all good choices too. I can't say much about the European scene, though, as I don't follow it.

Liquid`Huk, EG.InControl, Liquid`Haypro!
I would add Root.qxc but I think he still has to finish up at Harvey Mudd.
|
If he'd be up for going, Liquid`Tyler is in my opinion still the best foreigner who isn't currently in Korea. So I'd at least offer it to him.
But assuming he isn't down to go, why not just offer it to TorcH, Haypro, and HuK? They're already in Korea and are mostly pretty solid.
|
Why is everyone saying iNcontrol? He's good but if you had to pick the top 4 foreigners not already in GSL, why would you pick him?
He hasn't won anything of significance in SC2 nor has he placed even somewhat highly in any major tournament. There are way better tosses out there.

Huk, Hayder, ROOTqxc, DeMusliM
|
For sure Huk. After that I would say DuckloadRa (WhiteRa), QXC, and DeMuslim. All very talented and have done well in a lot of tournaments. Also a good distribution of regions amongst the 4 also.

You mean something like this?

A lot of people only list players from the US, I assume it's because of the time that this has been posted. Also what's with suggesting players that had stated to have no interest in going? Same goes for people that already had a shot at the GSL.
Who I'd really like to see compete is Socke. For his interesting, yet competitive play.
NaNiwa should probably also get a chance for his incredible ladder achievement.

First off, I am ignoring the players who currently live in Korea who can try out for Code A the "regular" way. I believe that if they cannot place in this type of tournament, why would they get a "free ticket" into it since they are foreigners. I would rather select people who have no way of getting in this way.
Tyler and QXC I do not include on this list because I know that existing conditions for them would not support a trip to Korea in February for a month long. Later on this year, definitely, but not right now. That said...
Naama won Dreamhack. In one of the most well-played final series I have seen in SC2, he won a tournament that featured many skilled foreigners, and also some Korean pros. If that doesn't prove that he should have a spot in a Korean tournament, I don't know what does.
MorroW proved early on that he had the right stuff by taking IEM Cologne, at the time trumping over even IdrA. Since then, he has switched races and again is back in tournaments. But all of this aside, he has shown more than that; he has shown a consistent support for all facets of SC2. A simple glance at his Liquipedia page shows that he has helped the mapping community and spoken out on balance issues. This is the kinda of person I think would benefit most from a trip to Korea, not only for a shot to win, but also to get a feel for when he moves there in the future, which will surely happen.
Socke has had very consistent play, recently winning the ESL Pro Series in Germany. He has shown that he has what it takes to win (and also to keep race balance fair among these foreign invites), and as such has my vote to go to Korea.
I'd be an idiot if I completely ignored NA SC2, and so my last vote is for the recent winner of the ROOT Challenge, KiWiKaKi. Look it up, you'll see who was on the roster, and you'll see how many games he dropped. I think he could definitely make it.
Game on!

LiquidHuK because He's been over in Korea training hard so i beleive he deserves a chance!
and LiquidHaypro Because he has also been in Korea training very hard for GSL as well!

I'm going to list people that are not currently in korea, and going by the Tourny wins and placing (which is what they are asking for)
Fenix [1st IEM New York 2010, top 8 blizzcon, 3rd DreamHack]
White-Ra [1st place HDH Invitational, 1st place TeamLiquid Invitational 1, 3rd place Blizzcon 2010] forgot he is married and most likely wont go Morrow [1st place, IEM Season V - Global Challenge Cologne] Socke[1st place ESL Pro Series Germany, 3rd place MLG Raleigh]
Edit: replace white-ra with MoongladeFXO
didnt say huk or haypro or + Show Spoiler +ret cause they will be in code A on their own merits by this time
