Mod Edit: Typically we don't allow donation drives or any sort of donation link in TL threads. However, we're going to make an exception for Day because he's been with us from the start and has contributed so much to our community and to the Starcraft scene. We're happy that Day has found so much success in casting and we hope to see great things from him in the future. Good luck Sean!

Sean "Day[9]" Plott got a pleasant surprise when checking his PayPal account and seeing thousands of US dollars, received from generous donations from the community. The American caster is grateful.
“ I noticed a thread on reddit trying to organize a mass donation drive to coincide with the special. I was deeply flattered to see people actually offering to send money my way.”
Sean wanted to make his 200th episode of his dailies into something special. That's when reddit's community came up with the donations, which now has led to thousands of USD sent to the all so famous and loved caster, Day[9], who now does not have to worry about his last semester of grad school.
“ Before my eyes were thousands of dollars. THOUSANDS. And not thousands of dollars donated by a handful of generous individuals. The donations were in small increments: 1$, 4$, 10$, and a couple of 15s and 20s. In other words, an astounding amount of people voluntarily donated enough money so that I don't have to take out another gigantic loan for my last semester of grad school.”
Sean explains how the happy news made him motivated, and is now planning for more than the usual five episodes a week of his dailies, most likely having two shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
“ Thank you thank you thank you thank you for being so awesome and supportive. I can't express my gratitude enough”
Day[9]'s Letter to Reddit Hey guys! Day[9] here! Although I read reddit regularly, this is my first ever post on /r/starcraft! :>.
A while back, approaching my 200th episode, I told everyone I wanted to do a special: a day in the life of Day[9]. Even though my time constraints forced a delay, I noticed a thread on reddit trying to organize a mass donation drive to coincide with the special. I was deeply flattered to see people actually offering to send money my way.
Sadly, traveling on the road to a million and one tournaments caused delay after delay after delay of the 200th episode special, so I felt a tad guilty for letting people down. However, I promised myself that it WOULD happen eventually: I spoke to a videographer and an editor to ensure that the episode would have fancy production values and really give people a sense of my day to day existence :D.
As I organized everything for that episode, answered my slews of daily e-mails, prepped for the daily shows, and traveled to tournaments every weekend, I didn't have much time to do much else. In particular, I didn't check my paypal donation page very frequently. As much as I love the image of me F5-ing paypal every 15 minutes while fist pumping and screaming "SHIP THE MONEY BITCHES," I actually derive my happpiness from doing the show, the warm community, and hearing people say things like "you helped me get into diamond!" I'm always blown away by how insanely nice and supportive the SC2 community is.
However, I underestimated how nice you guys really are. My schedule cleared up and I finally got the chance to log into my paypal.
Before my eyes were thousands of dollars. THOUSANDS. And not thousands of dollars donated by a handful of generous individuals. The donations were in small increments: 1$, 4$, 10$, and a couple of 15s and 20s. In other words, an astounding amount of people voluntarily donated enough money so that I don't have to take out another gigantic loan for my last semester of grad school.
I was so happy I didn't even know what to do. Student loans have always been a point of stress for me, and that giant burden was lifted from my shoulders in an instant. I made a thank you in one of my dailies, but that absolutely doesn't do justice to the amazing gift you've provided me. I saw people from gosugamers, teamliquid, and other communities provide donations. But, I know that the reddit community orchestrated the entire drive, and that it would have never happened without you guys. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.
I'm more motivated than ever to keep making as much content as I can. I'm even expanding the daily so that I can do more than 5 a week! (doing 2 on tuesdays and wednesdays hopefully!). As expected, I'm still traveling to tournaments to cover those (Dreamhack Nov 25-28th!).
At the end of the day, whatever you think would be fun on the daily, let me know, because the Day[9] Daily is YOUR show. I might use my face and voice, but the daily has been and always will be about YOU. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for being so awesome and supportive. I can't express my gratitude enough :>.
With that said, let there be eSports! Cheers guys!

