I've checked the last 20 matches, not a single match have we met someone under gold and in the majority (13) we've met Platinum teams. So does me being Diamond force our team to face better players even if our team score is useless? Do I really have to get a new account just so I could let her win a few times? : /
Does the 2v2 ranking take your 1v1 into account?

when i try and play some fun games with my noob friends that are like silver or worse, EVERY game we are put vs mid level Diamond players every single game no matter how many losses we suffer even tho we are in a Silver Div somewhat retarded, I think this was a recent change just before the end of beta or something

Clearly the FFA MMR is based largely on your 1v1 MMR to match you, because if you search for FFA's and your 1v1 is low, you get easy opponents, but if your 1v1 is higher, you match vs high 1v1ers in FFA too. Im assuming 2v2/etc is the same.

I'm pretty positive your 1v1 stats come into play in team games, because it sure feels like it.

When you make a new team, it uses your performance in other teams and brackets as a starting point. After that point, though, then your teams are completely separate. Now, as far as whether that means it starts at the highest ranked player's skill level, or the average of all the members' highest team, or the average of the brackets of each player, that's not known.

I play with my cousin who sucks hard =) and play terran. very passive style (like all the platinum players) and reactivity not enough fast. A nice one, as terran, is taking gold expo with PF + turrets.

Interesting, that basically explains this thread without having to call blizz straight out liars. I have noticed that if i play in a "new team" in any league 2/3/4s even the first placement match is VS solid opponents. its happened for 3-4 placement match series. It also keeps placing us Vs good opponents even though we loose all/most of the placements. generally because im trying to win with mass landed viking or something similar. Ether most of the people in this thread and myself consistently hit diamond lvl smurfs that have bought a new acc and are just laddering back up, or blizz has changed the way AMM works during placements, since beta.

i think good questions would be: Did you win any placement matches? What league were the people you beat in? What order did you play them and win or lose? If you lost, how far down did it place you at which game in your placement series? If you won, how far up did it place you at which game in your placement series? MMR is very likely to change rapidly in the first 5 games, and then slow down its growth/decline considerably.

When I play with not so skilled friends we end up facing bad opponents and with one 4:4team we went 3-2 and ended up in bronze. So 1:1 rating seems to play a part in atleast the placements. But I have not played enough games to see a trend in the long run. However I heard about people getting stuck in low bronze and only playing really good players in 1:1 too so it might be that bug if it's still around. Apparently it had something to do with copper being removed. The op should learn his ally some buildorder or atleast a cheese so you can win atleast a few games. EDIT: I'm learning a newbie friend to 7zd on hunters in bw.

skip to 6:15 It's initial bootstrapping for the early matches, ie. if you and your partner are both diamond in another team/bracket, you would face harder teams to begin with than if you and your partner were both bronze. You will need to lose a lot more games to get to a lower bronze/silver level

I am pretty well in Diamond, but my girlfriend sucks (lol), so when we do arranged 2v2 we face medicre people and lose. Glad that it doesn't read/modify my MMR based off those matches.

Me and my friends have a 4v4 team, and we almost exclusively now get Diamond players in our matchups even though we are a Bronze team respectively. Our highest 1v1 player is a low ranked Plat player.

Cause it was like this as well On November 28 2010 12:35 Eatme wrote: When I played placements with Jinro (offracing) we faced really good players even after losing. We went 3-2 in placements only playing good opponents and got placed in plat. Exact score and league as well if i recall it right.Me and my partner were Diamonds in 2v2 for SEA (1v1 3v3 as well). All our five placement matches are against 1.6k + Diamonds for 2v2s during our placement for US. It definitely felt odd for us since we weren't expecting it lol.
