THANK YOU SO MUCH! My entire goal in life is to ruin the metagame on the ladder. I'm SO happy I made you do it :D.
Most epic song ever. Will play at my wedding and funeral.
Well with the Day9 endorsement above the song has reached #81 Top Rated on youtube this week. So I'd like to thank Day9 and TB for sending people in it's direction along with everyone else that posted this on facebook, reddit and wherever else people came from to hear it.
Also for the people that don't like rap. I understand that perhaps you would like a SC2 song in the genre of your personal preference but until someone with that talent comes along I'm afraid you're stuck with the rappers and the music from Kurt.
Alright, firstly I'd like to apologize to the people wanting the Jinro song.. I've scrapped it due to a few things that I'd rather not discuss. However, hopefully this makes up for it.
The instrumental is taken from Ice Cube - Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It.
Lyrics are in the youtube description. Subscribe, rate, comment and all that stuff.. Also if anyone wants to make a video for it, as always just send me a message.

I kind of agree with this. sorry mate but rap is out of my taste.
thank you for this informative and valuable comment. the op is surely grateful to know what your taste in music is. good constructive feedback and good grammar, an excellent post!
Don't bitch about it just because the genre is rap. Nobody gives two flying shits whether or not you like rap. The OP put a lot of effort into it and I think he did a great job. :D
I love rap and I really like this song! Very nice job man!! For next song I request you to do something with the beat/instrumental from "No remorse" with Necro. I think it would fit you very well, peace G.
Damn, I take my hat of too you, alot of these reference songs tend to sacrifice lyrical flow for the sake of more stuff, this actually works really well.
This is from someone who generally despises everything rap.
Well, the original song is completely sickk, and the instrumentals here fit to your flow perfectly. Really tight stuff and that is not even considering the SC2 references, which are of course golden. Big thumbs up, man!
alot lot lot of talent.... i would think about a whole kind of mini album feat. different songs and i think if you remain this kind of qualitiy and polish some stuff a bit... you could make a bit of money as well ...
funny how a whole sc2 subculture is growing and expanding all over the place

About as informative as "OMG this is amazing" its all subjective, everyone is allowed to post their opinions, even if they are negative.

Yeah man, what the fuck. People in here dismissing a whole genre of music :S
Well to be fair many people who don't like rap said they still like that song. if the OP overcomes a genre objection from some one that's actually a pretty good compliment imo.
I'm not particularly a fan of this kind of music (I would have preferred a faster-paced song) but it definitely did a great job encompassing Day[9]'s Funday Mondays!
This is really well-made, really nailed the vocals. Great lyrics full of references too, I really enjoyed it, hope day9 listens to this. Keep up the good work man!
Man, some of you guys really need to broaden your music tastes.
Why would you automatically hate an entire genre of music? There's good and bad stuff in every genre. You're really just limiting what you get out of music when you hate something by default.
Even if you don't listen to or like Rap, it's more poetic than any other form. Not to mention that if it was metal, the lyrics wouldn't even matter since you couldn't understand it.
Tool is my favorite band and rock is my lifestyle, but hiphop is where expression is best kept.
Just my opinion of course, I'm just giving my answer to 'Why Rap?'

This... I used to be in the same boat but that was when I was like 12. People need to actually sit down and give genres outside of their normal listening a chance and learn to appreciate them.
i like it. except that you scrapped the beat from some one other. if you like, i can supply you with some beats. but this wont be the oldschool hiphop beats.
After listening a few times to the original song and the day9 song in comparison, I actually prefer this, the groove of the loop just fits so good to suspense's rapstyle, its ridiculous. So far its my definite Nerdster-Rap highlight

You have to remember, a lot of people on TL.net these days are ~12 years old

I think its about the kinda rap ppl heard when they grew up. personaly here i heard only this "gansta rap" where if you listen to the lyrics they either brag, insult or repeat the same thing over and over. Stuff like that just makes you shy away. I slowly learned to appreciate it but i doubt i will ever enjoy as much as like say orchestra.
Oh wow, I didn't expect such a rough vocal when it was a fan-song, but that sounded great! Loved the song, and it'll probably stick inside my head for quite some time! Keep it up, this was amazing!
Also; loved that you actually used Ice Cube's instrumental, such a powerful beat (do something with Why We Thugs)! :D
Not to mention that if it was metal, the lyrics wouldn't even matter since you couldn't understand it.
What the fuck.
Think this is what he's talking about;
I mean.. what the fuck is he saying 99% of the time? He just makes a soar throat sound and blurts out a "Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawhhhhhhh" every now and again..

Saying that metal is that is like saying that rap is gangsta rap.
Not to mention that if it was metal, the lyrics wouldn't even matter since you couldn't understand it.
What the fuck.
Metal was the first genre of music I found myself really passionate about. It even inspired me to learn to play guitar. And I agree that the lyrics really do not matter in metal. More than half of my entire musical collection is metal, yet I do not understand/remember/know even 50% of the lyrics in most of the songs. Metal to me is primarily about the guitar and drums, the vocalist is another instrument for additional depth.
edit: great work OP! You actually rap really well.

They're not important, but you should be ablemto understand the vocalist. Unless it's death metal but that is garbage.
you guys seem to misunderstand that rock music is harder to produce than hip-hop. All you need is a computer for the beat (in this case the beat was borrowed) and a microphone to record. To make a rock song you need musicians who can play their instruments very well. I'm not sure how original the tasteless song is (because you can't find instrumentals of rock songs) but I'm sure it took more time to make than this one so all you haters should just shut up and enjoy the song for what it is. Who cares if it's rap? It's talking about something you like, open your mind for once and enjoy it.
So in this case the creator did a good job with what he had, if he was limited on musicians then this is a great alternative, A+ on the song.
now can we get off the subject of what genre of music is better than the other? seriously you'll never win that argument, music is a personal experience and you like it or you don't. Stop pushing your view of music on everyone else, you'll never win that battle.
Why does everyone feel the need to express their opinion on rap as a whole? Nobody gives a shit. The guy's obviously got talent and did something for the community. Don't turn his thread into rap vs metal or whatever you're trying to do.
Who's voice is this? His flow is actually good. I was expecting some lowly nerd with no real interest in rap music but this guy actually seems to have some talent.