Go reddit! I donated a measly $5 his way -- which is sadly all I could afford, but if everyone donates a bit, it can accumulate to thousands! Best of luck to day[9] in his studies <33
Day9 is easily the most inportant person for starcraft 2, even way more important than David Kim or Dustin Browder. If anybody deserved it, that it's him.
Im happy for Sean! And when Sean is happy he will do more dailies and that will make me happier. And btw, Sean really deserves it for all the time he is spending on preparing and actually doing the dailies.
this speaks volumes for sean's charisma and humility. he has always seemed like such an honest, intelligent, and hardworking guy, i'm happy to see others feel the same way
He definitely deserves all of this - both the money and the praise of the community. There's no person who's done more for the Starcraft 2 community than Sean.
He definatly deserved it, after all, he helped me from gold into diamond
I would donate, too, i always have some spare money anyways, but i don't like PayPal and will not register to it _ever_. Might be irrational these days, but well, thats me.
I feel sad and guilty for not being able to send money to him by other means :-/
Day[9], you are very welcome. But just so you know: My donation was for all the superb sc2 content i have enjoyed so far, and not in any shape or form mean as a way to in-debt you into making more content in the future!

I'm thinking ten of thousand at least. Grad school isn't cheap, and if dayJ doesn't have to take a loan out... It'll be a good estimate. Look how many people watches the dailies live. Add to how many watches restreams, if all donates $1 that'll be an easy 1k there. But obv some donated more so that covers those that didn't know about the donation drive.

SlayerS_Boxer got me into the starcraft world.
JulyZerg + Yellow made me want to play Z.
Day[9] taught how me how to play the game
You have to remember that PayPal takes it's chunk of the money, the smaller the amount, the more PayPal takes. Don't know the exact amount, but i think $1 is something around $0.50, $2 around $1.50, etc.
Day9 is probably one of the best things that has happened to non korean esports for sc2. He brings such much attention to the scene and presents it in such a perfect way, he deserves every penny of it. Keep it magestic day, you the man.
well deserved. day9 loves and want to promote SC so much. Honestly I have no clue how he manage keeping up with his schoolwork and doing all this casting/dailies.
however I think 2 dailies on tuesday/wednesdays would be complete overkill lol. The best things in life are taken in small dosages
How can Day[J] can possibly say thank you !? He's the one providing the highest quality commentating regulary for free. He deserved this and deserves more, he's the one helping the community.
I hope he'll be so rich, that he'll have to buy an awesome private starcraft studio in his house.
He deserves every penny of it. Hell , he deserves much much more than he gets.
He's done more for the SC2 community than any ever will do.
Tho , I'm more curious on why he hasn't received a decent sponsorship yet. Here in the east a guy like him would've easily been hired , or at least his dailies show decently sponsored. Are things different in the west? or what's going on?
Also my gratitude for Day[9] aswell. But how come he does look so different in the WCG picture than now :D I mean if i didn't saw this picture before i would've never guessed that its Day[9].
How the fuck can he do five hour-long shows a week, event casting on select weekends, other behind-the-scene stuff, and now potentially two extra shows a week, and still pass school?
im glad that the scII community is so supportive (at least for day[9]), this almost makes up for the huge amounts of trolls and bm'ers that came with the new game. I'm not sure how day[9]'s gonna do 2 eps on any given day though, since he's so busy. It'd be nice to have that, but I have a feeling it might burn him out even more =[.

