lmao whats with this royr guy? he just keeps digging this whole deeper and deeper.
you do realize, MLG came here to tl.net to ask us to watch their video, we did, we are now expressign our E-opinoins about their broadcast, If you cant handle it, dont tell starcraft players to watch. And definatley dont come in here telling us how to act and who to respect.
oh and, you "MLG PROS" need to understand how niche your little console pro scene is compared to the starcraft pro scene WORLDWIDE. Not to mention console games are still over 9000 years behind computer

Seriously learn your place in MLG and don't complain. I know its hard concept to get ahold of but starcraft is not a big game AT ALL compared to console gaming. Once you can get 1024 people signing up for a live tournament event and a following of a million console gamers you can start complaining, but for now stop being arrogant pricks~
lol some console scrub is butthurt.
You clearly didn't pop your collar high enough this morning.
Seriously? MLG has done the SC community and TL a justice in their ability to connect with our members and allow for us to ask them open questions HERE ON TEAMLIQUID and you're going to give them this much shit about a show that they do for free as a service? Then you're going to call people who have some semblance of maturity a butthurt console scrub?
These guys are giving out 7000+ a tournament for SC2, thats the biggest prize pool outside of IEM and GSL, and now you guys are going to talk like this to them?
Heads up, give constructive feedback at the very least, I'm amazed that you guys can run around here on TL talking to these employees and executives of MLG, who are targetting THEIR audience which is the MLG community. They put Day[9] on the show to give us a share, especially since Day[9] has appeal to everyone, maybe even expanding some of their MLG community into the starcraft 2 community moreso.
But are you guys SERIOUSLY going to give them shit like this post above for a service that MLG does for everyone?
I agree with your points regarding the mindless bashing on MLG. But do you honestly believe his post was in any way related to "some semblance of maturity"? If you think so, then read his second post.

Agreed, all this hate towards MLG is making me cringe. They don't have to pick up Starcraft 2 if they don't want to, they are massively successful and will continue to be so just based off Halo. You guys realise MLG read these topics that they make? Your comments aren't very encouraging to an organisation picking up a new game. Especially insulting Puckett, one of their most senior members of staff.
LOL at RoyR. RoyR's arguement about console gaming : His Argument about PC gaming :: American football to USA : American football to the rest of the world.

Considering im probably better at you at starcraft and halo i really dont think you should talk? Pop my collar high enough? You starcraft kids need to understand how niche you are compared to actual console gaming and FPS in general. Also what the hell are you saying there not representing E Sports? You do know that the only reason Starcraft works in Korea is because of there uptight culture? MLG is doing the best thing possible making a mainstream appeal making it appeal to all people. And it seems to be working with there results and the amount of traffic they get on there forums (5 threads with 40000 replies one thread that before got locked had 500,000, pro team threads every 3 months that get 1 million views)
So yea less elitism and arrogance please kthx
Sounds like generic xbox live talk huh, "im probably better at you at starcraft and halo i really dont think you should talk"
hmm, clearly you don't know teamliquid and you don't know how short your stay here will be.
"you starcraft kids" hmm, the starcraft community is much larger than the MLG community, you guys don't even exist outside of the USA, and Power gaming.
console gaming isn't even serious, you guys have MLG thats it, we have ESL, OGN, MBC, etc. FPS in general, that's cute since halo is a joke of an FPS in the eyes of real FPS gamers that play CS and Quake.
slasher I've always loved you but that royr guy deserves any hate he gets. Read his posts, he calls us ignorant LOL. I appreciate what MLG is trying to do, but quite frankly, esports tourneys have competition again. I don't see a problem with the community clinging to the one that delivers the most, and right now MLG is not ahead of the competition as far as SC2 is concerned. That's just my opinion, I didn't watch the OSR show, I just read royrs posts and died a little inside.

I dislike how RoyR is going about it though...
and yep.
I was referring to the broader MLG bashing from pages earlier, but I just saw RoyR's posts afterwards, his post count, his account creation date, and his x-box live 14 year old mannerisms.
I think we can all agree that MLG doesn't deserve the bashing, but their community does.

I'm really surprised at the user count for the production it had. I mean, put aside complaints (or compliments) about the personalities on there, it seemed really well made for only 1700 (and that's with the "Day[9] boost"). Where as Day[9] easily has more than double that on his worst day, and he's pretty much just a guy with a webcam.
I'm not going to kid myself and say "SC2 has the biggest community, that's why Day[9] is so popular." I'm sure other games have their Day[9]s and their Artosises (Artosi?). I would love a show with the production value of that Old Spice Report, but with non-obnoxious personalities on there, even from games I don't play. I listen to Live on Three every week, and only a portion of that is about StarCraft.
I'm just amazed at the quality of broadcast this was, yet the people on it were so annoying. I'm positive that the people on there is why their viewers are so low, not so much because of the content.
I agree with you - why can't capitalism work here?
You have a show with great production values but low viewership.
There's a guy with low production budget (he even told us he overdrew his account) with tons of viewers both INSIDE and OUTSIDE the starcraft community.
You control who hosts your show....
Why is this so difficult to figure out? I don't get why there are companies pumping money into making good productions but not putting the money into the hands of the most popular personalities..

1024 players for halo........... 200 players for ssbb and tekken and WoW..... Probably over 10,000 spectators for all 3 days...
You get more than 10k viewers a NIGHT watching GSL and it's on at 2-5am in the US. I know you want to argue using big numbers but you literally cannot win this.
