Anyway, move on, someone earlier in this thread said something about messaging sponsors (think he was against it, but that would give me the impression someone was threatening it) let us please refrain from doing anything idiotic please. I enjoyed QXC/Idra though the 3base comment from Idra was wrong.

I respect Avilo for not retaliate for the shit he has to endure past couple episodes. The constant shit talking, laughing in the background, belitting, demeaning photos from when he was 13, and hanging up the call He talked shit about the show and forced the hosts into inviting him by inciting a bullshit storm in the chat. Maybe you aren't a big sotg viewer but ever since the TvZ patch, he has been demanding to be on the show. I think he deserved even more shit talking as he didn't even apologize or mention that he didn't mean to put the hosts into such a situation. Avilo is so convincing apparently that people now think he's the victim.

A real shame, too, because it was awesome. It proved one thing: Terran can't keep using the same old strats and expect to do the exact same thing. Instead of dropping the second and third mule, a scan would let a Terran know what's going on enough to know if they should go quick third CC or D up and prepare for the attack. Scouting is hard for Terran, have to dedicate a lot of resources to it (getting a viking before medivac, maybe?), when compared to P or Z. But I think macro orbitals might help with that (make SCV's and scan when able until you're ready to take your third, for example). Can even use it as part of a wall-off (think FFE) until you're good and ready. We need no tournaments for about a month so that the high level Terrans can sit down and figure out exactly what to do to take advantage of the super-greedy 6 queen zerg while still able to defend the very very fast roach/bling all in (poor Flash, banelings must give him nightmares).

#2 Idra did NOT want Avilo on the show and tried to change the course of what he knew wasn't going to be a good thing. He tried to avoid this situation. When Avilo was making HIS FIRST set of points he was quiet and respectful of him as he spoke. When Avilo completed his point Idra began talking(calmly might I add). Idra had not even completed his thought when Avilo spoke over him and interrupted. I don't know about you guys but when I'm in a debate(friendly or not) the FIRST thing that will set me off is someone interrupting me after I was respectful enough to allow them the floor. I could care less weather they were abusive to him after this point HE EARNED IT upon not being respectful and allowing others to talk. #3 It is JP's show and he has and should have full control over what goes on air. If any of you listen to Radio programs you'll see host HANG UP on callers/guests ALL THE TIME. Its his show. Whatever. #4 To the main point of the "debate" I think that balance arguments are for the most part pointless. There are too many factors that can have an impact on a match to argue specific or general balance MOST of the time. Forums like TL are full of posts ranting about balance....and I've never clicked on one of them and I don't plan to. With the meta game being different in just about every league(bronze, masters, etc..) its pointless to argue anything but the pro-scene. Most of the time(and we saw a great example in the show) even pro players can't debate balance without drama. ^_^ EDIT: Yes the QXC/Idra debate was a bit productive but it was LESS of a balance "debate" and more of a balance "theorycrafting" session.

User was warned for this post yeah hopefully at some point in the future you will realize that publicly insulting people isnt actually what a smart person would do, infact its pretty imbecile itself. But i have to agree, bringing the guy on the show only showcased bad parts of your personalities, which is also not a smart thing to do.

If a person was black and didn't take this in mind this episode could be offensive to them. ie....Don't take everything that these guys say as COMPLETE face value. The only VALID argument against this kind of thing is that it hurts eSports legitimacy in comparison to major sports(MLB, NFL, etc). But as a person that watches ESPN alot...some of the things that these guys say aren't far off from some of the colorful commentary on Rome is Burning, AROUND THE HORN, or Pardon the Interruption. So chill... #2 Idra did NOT want Avilo on the show and tried to change the course of what he knew wasn't going to be a good thing. He tried to avoid this situation. The QXC/Idra "Great Debate" was great for you "mature adults," but the Avilo/Idra "Hang up on him, I'm not going to talk to him anymore" clusterfuck was hilarious the entire way through. Right up to where Avilo tried to twist Idra's point about letting the Zerg get too far in economy for his own side, and Idra shut him down in the form of JP hanging up. Perfection. Thank you so much. Made my night. Everyone joking and laughing up to, and after Avilo really lent the podcast a more old school feel that, now that I've seen it again, I realize I miss. Keep it up! Agreed. Best SOTG in months. Thanks for the awesome show and keep up the great work guys! For everyone complaining and/or threatening to quit watching, I sincerely hope you STOP WATCHING THE SHOW, and let those of use who actually like it enjoy it without having to listen to the incessant bitching and pretentious crap every week. Thanks.

The qxc idra debate was really interesting while Avilo sounded like some frantic rude nerd who kept interupting Idra.

Way to twist untruthful statement why should avilo apologize for saying for his opinion about the patch and current state of the game (despite truth or not)? He did not insult anybody or make fun of anyone

The small Avilo segment is getting far too much attention in an episode that was otherwise chocked full of the in-depth, rational analysis of high level strategy that I originally came to State of the Game for in the first place. It's felt like a long time since there was more game analysis then (what I find) pointless community talk, and I really appreciated that. Thanks for the great episode, content, and analysis. I want to second this and hopefully this sentiment doesnt get lost in this huge debacle