day9 should make a wishlist / amazon wishlist for Christmas, I'm sure plenty of people including myself would be happy to give him whatever he wants since he practically does all this for free.
I didn't know about the donation drive at reddit, but after reading this thread I donated too.
I don't need a ticket for the GSL season 3 (stupid unwatchable HQ stream), so I had some money left over. Day[9] did so much for the community, it's time to give something back.
Day[9] is the reason why i purchased this game. I was bored at work one day and I came across his dailies. I'm only a bronze level player but his dailies have helped me significantly. It really makes me think about my free time considering he's in grad school at USC and all that fun stuff and can still help the SC community as much as he does.
That's amazing, but Sean deserves it more than anyone else on the planet IMO. He have done so much for the community for free and it was about time he got something in return.
If i wasn't a poor student i'd probably donate to him :/
Im so happy to hear this. I know all my friends ask me: how do you do well in SC? (trying not to boast) and i say exactly this (kinda)
- Watch day9. seriously. WATCH IT you will suck if you dont, honestly he is the reason why i am improving my game every day, rather than just repeating games. (trying to do my day9 impression ^^)
Not to mention i was honored he actually used a game that i played in (that wasnt a funday monday or something)
If there's a person that can make e-sports be huge out of korea, thats Day[9]. This guy is amazing, just listening to him talk about the game makes you love it. I have some friends that dont play sc2 and watch some dailys and tournaments casted by him just because the energy that he has.
Keep the good job sean, so much time doing this stuff just because you love the game, karma works .
I donated BEFORE it was COOL... Just kidding, good of people to recognise and reward all the time that Day9 puts into teaching and entertaining the entire community.
I dont have patience to watch good series like walking dead or dexter, but i watch day9 dailies and sometimes even twice, this is how good he is ... props
Yea Day9 totally deserves to be hired by Blizz....I mean seriously, his contribution to the SC1 and SC2 community is gynormeous, and his casting skills top notch.
Feel almost guilty for not donating considering how many hours this guy has educated and entertained me, but heard its a major pain to send swedish money to the US otherwise i'd defenitly send some. Still im glad there's so many others who did go through with it. Awsome job guys! Never stop what your doing Day9, thank you.

Ok i just watched his Daily 100.I'm a very casual player, i watched GSLs and MLGs which are far more entertaining and interesting than 99.99% of shit you see on TV.I didn't know him very well, just watched a few of his daily casts, and i have to admit i was kinda blown away by his speech.
This is a great guy, passionnate, kind and smart.
Day[9] i just wish you all the best a man can have. You are one of those few guys that make the world a place worth seeing.
NB: his mom seems to be like dreadfully awesome :p
I don't think there's anyone in this community more deserving of such a token of appreciation than mister Plott. Onwards to 300.. and beyond! But at a pace where we still have a Day[9] left after please, we've got time!
That's what you get for devoting your life to esports, Sean. A few ten thousand people that love your work, your passion and your engagement for the thing we all love. Oh, and you as a person, which happens to be a plus, too Big hug from Switzerland, and I hope I'll catch the next big Donation-Action. Carry on, you sir, are awesome.
day9 dailies brought me to youtube back 160 episodes, and after I joined TL helped me so much in my starcraft gaming.
Without chat channels I felt lost without a community, but TL provided that with Day9 being the sun that a lot of the community loves and revolves around.
Day[9] is the only reason I really got involved with ESports. Without his insight and knowledge I would still be a Silver league newbie without a clue. He has even answered a question or two of mine, which really is amazing that someone of such high success and popularity still helps those that are low of low in the community.
To be honest. He deserves nothing less for all the content and hard work he have put in for the community. Gz and I hope people like day9 that work hard for the community get theirs as well
I would like to say, we love every show, we tune in every night, but don't feel obligated to do extra shows because of the donations. I don't want you to get burned out doing too many shows
Holy frickin cow. I cannot believe how insanely nice the Starcraft community is.
I know none of you are obligated to give anything back to me. Your viewership and kind words have always been more than enough to satisfy my nerdy heart. But, it means so much to me that you guys would organize such things without and prompt. It really helps since I am in a bit of a financial tough spot so, as I've said before, thank you from the bottom of my heart .

Wow this really made me smile. LOVE YOU DAY9. I once read in the book "rich dad poor dad" about how giving without any thought of reward will always make you richer. Didn't really take it too seriously but wow this is a perfect example. (great book btw)
Day9 keep kicking ass! You deserve all the good fortune that comes your way!

