MLG is a console based league with interest in expanding to the PC market. Obviously appealing to the basement dwelling nerds and 30+ year audience of Starcraft is different compared to the actual Jocky and outgoing console gamers who are much more into culture and alot more outgoing. Seriously learn your place in MLG and don't complain. I know its hard concept to get ahold of but starcraft is not a big game AT ALL compared to console gaming. Once you can get 1024 people signing up for a live tournament event and a following of a million console gamers you can start complaining, but for now stop being arrogant pricks~ Let's all stereotype. That's not why people are complaining. It's because this is just covering random shit that's coming out. We want to see and hear about the top teams, not how to customize guns.

Also, @RoyR, I think most of our qualms weren't with the fact that it wasn't about sc2 the whole time, but that it was sort of a variety show based around casual gaming / new games, rather than e-sports and competitive gaming.

Considering im probably better at you at starcraft and halo i really dont think you should talk? Pop my collar high enough? You starcraft kids need to understand how niche you are compared to actual console gaming and FPS in general. Also what the hell are you saying there not representing E Sports? You do know that the only reason Starcraft works in Korea is because of there uptight culture? MLG is doing the best thing possible making a mainstream appeal making it appeal to all people. And it seems to be working with there results and the amount of traffic they get on there forums (5 threads with 40000 replies one thread that before got locked had 500,000, pro team threads every 3 months that get 1 million views) So yea less elitism and arrogance please kthx

I thought the section regarding Starcaft2 was pretty entertaining and accurate, but there's been so much criticism just about the nationalities mentioned... Idra lives in Korea, isn't that how we determine 'what' someone is? Its extremely hypocritical to put so much weight on the designation of Idra as "Korean" (unless they were talking about SeleCT anyway), at least when it comes from people from the US...a country formed of immigrants, that were not Germans, Chinese, English, etc. once they got here, they were members of the United States of America. + Show Spoiler + (I'm unsure if Idra has Korean citizenship, but he has been there for 3 years, he eats, sleeps and breathes Starcraft, what else is more Korean?)

SC2 is small, sure. What's the price money for getting first place in any Halo tournament? I'm sure it's above 24k, that's comparable second place in the GSL. Edit: Saw your second post. Just fuck off.

Not sure why everyone thinks they are going to do a super starcraft only show when they don't do that for any other game except Halo which is the game that got MLG started and has kept it going for 8 years. Exactly.......

MLG has done the SC community and TL a justice in their ability to connect with our members and allow for us to ask them open questions HERE ON TEAMLIQUID and you're going to give them this much shit about a show that they do for free as a service? Then you're going to call people who have some semblance of maturity a butthurt console scrub? These guys are giving out 7000+ a tournament for SC2, thats the biggest prize pool outside of IEM and GSL, and now you guys are going to talk like this to them? Heads up, give constructive feedback at the very least, I'm amazed that you guys can run around here on TL talking to these employees and executives of MLG, who are targetting THEIR audience which is the MLG community. They put Day[9] on the show to give us a share, especially since Day[9] has appeal to everyone, maybe even expanding some of their MLG community into the starcraft 2 community moreso. But are you guys SERIOUSLY going to give them shit like this post above for a service that MLG does for everyone? Edit: Although to be fair, that RoyR guy is even worse, when he doesn't know a thing about Starcraft and talks like that.

I'm really surprised at the user count for the production it had. I mean, put aside complaints (or compliments) about the personalities on there, it seemed really well made for only 1700 (and that's with the "Day[9] boost"). Where as Day[9] easily has more than double that on his worst day, and he's pretty much just a guy with a webcam. I'm not going to kid myself and say "SC2 has the biggest community, that's why Day[9] is so popular." I'm sure other games have their Day[9]s and their Artosises (Artosi?). I would love a show with the production value of that Old Spice Report, but with non-obnoxious personalities on there, even from games I don't play. I listen to Live on Three every week, and only a portion of that is about StarCraft. I'm just amazed at the quality of broadcast this was, yet the people on it were so annoying. I'm positive that the people on there is why their viewers are so low, not so much because of the content.
