Awesome show JP, I loved the guests, they all contributed really nicely. I missed Tyler though, but all in all the Europeans and QXC made up for that.

I hope LastShadow goes far in the LAN, just so iNcontroL will wrong again. I don't know why he says LS isn't part of the community and stuff like that. He's been much more benefitial to it than quite a few people, iNcontroL...

How on earth do you figure that?

I would laugh hard if Lastshadow went far in the tournament.

I absolutely hope he does do well, but you have to look at it from the position of a progamer. Lets look at Socke for instance, i'm sure he would have loved the opportunity to be invited to that tournament, and he is a really strong player who competes a lot, and often interacts with the community, and yet lastshadow got invited. They get $500 just for turning up to the tournament.
Does it really seem fair on people like Socke that Lastshadow gets invited. Or Machine maybe? Or QXC? Or Morrow? All these are players who are much better known than lastshadow, and spend more time investing themselves in the community. They also, despite few big results, have better results than LS.
That is why people like Incontrol are pissed off. And they deserve to be, especially IF it is true that LS basically got invited because he is friends with Day9.

I have to disagree. I think LS getting out of the group or even taking a few good maps or getting demolished is worth ten times the story than Socke, Morrow (insert good performing foreigner) doing so.
Day9 said LS was not invited because he is friends with him.
I am in favor of inviting unknown players who have an interesting personality. Look how much news LS already made.

Yeah for their next tournament I hope they invite deezer or combat-ex, they have really interesting personalities.

Great show JP, I really enjoyed hearing from both German guests and I thought they added a lot. It would be fantastic if you could get them back on in the future.
On the ls invite: even if lastshadow wins the whole thing, he would only have deserved his place after the fact. Even if you're handing out these invites just to add underdogs to the event (which makes no sense to me), are there not more deserving underdogs? His name really stands out and I can think of many more deserving underdogs.
I hope to hear either a better rationale from Day9 than "he's an underdog!" or to have him redeem his invitation but as it stands his name on that last list really disappoints me.

Put a socke in it... I think i'm the only one that genuinely laughed at that. Oh god. Otherwise, great show, it was great to get some perspective outside of the cheesy americans

I hope LS makes it far Tired of progaming teams picking up players off past results(esp in bw) and having no show in SC2 while other people who are better than them are teamless.

when was the last time this happened? I can't remember a single time in the past year when a team has picked someone because of past results

I really agree with this, there's so many players who are just as skilled or better than last shadow (who knows how good he is really anyway? I guess we'll find out), who have proved themselves a lot more, played in a lot of tournaments and worked hard in general. While I'm intrigued to see how last shadow does after the recent hype, there's so many more people who deserve a shot at that prize.

So you don't want them to acquire players based on past results...... what else would they base their recruitment on?

Great Show. Had some good laughs.

There are some interesting things about lastshadow. His approach to the game is refreshing, and it will be interesting to see whether his apm finally translated to good mechanics during the last few months. He's definitely one of the most fun players to watch in first person view just due to raw motion speed.
I'm actually glad he grabbed a spot for whatever reason. I do agree he did not deserve it in any way, though. It might sound selfish, but honestly watching good successful players is becoming tiresome and I'd rather watch somebody try to play how I believe Starcraft should be played and fail, than watch top players execute strategies that in the end only convince me further that SC2 isn't really worth watching.

That doesn't make sense, they could have invited me, and it wouldd have made more news that lastshadow. That wouldn't be a reason to invite me. Or as someone mentioned, they could invite Deezer or Combatex for the same reasons. People should get what they put into it. Socke invests a huge amount of time and energy to get to where he is, and yet a player like lastshadow who has no reason to be invited instead gets this big opportunity.
I made a point of putting "if" in caps/bold because the point is that we do not KNOW why he was invited. I have seen exactly no other reasons for him being invited over players such as the ones i mentioned, and due to him living in korea, travel should at least be 1 reason why someone else perhaps should have been, like QXC for instance. If you have to fly someone all the way to the States from Korea, as well as giving the $500 just for turning up, they better deserve it.
