Is it legal in a tournament/lan environment to change hotkeys using blizzards interface? Is it legal to play with or without sounds? Is it legal to save replays? Is it legal to see enemy build orders after matches in score screen? Is it legal lock on flyer helpers? Is it legal lock on health bars?
etc
Please, stop that "Is it legal..." questions. If blizzards give you interface, then use it and dont ask stupid questions

I'm definately going to be implementing all my hotkeys to the qwer/asdf areas. Probably keeping most default as I play random and I've got a lot goign in my head. "I" is definately far away..
A bit off topic. Has anyone ever tried to learn to type with a differant keyboard layout eg. Qwerty-->Dvorak? I did that for a month one time just to give my brain something to think about, and I don't think I remember it at all, although I'm sure it'd come back to me very quickly if I tried to learn again. I was able to get to 60wpm with completely differant layout in almost no time, it's mostly muscle memory and repetition. Dvorak keyboards basically hold all the typing speed records, windows will allow you to change your layout, but make sure you pay attention or put the layout onscren, because your keys will still be labeled qwerty!

i will add | to my ctrl hotkeys (the key on the left of 1) will be very useful

Definitely the F keys. After replaying the Starcraft 1 Zerg campaign, I realized how essential they are.

immortal to E, preigniter to E, move command for vacs/ravens to F

I plan on using mouse buttons on g500 for some hotkeys, probably for groups. The third button on the side I had to rebind in the setpoint software to 'j' key, that way I can bind j within SC2 to another command, it's probably going to hold queen inject.
Tilde`~ of course I'm going to try hatch scrolling

I placed Group Hotkeys 6-0 on F1-F5 to make it easier for me to hit them without moving my hand from the Grid.
But i used the TL method anyway before to change hotkeys; so its not new at all; its just that Blizzard finally gets that changing hotkeys is the most basic stuff in the galaxy and has absolute zero connection to "unfairness".

I'd love to learn to type DVORAK but I've been using the antiquated standard for so long - if you can convince me DVORAK being better for gaming I'll pick it up. I know its AMAZINGLY better then QWERTY for typing.
So sorry I didn't quote bubble the person who had the picture of the queen and the left/right space + inject button but that is brilliant. I may try space/backspaced on the mouse. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3868/69800717.jpg

I think there's also a DVORAK for left hand which clusters the most commonly used letters near the left hand. Basically, this optimizes for 1 handed typing rather than for both hands. Somebody who uses this could probably type more quickly in chat while playing compared to using the conventional layout.

any one know if you can change capslock to control>?

Can't rebind the functions of control, shift or alt.

Haha, this DVORAK seems to be an annoying layout, never seen someone use this to play.
Would be intresting to see if thats really somehow faster or easier; as it seems its ment to write faster, but should have no clear effect on Starcraft or ?

The history of QWERTY typewriters is that they were designed to SLOW DOWN fast typists because the mechanical typewriters simply couldnt keep up and would jam too often.
So the reasoning behind newer keyboard designs like DVORAK is to remove these antiquated shackles because they are no longer needed. The problem is that we are so used to QWERTY and its the first keyboard most of us learn to type on.
Though its speed gain is through better placement of vowel keys/commonly used consonants and that isnt really an issue with game controls so It shouldnt make any difference what layout you have when playing games except for the times when you are typing words.

the single most important one for me is to change Hold position to S and Stop to H.
I changed a lot more things, but that is the one i really think is most important.

'backspace' will become 'spacebar', mainly for larvae inject so I don't have to move my hand. Everything else is fine to me.
|
Warp prism's transport mode to e or d immortal to r backspace to spacebar
if I can think of anything good to map them to, the hotkeys 6 - 0 would be better elsewhere.
|
I think I'll change probes to P so that I make use of that 0 key and free up the 4.
Also I'm sure that LANs will allow reconfiguring hotkeys, but it'd be a pain for you to go around and do it on every computer you're on. Also if you forget one then you could end up in trouble.

Oh god, I second this. Too many times have I went to inject larvae, only to find out that I accidentally made a creep tumor right at my base.

change metabolic boost , overlord speed and zerg melee attack to "E"