@ Day9 thank you very much, I appreciate the fact that you provide high level analysis and tips for free. Also I love when you cast games at live events.
Edit; and I love when you speak french in your dailies. Your accent sounds so cute

Firstly I wanted to say how happy I am for you, no one deserves it more. I may not follow it as much as I did (religiously with the few hundred others when you started) but it's still great that your financial worries are being compensated by your fans. Sean you said you wanted to do what your community asks of you to keep it fun, Think you might start covering some brood war matches again? I absolutely love your commentary on games between combat ex YarnC vs Jaedong@ blizzcon and everything else I saw in the dailies I really REALLY miss your broodwar stuff. Lately the games have been crazy and to be completely honest while I'm better at SC2(who isn't) than broodwar now I think broodwar is STILL more fun to watch.

I completely agree, I think it will be refreshing to go back to some bw dailies here and there. thanks for everything day9!
crap if i knew about this while it was going on I would have donated earlier.
Anyways, donated 30 canadian bones.
Seriously guys... if esports is to grow, day9 is one of the strongest hopes. Please please help him... as indicated in his letter, every dollar and every donation helps.
Definitely well-deserved and it's always awesome to see the community come together to help support someone who's really given us so much of his time and effort. Best wishes for your last semester at grad school and whatever else your future holds.
I sent in $20, wish I could send more but my University student budget is tight. For all the countless hours you've entertained me and cheered up my day. 7pm is literally the light on my horizon most days.
You're a fantastic person, which is a rarity to come by. A selfless person who has dedicated his life to a unique passion and making that passion grow into something everyone can appreciate. People as dedicated as you make 7 figures in other fields, but you've chosen something that is underappreciated by popular culture. You've chosen to invest in the future of something big, and something you believe will be big. This sheer passion shows through in every video you make. And for that, I think I can only assume I speak for the masses when I say thank you so much.
So for now, I can only pay $20. I hope one day, you get the full financial compensation you deserve. I like to think of any money we're putting in today as an investment into e-sports future because Day9 is exactly that.
I plan on donating a decent sized sum of money in the near future, Day9 has done SOO SOO much for the Starcraft community so I think this thread was a very good idea.
He has SO many day9dailies out as well as many podcasts and has commentated on so many tournaments I think it is about time he got a good thread such as this one for him.
I'm a bit confused at the moment, when was the donation bomb exactly meant to happen? I was going to donate when he did the day in the life of day9 daily, but it seems everyone has already jumped the gun and started donating?
If that is the case, then I think I'll be sending some money his way.
I am enjoying day9's dailies during work and I can safely say day9 helps me through it, making it a bit less dull. So you sure earned your cut :D<3 day9!
Please take some days off whenever you feel like it, I think you deserve it
I think Day9 is too smart for his own good sometimes! This is coming from a guy who really enjoys what he does. What I mean is that I see his intelligence shine through in everything he does, and I believe he has a "hidden" intellectual side that isn't displayed by all these meanderings. I can see that he pays attention to the smallest things, and is extremely self-referential.
Day9 I'd recommend taking an IQ test, if you haven't already, or let that shine through. I know I saw a relatively small blip on YouTube once with him explaining a mathematical relationship on a marker-board. Well Sean, take it from a soon-to-be professor, I think your value lies in your ability to transfer intellect to others; in other words, I'm saying you're a natural professor, and I believe your IQ ranges somewhere between 130 to 150. I'm not being pompous by this assertion, but I really do like seeing the smart side of him, even when he's "acting" ignorant, he's smart in his mannerisms.
Also, I'm glad some financial aid weight was lifted off. I know far too well of that.
Day 9 is one of the hardest working people for Esports outside of Korea. And you just know this is going to motivate him even more. Keep up the fantastic dailys, I know i find them extremely entertaining.
You get burned out when you do lots of work and get criticised for it, the overwhlemingly positive responses to his work however should keep him motivated in a very healthy and positive way, congratulations Mr. Plott, and don;t forget to prioritise your degree if it comes down to an either or choice, always best to keep as many doors open as possible.
On November 17 2010 07:43 n0xi3 wrote: This is a great story, He has done so much, I just hope he does not get burned out thinking he has to do more then what he is already doing.
I chipped in a couple of bucks on this reddit drive but I have this concern aswell. My donation was for the hours upon hours of entertainment he's been giving me so far, not for any future expectations, I hope he understands this.
God almighty reading this thread is such an amazing way to have a rough day turn awesome. <333 you guys so much holy fuck.
I promise I will take time off and not burn myself out <3333. Around Christmas time, I promise to take a week off and spend the donations ONLY on hookers and blow.
Just made my 3rd contribution to Sean's show, and hope that it'll contribute to keeping the lights on a while longer for one of the best sources of information about the game.

