The great thing about Husky's casting is that he makes the game fun to watch even if you don't know anything about the game. This is huge in my mind because it provides a portal for non-players to get interested in the game and interested in watching the casts.
I personally got into SC2 because an old friend sent me a link to some of Husky's casts during the beta. I didn't know any strats or anything -- in fact I wasn't even in the beta so I had no ability to play the game at all! -- but the casts were entertaining and hilarious. I actually looked forward to the next Husky cast coming out because they are genuinely entertaining.
If not for Husky getting me into the game, I never would have paid to watch GSL, I never would have paid a guy to coach me, I never would have spent money to sign up for local tournaments in Calgary, I never would have watched a ton of pro streams and VODs. etc. I no longer watch Husky casts but I will always give him credit for kindling my initial interest. And I bet there are literally tens of thousands like me.
And the video is pretty funny imo.
Edit: facial hair not such a good idea Husky!

no he isnt husky loves this and so does totalbiscuit
but for relevence to the thread this is by far my favourite SC song it is so sweet, even if all these homophopes hate it because it doesn't have woman, if your comfortable with your sexuality someone elses actions should never put u off. If your disgusted by this song or think it's gay you really need to look at yourself because it shows you may be hiding some latent homsexual feelings you have.
great job Husky looking forward to the next nerd alert song

This should read as: The thing about Husky's casting is that he makes the game fun to watch if you don't know anything about the game.

I think a funnier video would be of the person filming this.

That's not what I said... What I was trying to say is, if you know anything about Starcraft you will not find Husky entertaining anymore. It's obvious that he just says the first thing that comes to mind when casting and puts zero effort into his analysis of a game. It's like watching Dustin Browder and Robert Simpson go nuts in the "StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Battlereport 1" back in the day about obvious and basic things except 90% or what Husky say's is just wrong.

Thats a question I would like to know the answer to as well. Not really so much to know what Husky makes, but just to know what someone with 400k+ subs makes in general. Regardless that man has earned it. Take this video for example, and bane-lings for that matter. Husky is pumping out very, very high quality material and is excellent at co-ordinating with other talented people. Getting together with Layne Pavoni, Kurt Hugo Schneider, getting a lambo, a pro-editor etc... That is just smart business, and he deserves every penny he has made.
Husky and HD are a huge part of why there are so many other casters out there: They see the success, and they want to make their own casts. Therefore the casts, and the music videos are amazing for the Starcraft 2 community. More attention/views leads to more monetizing, leads to more pros, events, sponsors, etc. In the end, the Starcraft 2 and Esports fan wins because they get more high quality content to enjoy, as more money gets pumped in.
I want to see more songs and more music videos, and when the first Nerd Alert album hits, I'm buying it. If some of that money goes into Husky's pocket, good for him. I will say that, I hope SCV Love Song is the only slow jam. I recommend that Husky take his time making each song to ensure that it is catchy and fun.

He´s taking money from google (or whoever) thanks to people subbing and watching his vids, so basically google (or whoever) sponsors starcraft. But I guess that´s bad because you don´t like Husky since he doesn´t only cast all the time not asking for anything in return and he´s not 3,5k diamond. Husky’s fans strike me as the same group of people who believe the U.S. invaded Iraq because of WMDs. Take some advice from me kid anything involving money is never as simple as it appears on the surface. This is the best thing ever made and anyone who disagrees has either never played starcraft or has no soul. I have never felt such feelings about a starcraft unit before

i liked the video? (as in staying on topic in reality i did like the video :D)

The hatred, bile and trolling is a real blight on this community and a reminder that there seem to be a lot of angry young men out there.
The video and song is homophobic. But freedom of speech means the voice of the minority must be protected, even if what they say or do is wrong.
Moreover the video seems to be a 'joke' or just 'a bit of fun'... but sadly that always seem to be the rationale in excusing such behaviour. Its very juvenile, but that is exactly the target audience it is aiming at. So in that sense its a winner.
Being called a 'fag' constantly on battle.net is a daily occurrence. It is also littered throughout the starcraft community on forums and chat rooms alike. Its a very sad indication that our societies are still so ignorant and intolerant towards their fellow human beings.
Professional players using such language don't help either. There's no other professional sport in the world which would tolerate such behaviour. But somehow in esports its accepted as norm.
For esports to be taken seriously at the highest level a serious change in thinking has to occur.
As a Google/YouTube partner, in the top 10 partners for Czech Republic region, I can tell you that you don't actually make that much money from it. Moreover making money from someone else's copyrighted materials could also be seen as plagiarism. But I am unsure what agreements and or arrangements have been given from Blizzard for people to create revenues from their content. having worked in the games industry at a high level I would suggest that allowing casters to make adshare revenues is worth it for the exposure they give to the game.
Just my two pence.

People get upset when people who they think have no talent are successful. I followed his videos when I first got sc2 but watching other casters made me realize that it was just that he had rally good games to cast. He's not very funny, IMO, and I got tired of his constant plugging during the first 5 minutes of every game and his questionable commentary. Day9 won't even let people send him a goddamn hard drive. He only plugs himself to win the shorty awards. It's not very hard to realize why some people are upset.

I disagree. I know pretty much all the analysis that casters will make during a cast, so my #1 is the caster keeping me interested and actually making me care about the game. When casters try to analyze, it's stuff that I already know or they're wrong sometimes.