Thanks again everyone... for rating, and pressing favorite.. It's climbing quite well and with a little help from some of the bigger people in this scene hopefully I can achieve giving Day[9] a song worth the name.
I think rap is good. It's basically the modern form of musical poetry, however, gansta rap really bothers me. The manner in which it talks about women, family, drugs, etc are all very negative. Negative songs are ok, Negatives songs that are obviously intentionally offensive are bad. 90% of gansta rap songs fit this category. For example, linkin park is depressing, but they have a few rappers (not a rap band), but they never intentionally call girls "whores" or talk about perverted sexual crimes they want to commit.
The same problem used to exist in skateboarding before it became mainstream. Stakeborders were sterotypical lazy, potheads, and looking for trouble. Then tony hawk came in and cleaned it up. Now skateboarding is an interesting sport and the negative stereotypes are mostly gone since a lot of kids were inspired by tony hawk. I can't think of a gangsta rapper that is a good influence on kids.
Whats with people posting their opinion on the genre of rap...The track is good and proper. It's a SC2 song on a SC2 board. Keep your musical taste off TL.net.
I mean.. what the fuck is he saying 99% of the time? He just makes a soar throat sound and blurts out a "Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawhhhhhhh" every now and again..
If you want to hear what he is saying you could look up the lyrics...
Extreme pain is what they need to feel for the rest of their lives Misery and Despair leaves thier souls when infinity ends
Let them taste the wrath as the agony consumes them Swallowed by the darkest light a blackened state of dismay Survival is the only thing left for them This grievous revelation is a new beginning Led to the solution against their will
Deprivation thrives as the therapy continues Sullen mastery is an answer uncontested denial is the only thing left for them life as they knew it is a distant memory Scores of victims lust for apathy
make them suffer While they plead for cessation entirely demoralized and close to mass extintion damned to please supremacy the reason for their martyrdom they will never know
make them suffer while they bleed through damnation Begged for retribution before meeting with demise cursed by animosity once chosen for this mad ordeal there is no escape
( solo: Pat O'Brien )
domination reigns supreme the evil has no end spent of all their energy now worthless and degraded slow death is the only thing left for them physically and mentally devoid of dignity languished immortality
make them suffer While they plead for cessation entirely demoralized and close to mass extintion damned to please supremacy the reason for their martyrdom they will never know
make them suffer while they bleed through damnation Begged for retribution before meeting with demise cursed by animosity once chosen for this mad ordeal there is no escape
make them suffer forever
You can hear the words pretty clearly and obviously if you look at them while listening to the song. I can't really understand the majority of the words (Though I can definitely pick out quite a few) but to be fair I can't really catch everything that a clean singer is saying either, and CC's vocalist in particular does not have a very clear screaming voice. Not to mention the lyrics of the song are pretty complex: "While they plead for cessation entirely demoralized and close to mass extintion damned to please supremacy the reason for their martyrdom they will never know " Yeah ofc I won't know wth he's saying...
Listen to a guy like Devin Townsend who has a relatively clean screaming voice. Tell me you can't understand ANY of the words even if you don't listen to death metal frequently.
As for the Day[J] song, tbh I don't like it. It feels really uncreative, even though a lot of the references COULD be funny, they seem all forced so the author can say "Look at me I watched the last 10 dailies I'm such a fan". Not to mention the music itself is a 3 second loop of a piano hitting some chords with an uninteresting drum beat behind it, and the voice itself sounds like the guy rapping sounds like he has asthma and was recovering from a deep cough or something. Normally I don't mind the music behind the lyrics for all of these Starcraft songs as the point of the song is not to be musically original, but damn those piano chords are so grating on my ears after 1 minute.
And who actually gives a dang, wether people here like rap or not, you're a rapper and that song is your personal dedication to the man himself in your own style. It's brilliant, thx for sharing!!!
because its better then pretty much any other genre of music. Rock is a close second but metal, trance, etc are all way below rap
Thats a matter of opinion. For my personal taste I really dislike rap, metal-rock and any of its kind, trance, dance, techno and all what they're called.
I prefer melodical songs, like most of U2's songs to mention a band.
I use to hate rap like many in here are mentioning but i found another whole side of the hip-hop genre where the lyrical content is a lot more real along with darker and more serious production. Definitely a possibility that a lot of the haters in here would like some certain hip-hop and they just haven't been exposed to it. I am an elitist when it comes to music as well.

Im not completely sure what youre trying to say with your post, its kind of going in two opposite directions. You know absolutely nothing about rap if you think its only a computer and a microphone, you absolutely need instruments to play. My favorite hip-hop producer ever, J.Dilla, played the bass on the intro track to Common's album, "Be" and, despite using a lot of vocal and musical samples, got people to play their own instruments on his tracks. For example, he almost ALWAYS had ?uestlove from the roots do the drums on his tracks. Oh, and ?uestlove is from a rap BAND, where they all play theyre own instruments down to the guitar and keyboard.

That's just like, your opinion, bro.
I used to hate rap when I was like 14 too, but I grew over that. IMO it's pointless to hate on a genre as big as rap, since there's so many different styles, and it's also pointless to post about that hate on the internets.
Anyway, this song was amazing, I think it was the best song related to sc2 so far