Only the finest hookers and blow for day[9]. Keep up the good work.
Keep up the good work Day9! Love your show and love your personality, I personally hope you could become self sufficient by just doing things Starcraft related, cause I know it's where your heart is.
Edit: Also, thank you for everything you have done to help the e-sports community grow!
+$15 cause I'm too poor to give him the amount I feel like he deserves! I honestly feel like this is the least I can do for him after all the stuff he does for us. <3 Day[9]!
yay warm fuzzies. It's great to see so many people making micro-donations.
As for the idea that Day[9] will expand the number of dailies he does, I hope he can maintain balance in his life. I imagine grad school must be time consuming enough on its own.
I will definitely be contributing to Day[9] soon. He's doing an awesome job for the esport-scene generally, and specifically for SC2. He's truly a character.
Anyone who is in or has been in grad school knows how much the money issue can suck. I hope this all helps out and that you manage to eventually become the esports ambassador of the west someday.
What is Day9 studying in grad school anyway? Just curious how he can pursue a degree despite his crazy schedule. Anyway glad he's getting a lot of donations since he deserves it 100%.

Pretty sure he's studying Computer Science with an emphasis on game design.
This is the most spectacularly generous event I've ever witnessed. I remember back in November 2009 when I was first told of the daily, and I watched it almost religiously back then. I would watch it just as much these days if I had the time. It really is an amazing show.
If anybody deserves this kind of generosity, it's day. He's got the passion and commitment to help make this community excellent completely free of charge, using his own free time. Much respect man. I wish I could donate to your cause but I'm in the same financial situation as you right now Perhaps after graduation when the money starts rolling in I'll be able to spare a bit
40$ when i get a credit card. id easily buy him like 12 drinks if i saw him at a bar lol. only have a debut card though
i feel like i owe him 1000$ and still thats less than 5$ per episode. iv watched since day 1.
edit: day9 you should know that the feeling you get from reading this thread is the same feeling each of us get when we get home from a day of hard labor and tune in to funday monday, the monday which would otherwise be one of the worst days of the week.

You must've read the same book I did: Hookers and Blow: The professional athlete's guide to long-term investing
Yeah I agree with making an exception with this thread for day. The amount of time he gives to the community is amazing and I'm surprised he has time to do the dailies while doing college and playing sc2 at the same time. I would need 48 hour days to do that.
Cheers for Day9 because he is an amazing human being and deserves all the praise we can give. And cheers for the SC community because like Tina would say 'you're simply the best'.
havent known about the donation system yet. now that i know, i just submitted 5$. i mean its not much, but im not really swimming in money. you are really really doing a great job with your dailys and everytime i watch any of your streams or vods i have a big smile of satisfaction on my face. this 5$ mean for me that i will just have 2 packs of cigarillos for the next week instead of 4, so you're not just entertaining me, your doing a good thing for my health aswell
I'm totally and absolutely broke, so I can't send any donations , but I can say that Day9 is the greatest! I've made it from Copper League in the Beta to Platinum now without a whole lot of practice, all thanks to Day9. I know you're reading this thread, Day, so I just wanted to say thank you!

