If its based off skill, his Zerg play is extremely high level. He has wins against Huk, Idra and other higher level players as well. I am sure he will post the replays at some point. He is well mannered and regularly talks with his stream viewers and answers questions as well. But yeah, how is this done and can we get Rigid into that? Getting featured on livestream is EXTREMELY difficult, ive met all the requirements and submitted liek 10 times and been denied each one -_- I think only featured streams can go on featured streams @ tl

I heard it took only a few days once you actually get a few pre recordings on there.

everybody wants his/certain peoples stream to be featured, kinda like when people are going nuts if someone special isn't invited for a tournament

Honestly I think if you are consistent for 4+ months and you can bring in 1000 viewers consistently then you deserve to be sponsored. Orb met that when he streamed, and trump meets that criteria now. Some brood war people were getting undeservedly featured toward the beginning, but that has died down and I think what we have now works. But if there are ever more than 3 or 4 featured streams online at the same time, there are probably too many featured streams.

It wasn't like a 2 tiered featuring system where featured means you are awesome and preferred means you aren't as good but still worth watching. That would be stupid and add clutter.

I say featured should be a privilege and it shouldn't be tossed around to just anyone, you can always add more featured streams but the process to take them away is few and far between, so at what point can they say, we have enough featured streamers.

Nominations shouldn't be enough to do it if you ask me, it should be very difficult to get a featured stream, either be an extremely high caliber, consistent tournament winning player, be extremely popular, as in getting 1k+ viewers without being on featured on a regular basis, streaming often enough and being a known person in the TL/SC community. I don't think it should be a small one time task such as beating idra or huk that deserves being featured, personally I've never heard of Rigid and if he isn't winning or even placing well consistently in 256+ man tournaments then how can he be considered a top player, if he's never won a tournament and isn't on a big team, how can he be considered a top player. I could not agree more on every point sir. Well said.

Because there are some streamers who have ridiculous amounts of viewers, but are not that good or disrespectful or both. If you want to keep a certain level of quality it's nearly always a bad idea to let the people choose. Most will simply make their choice based on personal preference instead of what would be better for the community. Example: We already have many good terran streamers, who are able to comment on their high level play in a entertaining and educating fashion in a good quality. We don't have a protoss or zerg streamer offering the same level of quality currently. Rigid would be a great choice as a new featured streamer in my opinion, because his stream is high quality, he is very high ranked (1200 points) and able to comment in clear and understandable english. Destiny is very entertaining to watch sometimes, but not someone who should be featured only because he is hilarious. I sometimes watch decemvrie, because he is an pretty good zerg player, but i don't understand why he should be featured. Let the tl.net people choose who they see fit to become a featured streamer and everything will be ok. Edit: Maybe i used the wrong words in my last sentence, but with "tl.net people" i meant the admins or whoever decided this until now, not the users.

The problem is I don't think TL staff want to remove these people from being featured, even if they aren't deserving anymore, because of a veteran legacy thing. Similarly, there are some very good players who aren't featured that ought to be (at least in comparison to some of what is out there currently.)

Listening to that guy is like listening to comedy central all day long. I have two wishes from TL community: 1. See Debo playing 2vs2 with Trump in stream. 2. Having Debo as co-caster with Day[9]. =)

But if there are ever more than 3 or 4 featured streams online at the same time, there are probably too many featured streams. Why? There are tons of different tournaments and leagues running. If there are are say, 4 tournaments going one night, and a couple casting teams are doing some coverage (say ICCup TV, GosuGamers, and GLHF.tv), and iNkA, Trump, LzGaMeR, PainUser, KawiiRice, Machine, Sen, MoMaN, and NoNy are playing in those tournaments, and then there's Root Gaming, mousesports, and vT covering their team's participants, and it runs past 10pm EDT on a Tuesday so Day9 will be on with his daily...there will be 16 featured streams on. And each of them has been approved by TeamLiquid as being really damn good. It's like going to an amusement park and bitching because you won't get to ride every single ride, watch every single show, browse every single store, and eat from every single concession stand.
