When I play with not so skilled friends we end up facing bad opponents and with one 4:4team we went 3-2 and ended up in bronze. So 1:1 rating seems to play a part in atleast the placements. But I have not played enough games to see a trend in the long run. However I heard about people getting stuck in low bronze and only playing really good players in 1:1 too so it might be that bug if it's still around. Apparently it had something to do with copper being removed. The op should learn his ally some buildorder or atleast a cheese so you can win atleast a few games. EDIT: I'm learning a newbie friend to 7zd on hunters in bw.

skip to 6:15 It's initial bootstrapping for the early matches, ie. if you and your partner are both diamond in another team/bracket, you would face harder teams to begin with than if you and your partner were both bronze. You will need to lose a lot more games to get to a lower bronze/silver level

I am pretty well in Diamond, but my girlfriend sucks (lol), so when we do arranged 2v2 we face medicre people and lose. Glad that it doesn't read/modify my MMR based off those matches.

Me and my friends have a 4v4 team, and we almost exclusively now get Diamond players in our matchups even though we are a Bronze team respectively. Our highest 1v1 player is a low ranked Plat player.

Cause it was like this as well On November 28 2010 12:35 Eatme wrote: When I played placements with Jinro (offracing) we faced really good players even after losing. We went 3-2 in placements only playing good opponents and got placed in plat. Exact score and league as well if i recall it right.Me and my partner were Diamonds in 2v2 for SEA (1v1 3v3 as well). All our five placement matches are against 1.6k + Diamonds for 2v2s during our placement for US. It definitely felt odd for us since we weren't expecting it lol.