I was getting stomped as soon as I got out of plat and into diamond, and your show was the first thing I found when I looked for help on the interwebs. Now I'm an avid fan, and you've helped me improve so much. You're also very funny and just seem like a genuinely good guy! <3 Day[9]
Holy crap Day9 was hot as hell, I'm a straight male and I want to tap that lol, but in all seriousness glad we can scrounge together some help for this amazing dude. Really did not know he used to look that good /awed
I don't want to donate from my work pc but when I get home I'm going to start a new regime of donating £2 a month to Day[9].
For what he gives to the whole community I'll happily pay that for the information and sheer entertainment value. And because I like to see people live the dream, even if I haven't made it there myself yet :D
Honestly If i had to pay to watch Day9's stream i would. Giving him 5 dollars to have him doing what he does is hardly a price to pay. I have learned 90% of Starcraft from him. I would rather meet Day9 in real life rather than Natalie Portman ( Im sorry Day but Angelina Joline still beats you, but just slightly)
Not only do we learn so much from your dailies, you are an inspiration to nerds everywhere. After watching #100, and particularly the, "There is nothing cooler than being proud of the things you love." After that, (and not just hearing you say it, but realizing that you live it) I let my enthusiasm for gaming in general open up.
I wouldn't say I came out of the gaming "closet," as I've always been a gamer and let it be known, but now I enjoy telling people about the awesome games I watch and play.
At New York IEM I got a chance to meet Day and talk for a little bit, I asked him for a picture and without even asking he put an arm around my shoulder and gave a big thumbs up to the camera.
he should definitely take a break from time to time he could use that time and work on his physical conditioning, it would help with his crazy schedule

Thx day9!
This +10000. That line was, in my opinion, one of the best parts of that daily.
to Day: I plan on donating to you once I get some money, but currently im a first year college student with no job so it might be a bit lol
I've been watching Day[9] since he started his dailies and I am so happy the community is being so generous and giving back to him, as he has been so generous to us. You really deserve it for everything you do (we can only imagine how time consuming and stressful it can be).
I think one of the main themes I am seeing from all of us Day[9] supporters is that you by no means, should feel obligated to give us more then you already do (especially while you are still in school). All of the support you are receiving is not to in-debt you to the community, but in order to repay our debt to you.
Personally I have not donated yet as I am a poor college student myself haha and I don't even have a PayPal or anything... but you can bet I will sometime soon. Like I said I've been watching every episode since pretty much the very beginning so you have provided me many hours of entertainment and education!
Best of luck to you in whatever you choose to do with your future, and remember that whatever that is (eSports related or not), the community will support you no matter what.
If this is to be a monument in recognition of Day[9]'s work, let me express my gratitude as well:
Thank you Day[9], for all that you have done!
Your work is impressive from an educational (teaching), a gaming (knowledge and skill with the game) and an analytical (encouraging analysis and adaptation) point of view and is well-respected by all in the Starcraft community.
This almost brought a tear to my eye (manly men don't cry, they just almost cry). The SC2 community is blessed and proud to have someone like Day[9] working so hard to help the esport grow. Hopefully more good things will come to him.
I get one of those "Destined for bigger things" feelings when watching the Day[9] Dailies. I'm sure a year or two from now, his current casts are going to be hilariously amateur in comparison to where he'll be. Looking forward to it.
Take care of yourself, and keep on rocking the nerd world you glorious bastard!

