(Z)Cool FIGHTING!

Your thoughts on reaching the finals?
▲ The matches were played so quickly that I still can't grasp the fact that I won. In SC:BW, I never had a chance to play in such a big stage (such as the finals) because I retired. I'm very happy I have the chance to play such a big game, on a big stage.

You won 3:0.
▲ I win 3 out of a 100 matches. And luckily, I won those three matches tonight. [laugh]

The first match started off against your favor. You still came back and won.
▲ The cross positional spawn points were under my favor, for sure. Also, the opponent building three bunkers, delayed his tech. This gave me a chance, even though my natural was taken down. After I stopped the banshee, I had confidence to win.

Competitively, these maps are tough to prepare for, as Zerg.
▲ I only had one day to prepare anyways, and on Scrap Station and Metalopolis I was lucky to have spawned under long rush distances. Even though the other three maps were Terran-favored, I played with this mindset: "Surely I wont lose all three matches..." [laugh]

So then, did you prepare for playing up to the 5th match?
▲ Not exactly. I was aiming to win 3:0.

In the second match, you were able to use fungal growth to snipe the medivacs.
▲ I used this tactic three months ago. Even when I practiced, I didnt reveal it in my plays. I figured Terran would learn how to avoid and counter it, so I saved it for an important match. It was tricky to pull off since I didnt get to practice it all that much, but I think it was quite effective today.

"Kim Won-Ki is a different breed of Zerg" is a rumour floating around recently.
▲ If I look through different Zerg replays, they win AND lose the same way I do. So, I can't really tell the difference. I believe I have above average positioning and micro, but I cant figure out the rest.

In the last match, broodlings were the key to your win.
▲ Really? I didn't know. Because it was a base race, I was only looking at his base. I had a feeling he was going for my main when I first saw his buildings. I initially thought of using burrowed banelings to stop his push, but I felt the timing was going to be late to do that so I changed up my strategy to ling/roach/muta.

You're usually nervous... were you in today's match?
▲ You're right, I usually am. However I wasn't nervous at all today. I was content with just being in the final four.

You're going to face a Terran in the finals.
▲ I think l have a better chance if I face Sung-jae hyung (Rainbow). Ensnare practices a lot, but Rainbow is similar to me: he enjoys playing the game, and takes it less seriously. I'm a bit more scared of facing Ensnare.

If you win the finals, the grand prize is in your hands. Does this feel real to you?
▲I don't know. I haven't thought about the money until last night, before falling asleep. I have never imagined of having the chance to win that money in my progaming life. When I get home, I have to call my parents right away. I haven't even told them about GSL yet, because of the fear of letting my parents down. But I must tell them now.

How are you going to use the two days to prepare?
▲ ZvT is easier to prepare for than ZvP. As long as I dont get overly nervous and choke, I have good chances of winning. I must prepare hard mentally.

You live in the same house as sSKS (Tester).
▲At first, we weren't even that close. Luckily, one night I was about to go to sleep, but I ended up having a drink with him [laugh]. I hope Ki-Soo uses more all-in strategies in the future. Ki-Soo agrees with me... I think. I think if he all-in'ed yesterday, he could have won. It sucks. When GSL2 hits, Ki-Soo, sSKS will be the best player.

Your goal for the finals?
▲I couldn't imagine being in this situation when I first started SC2. Everything is going well for me. The past two years, I've faced many hardships and misfortune. I think most of those misfortunes are being washed away. I want to provide and EXCITING series in the finals.

Last remarks?
▲ ZERG USERS. FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy! <3

lolol.
When he's calling his parents and telling them he can win $85k if he wins his next series then his parents are going to be like: you're no fruitdealer anymore. You'll be hiring fruitdealers for me :D.

I'm happy to see him in the finals. Zerg has a few minor issues, but as it stands right now, Cool stands a chance of taking the whole tournament. Best of luck to fruitdealer!

If Cool manages to win, its easy to assume that he is currently the best SC2 player, let alone Zerg player.
On my way...

So sick to see him get this far, it's awesome that he's getting to experience this. I came into BW right around the time he retired iirc.

Wow, this guy is so easy to love. It's impossible to NOT respect him, as both a player and a person.

Definitely in my top 3 favorite players.
