No one gives a shit. If you don't like to listen to the show, your first instinct shouldn't be to tell the fans of the show. Your first instinct should be to turn it off and do something else, for gods sake.
Totally unnecessary post... It's called feedback (not the HT spell though).
Now on topic: Haven't listened to the newest podcast so far but can't wait for it, sounds hilarious. Are there any plans for 2011? I think JP mentioned something 1-2 weeks ago.
And even more important: @incontrol: Are we getting to know the huge announcement (yeah, you really hyped it up...) this year or do we have to wait till 2011?

You mean the fact that Incontrol went to compete in this past GSL? That was the only big announcement I know of.

How can any of you find Sean funny in that cast? That laughing went on forever

I'm pretty sure that was not the announcement he was referring to all the time.

I just listen while laddering and I think one of the best things to take from this podcast is what Geoff said about "esports" as a "sport". I saw a topic on TL where a guy was emailing ESPN to get coverage for SC2? Cmon people, we all love Starcraft but lets not get ahead of ourselves. We need realistic goals.
As for the cast itself, it was great. I liked everyone on it, but I felt to much attention was given to the average TL user who emailed JP. Some of those questions were downright fucked to oblivion. You professionals I'm sure have much better things to talk about; I dunno, maybe just pick out some more interesting ones that you guys can actually indulge in?
Last note: Tyler is god.

Reading the responses in the thread apparently people find this incredibly funny though so I guess yeah, I am just not getting the humor.
I believe you have the case of "Serious serious serious serious serious" or have never actually just chilled with mates having a few drinks and some fun. I also find it hard to believe it's a cultural thing because I have been to Germany(If you were born and raised there) and met tons of people who were awesome to hang out with and chill(While drinking). Obviously cannot assume this is the same for everyone but saying it's a cultural thing when it just seems like it's a personal thing is a little wrong.
You just don't like it. The cast really had nothing to do with drinking, it was just a bunch of dudes chilling and talking shit to each other. It sounds like you just don't enjoy chilling with mates and talking shit. Stop being so serious it might kill you one day.

I agree, I propose a SOTG fanclub to be formed, a place for those of us who in fact love SOTG to congregate and avoid all of this negativity, it's too much of a downer to scroll though all of this hate. Thoughts?

Well I just think you are being rather retarded. This type of environment seems like something you obviously don't enjoy and I don't see a reason for coming here "complaining" or even mentioning how you don't enjoy it. You just don't so you don't have to listen to it as if you expected you would somehow enjoy the environment.
Then acting like it's an "American" thing when clearly it's not is just rather strange. Don't have to act like an ass just because I'm attempting to discuss it with you. You are the one that brought up massive generalizations about cultures and used that as a potential reason for you not enjoying it. Sitting and drinking with mates is a universal thing, if you find the cast funny or not is a personal thing.

I agree, constructive feedback is always good. It being free has nothing to do with it.

I watched the episode where they were shooting off about elimination mode in the MLG, it was really long 3 hours which solved nothing. Elimination mode is fine they use it in regular sports all the time. Its not that big of a deal. Unfortunately it left me with a bad taste, i have only watch the 1 episode and i was hoping it was going to talk more about meta game and strats, that sort of thing. If anyone wants to PM me and let me know if it was just the one bad ep i would be grateful.
Thanks for the help, Adun

Drinking with friends in real life is different from drinking and talking on a podcast. To me it was awkward beyond belief as people ebragged about how many bottles they drank. And then there were long periods where many people were talking all at once which made things incoherent. The podcast would have been just as hilarious with the horse joke without the alcohol and definitely a lot more listenable (literally physically listenable). Add on the fact that everyone (except Anna and Sean) mercilessly ripped apart Kennegit ... creating a pretty negative vibe (come on, a lot of those weren't really playful jabs). That was the pinnacle of awkwardness in the cast. You know why a bunch of us actually like Sean? Because he's hilarious and insightful about SC2 without having to get his rocks off "playfully" humiliating someone.
I view this "you're too serious" comment as a cop out to facing the possibility that one or two funny moments outweighed a majority of pretty bad, awkward, negative stuff. I was hoping actual SC2 discussions in the podcast would balance out the negativity ... but it didn't, at least for me.

That has definetly got to be a cultural thing. I feel complete opposit about it and think there should be room for such a podcast.

Then you should be more precise in your first post.
You basicly said that whoever doesn't like certain parts of the podcast should STFU and GTFO with the argument, that the podcast is free and therefore no criticism is allowed.
I really like the podcast, but that doesn't mean other people are not allowed to state what they dislike even if it is free content. If it's public, people are allowed to comment on it imo. That of course in a constructive way.

I'll admit, it's kind of a minor thing that bugs me. But the actual drinking did make a lot of things incoherent as everyone talked at the same time (which I obviously attribute to the drinking).
