Hi TL!
I'm going to my first non-bring-your-own-computer (non-BYOC) SC2 tournament at a LAN event. I am a bit nervous about my being able to get my settings set up as I'm used to from my own computer - especially mouse sensitivity. I know it will frustrate me a lot - and thereby decrease my chances of succes drastically - if my mouse doesn't act normally.
How do you go about this? Do you simply take your time to fiddle with the settings manually until they "feel right" or is there some other clever way? Is it normal to install your own mouse driver software and keep the settings in a cfg-file or something?
Any help or advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Kind regards, Dusim

Control Panel, Mouse, Mouse settings, record whta that is
Go into bnet options, gameplay, record what those are
Done.

Resolution, Mouse DPI settings, ingame Sens and Windows sensitivity.

Alternatively, if your mouse uses its own drivers (like some Razer and Logitech mice) copy the drivers to a thumb drive and install on whatever computer you end up using, then implement your settings.

Thank you for your quick answers.
Blyadischa, could you elaborate a bit on what you mean by Resolution and Mouse DPI setting (or alternatively point me to some resource to learn about it) ?
I assume you mean screen resolution. What will happen if I have all the same settings but the resolution is different?
How do I set "Mouse DPI settings"? Can't seem to find it in Control Panel under Mouse - is it only something you can set with some product specfic drivers?
Thanks again. Dusim

Yeah, a lot of gaming mice come with their own specific drivers, which typically allow you to modify settings like the DPI.
If you don't use specific mouse drivers then that's probably a good thing for you in this situation, as it's one less thing you'll have to worry about when setting up.

Cant you bring your own mouse?

i believe depending on your resolution your mouse speed will change somewhat... Not smart enough to explain it but have 1900 pixels vs 1024 pixels may be different... or at least perceived as different...?
Basically just try to make EVERYTHING the same possible.

from experience, a good tip is to not use any drivers at all (when at home), so when you get there all you need to know is what slider bar your windows sensitivity is on re your mouse. Resolution you can remember easily, ALSO find out what OS the computers at the event are using because iirc the windows sensitivites are slightly different from xp/vista/7 so its worth googling a conversion thing or whatever. If the pc's arent being ghosted after every game, go into control panel and uninstall all the useless amount of mouse fix driver shit cs kiddies will of inevitably installed. GL at dsrack^_^

i just go and turn off mouse acceleration and put the windows sensitivity on 6. and yeah i just get used to it after about 5 minutes.
|
the logitech g9x stores the driver specific settings in the mouse and doesnt require any drivers unless you want to change the settings, so I know that my mouse in SC2 is at 50% and windows is 6 with enhanced precision off.
If it wasn't for the g9x i would just write down my settings on a piece of paper an make sure its set perfect.
