Thank christ Geoff is sane.
Some no brain no micro unit that you just turn on and forget about?
It's like the terran equivalent of an electric fence.
"Oh Ill just put this here, stay out of my vegetable garden u zerg pests!"
Bronze players are going to fucking love it, as it gives them more time to get that pesky CC rally point to say on the minerals while your electric fence fucks shit up. It's a great idea, just not balanced, its the mother fucking alpha for christ sakes. If you don't think its a great idea, then your not sane.
I am too!
I usually try to avoid these types of discussions, especially on TL. However, I am quite curious as to why you think the shredder is a great idea?
Emphasis on great.

Did you see the chat blow up with angry caplock "HELLO PHOENIX" when they said toss doesn't have a good AA. I agree with you no top level people say that. But the people i talk to and play with (non pros) say that me when I QQ about the mass muta that kill me. Phoenix are not good AA that's the sad part... only against small amount of mutas do they do any good. They suck against everything else. By "small amounts of mutas" you mean "an equal number of mutas" And why do people feel like toss should have an easy way to hold off 30-40 mutas. That is a 4000/4000 army there, not exactly cheap or easy getting up to that number of mutalisks. How is this not obvious? Because Blizzard doesn't 1 unit to be spammed into oblivion that can win the game on it's own. They either had to nerf the harass capabilities of the unit or give other races better options to deal with them a.k.a wardog or w/e and the tempest.
Muta flocks are OP and need to be nerfed but mass blink stalkers and mass marines are OK?
Both show up constantly vs Zerg.
Give me my unit that can counter 30+ stalkers with minimal investment.

They aren't, in theory they would do well in a 1 on 1 fight. But stalkers, marines don't have burst dmg, they have steady dmg. Muta's just fly in ur base and leave when reinforcements come in. When u want to attack he just flies his mutas in ur base without much u can do about it cuz leaving half ur stalkers/marines at home isn't gonna scare him and ur attack would get crushed.

Bullshit, you can harass. How would you position enough building to be behind your mineral lines?
|
what if they made the nexus cannon ability be an upgrade at the nexus that requires a cyber core to be built?

Haha when Geoff's in a rant mood you just gotta let him go with it.
Tyler kinda putting things into perspective though.

I think the nice thing about this discussion is that there seems to be ridiculous overpowered things for all three races, which is what BW had. Some of these things sound completely broken, but they're less broken in contrast to each other.

But the Shredder is the most Broken of them all!!!! How do you engage a Turtle Terran with Siege Tank Shredder lines without Broods!
The OP part you talked about is kinda right though i remember hearing them talking about this on a Thread or one of the Videos about Balance from the Developers.
Its gonna be really exciting to see all the new strategies and how all these new unit compositions work out though.
My main worry about this Expansion is Mass Recall. Its gonna be Protoss sniping Bases and Mass Recalling every game.
