For some reason, every [every!] time I try to build a robo bay, I try to do v-y. I think it's because b-y enables more gateway units, so v-y seems natural to enable more robo units. At any rate, at this point I think it's easier to just switch the key than keep trying to fight it.

i heard you could assign hotkeys that would carry through as long as the unit selected was in your whole control group... such as pressing F without actually tabbing to infestors.. is that true?? or was i lied to

Grid, but after patch will change baneling explode to other hotkey. Backspace and larva ability moved under big finger to two mouse button.

standard.

Changes

tilde = old backspace for home base
Control groups 1-4, and f1-f4, 0-9 optional (the function keys are making shit so much quicker now.)
f5 = idle worker.


i am REALLY liking it. I also now play with the hotkey overlay on. I know 95% of them but there smaller enough not to be distracting so i might as well have them on

I am Terran player btw.

Since I am just getting back into the game after a 1 month break (thanks wow) I am going to be changing up some hotkeys most like backspace and a few higher tech options, maybe burrow/unborrow.

I know this sounds weird, but I'm going to change metabolic boost to G. M is a weird hotkey and all the "first" upgrades, Roach Speed, Hydra Range, Infestor Energy are all "G" right now and it'll just make things more consistent.

I think I also want to switch the Melee upgrade from M to like "X" or something, but that might be weird as then it's physically switched on my keyboard, but I often make that mistake in ZvT accidentally upgrading ranged attack.
I always try to shield slam face, just to make sure it doesnt work

They're already created new unburrow hotkey.

I've actually been considering binding the current backspace key into G. I usually hotkey my queens as 5 and my hatchery as 6, so I think doing 5gvgvgvgv might work well for quick injecting.

I'm considering buying that new razer keyboard with buttons under the space bar and add control groups there... I dunno. Either way my keyboard sucks I need a new one, and THEN I'll think about redoing hotkeys.

I plan on changing the camera rotates (Ins, Del) to F1 and F2 to help with blink micro.. it's too difficult for my 70 APM to grab a slice of stalkers, when they are positioned diagonally, the way things things are right now.

Try Shift+Space. You need to hold shift for the mass inject procedure anyways, and your thumb is right above the space bar since you had to press V to inject.

I also set Space to be an alternate for attack move. This makes it possible to 1a2a3a from a more comfortable position (I always shifted my hand in such a way that the right part of my keyboard would become less accessible as I was controlling my army. I'm still not used to this change, but it does feel very comfortable and should make it much more comfortable doing stuff like injecting larvae during battles.

For the recent event button, I set that to Control + Space.

Other changes I made:

-Control + WASD to scroll the camera around
-F2-F5 as alternates to 7-0. On my laptop keyboard, these keys are directly above the normal number buttons so this is very comfortable for me.
-All upgrades set to ZXC similar to how the grid is setup. I have trouble remembering the hotkeys for these, especially if I'm playing my offraces. Even if I do remember them, they can often be awkwardly positioned
-Ultra cavern and infestation pit alternates set to C and F
- Patrol alternate set to Q
