I use it casually all the time (even though I shouldn't), and I think Idra was using this in the same manner. Not unexcusable by any means, but I think a lot of the people here are overreacting.

The sound wasn't pretty good, so I can't really "affirm" anything, but I really heard "he wouldn't win at all if he wasn't protoss, he is actually kinda(that?) retarded"

I came here hoping to read stuff about the show... Instead this lame conversation..

I loves me some iNcontroL but how can you go 8-6, get placed 4th in a major tournament, and get guaranteed seeding for the rest of the year?
What a lucky guy.

There desperately needs to be a zerg "pillar"

Well the 4th part...there are 16 seeds. That part is justified. The weird record thing affecting seeding is messed up though. I think the problem isn't with the pool play but rather how they assign points.

Ever the opportunist. He did say in SotG that he did avoid a lot of the heavy hitters in the pools. If the original top 16 from last season all came back, he would've had to wade through the open bracket. I seriously doubt he would've gotten 4th from there. Nothing against him because he played according to the MLG system. But I hate MLG's system.

He played well when it mattered, it all comes down to this.

I was sad watching Select stomp all over Incontrol twice. And then watching Kiwikaki stomp all over Incontrol twice. Incontrol is a better player than what the stream showed.
|
Yeah it's not iNcontrols fault that the setup they have favours the seeds so much. He still had to beat some quality players, beating TLO 4-2 with extended series isn't something to sneeze at.

He played well against terrible players, fared OK and cheesed a lot against out-of-form good players (TLO) and lose in a convincing fashion (at least, he convinced me he was bad) against good players (Select, Kiwikaki).

That second game against SeleCT he should hve pulled back after the first bust attempt, he did some damage for not much loss but ended up throwing away a good number of units when stim + medivacs came out together which left him with not enough stuff to gaurd his front and drops at the same time. Hindsight is always 20/20 though

No players at MLG were "terrible", especially since Incontrol didn't even play in the open bracket where you could argue that some of the marginally less skilled players were.
Incontrol is a decent player and did very very well, you can't take it away from him because of how the pools and brackets played out.
MLG's system is really bad for some of the great players that have to start in the open bracket, but it doesn't favor Top 16 too much because whoever they get to play will be really good anyway.

incontrol played the bracket well, that's part of winning tournaments too