I've gotta echo this. Sean is such an inspirational person. I was referenced to his show even before playing Starcraft, and he totally got me hooked. I can't thank him enough. As a student, I can't afford to donate money, but thanks to him I'll donate the rest of my life to e-sports in some way or another. I totally support Sean, the Starcraft community, and all of the aspiring players. You're all awesome and my only regret is not joining the community sooner.
However, Day[9] did the most of all. I played Starcraft for fun.I never played Starcraft 1, by a stroke of luck someone in a clan from another game won 25 beta keys and gave one to me. I never did 1v1s since I didn't know how to and was scared. Then I found TL.net and watched my first daily. It was something about protoss strategy, I can't remember what. At the time I was a terran player, however that daily convinced me to switch races immediately seeing how it fit my play style so much better than terran. This was something I never even considered before. I went from non playing to Gold immediately in the beta and now I have just played in my first Lan event and impressed the person my University CSL team uses in pvp with my creative play even driving him to ask me why I'm still in Platinum (since I do custom games and team games more than 1v1s).
If we can pay 20-30 dollar per month to watch GSL/MLG, we can easily help the most important person in the SC2 community to bring us such great content.
I watched random videos of SC2 and found it entertaining, but when I found day9 I got hooked and felt as if I started to understand the game for the first time. He made me buy the game and become a lifelong fan of the game and esports.
As long as he doesnt burn out I want to see him daily, but he should never feel any pressure if he needs a timeout.

Ya, seriously. I was wondering who it was, then relized that was Day9 when he was younger... Damn good looking
Yes, with a new hairstyle, pimp clothes and some better fitting designer glasses he would look like a million dollars. He was a good looking guy 2007, the longer hair does him good.
The real gem is his personality. It feels so lame and perhaps a bit stalker wacky, but I fucking love this guy and really do care about him He isnt afraid to show his softer sides, cuddling with bunnys etc., and the next minute make som joke that would make people blush.
Day9, you continue to be my source of inspiration for aspiration. To help broaden the demographic I am a 15 year old New Zealander, where Starcraft is nothing other than another RTS. You've opened my eyes and helped me realize the power of the community that this game has created. I just watched #100 again, truly an uplifting story. I hope your dream of E-Sports in the West is realized, because you, my internet stranger, nerd friend, deserve it. Thank you.
Day9, since you hopefully read this I might as well post it here.
I don´t know if it has been mentioned or suggested anywhere but when you fly in for Dreamhack you really should stage some sort of get-together in Stockholm. Maybe at Inferno Online (lan cafe) and then let us treat you to some beers and some fine swedish ladies in the Stockholm night life.
Sounds good yes? Make it happen! Just contact some of your swedish mates or just ask around here and we will hopefully make something fun happen.

If day9 drunk is anything like when hes full of coffee that would be an awesome time because his most hilarious daylies are by far when he is full of coffee, #209 I believe?
I hope that you get to meet him at Dreamhack. Wish Australia had any LANs let alone ones that day9 could come to
I had never played an RTS game in my life (didnt really knew what RTS games were about, i had always been an FPS kind of player), untill one weekend not long ago a friend of mine gave me this link to MLG site to check the Halo stream. Once i was browsing through the diferent streams MLG has, as soon as i got to the SC2 stream, i was suddenly interested in this game called Starcraft2 wich i knew nothing about, but the commentary was so good that i immediatly started to pick up on what was going on in the matches during the weekend and really started liking this game, 2 days later i was on a shop buying my own copy.
Thanks Sean Day9 for getting me interested in this game with your awsome casting skills, and needless to say with help of Day9 dailys im already mid-level Silver player, soon getting into Gold ( i hope :D).
P.S: I cannot forget DJWHEAT as both of them make the best commentator duo i have ever seen, and really seem to be good friends, awsome stuff.
Also as said in this thread, SC2 community seems to be really good around here, keep it up TL.
Now all we have to do is get every starcraft 2 player around the world to donate one dollar to Sean and we'll have the first professional Starcraft 2 caster that made over a million dollars in one year =P.
Oh man I hope Day[9] reads this. You are seriously the coolest dude to have ever came out of the Starcraft closet Your enthusiasm is unparalleled, your comedy and knowledge create a fantastic balance to what you do. I believe you have become an inspiration to tens of thousands of people and your fan-base will grow exponentially. Good luck to all your studies! I hope that one-day we will meet so that I can shake the hand of one of the greatest people alive.
Edit: To all those people trying to sell guides and stuff. I have a small idea that you were the one that trained them. When you release a book, I will buy it.
I was totally jealous when he made that blog about going to Arcade Infinity, but Day[9] instantly became the coolest kid on the block when he named his livestream channel striderdoom.
I wish I could donate under the condition that he must spend it in an arcade =P
i have to agree, day9 has worked for free for months on end creating these dailies, that such a donation drive is more than appropriate for his benefit
lots of non-free shows are worse in content quality. seriously. go day9
Keep it up DayJ. You are a good, smart man. I love the game. I was a SC1 player from the day that it came out also, and even a Brood War beta tester. I have never been a great player, but I understand the game greatly and appreciate everything that you do for the community. Never stop! =)
i have such a profound respect for Day[9] after watching his 100th episode it's so good to see someone with so much passion for the game. i'm really amazed at the amount of work he does for the community and never asks for anything more than us just enjoying the game
just want to say thanks a lot Day[9], you deserve this

Student here too. Great thing about things like this is that if each of us poor bastards gives a little, it adds up to so much that it can make his life that much easier :D
Seeing how Day9 hosted Wednesday Night Fights i guess he found a way to show how he apreciate all the donation by using them as kick ass prize pool :D man what a BALLER <3
I would just like to point out the truth depth of Day[9]'s amazing attitude towards the community with this simple sentence:
The community donated thousands of dollars in thanks for Sean's contributions, with those donations Sean then turns around and gives part of it right back to the community by hosting show matches with money to attract the some of the best players in NA.
I am practically speechless with awe at this level of deep commitment to the community. Mr. Plott, when I get my next (first) paycheck, I guarantee part of it will be going to you not only for your previous contributions but for your gracious gift back to the community.
At this point, I'm pretty sure Day9 could announce he was going anywhere in the western world and have someone volunteer to keep him drunk off his ass for the duration of his stay. ... Gotch'a covered in the snowy plains of western Canada, should the need arise.
I really suggest give out more donations to our beloved day9.. if only I have dollars here (well all I have is pesos) I would have gladly donated.. did you see how awesome the wednesday fight nights are?

Wow, I feel like a bum, but I can't donate any money as I'm only a freshman in college. I hope Day9 has a REALLY great holiday Here's to the best caster there is out there, in any sport, ever. Thanks Day9, you're the person who keeps me playing.
Day9 has provided me so many hours of entertainment that he is definitely worth the money. Between the dailies, Blizzcon, MLG, IEM and King of the Beta, he has enhanced my SC2 experience so many times over.
Regrettably I didn't have a clue who you were in the BW era; however, I did watch many of your past famous daily's as well as many of the SC2 related ones. Similarly to many of the people posting within this thread on TeamLiquid, I find you to be one of the most inspirational people I know and it is a goal of mine to befriend you somehow in life.
Your dailies are not only driven by supreme nerdism (I feel like everyone on TL.net can appreciate this) but as comedic value AND inspiration to the lowly players throughout the esports organization. While I had an extreme desire since my elementary school years to game prolifically, I found much resistance to the idea within my family. This resistance caused me to never truly commit to a game I loved and become the best at it.
On another note, the fact that you can balance your Starcraft love with your real life obligations is absolutely astounding to me. You drive to finish your schooling overlapping with your personal desire to commentate on StarCraft 2 pro-games is truly an inspiration and I feel as though many will agree with me.
Don't stop being Sean Plott. Whatever you decide to achieve in life, whether commentating and analyzing StarCraft or some lame "real world" job you have thousands upon THOUSANDS of references to claim on your resume to help accomplish your goals.
Thank you for your indirect inspiration.
As a nursing student I hope to somehow and in someway provide similar inspiration to many youngin's in my life time.
Thanks for your hard work, lots of fun and, let's face it, I'm stealing some of your jokes, expressions and ways of speaking for my own talks at conferences. Thanks again Sean
