New suggestion: For all people who can not watch the show live...
Stop attempting to watch it the day after. Just assume from now on that every SotG is recorded on Wednesday night and then uploaded sometime afterwards. That way, we wont have pages and pages of people complaining about delays on the upload when it simply takes a day.
It's not like it's some live tournament that if you don't know what happened you'll be out of the loop. It's a podcast where they talk about shit that everybody should already know, and any major breaking news story will get covered on TL or elsewhere if they're the first place to bring it up.

Sorry all of us that love SOTG and were used to have the VOD just a couple of hours after. We don't think that it's a show where "they talk about shit that everybody should already know"

I feel for the europeans~ But give JP a break, he said it'd be up soon and he's still figuring out the VODs.

Great Firewall of China. They're insulated from the outside and because of it, miss out on a lot of changing strategies. KR/EU/NA all play together relatively often at this point in the various tournaments and it allows for a lot of strategies to exchange hands. The chinese simply don't, and it means they're stuck playing a different version of the game (essentially).

Yeah and they probably create their own metagame, would be crazy to see what the two different "versions" look like after 10 years of being isolated from each other.

Sometimes when I'm waiting for my (semi-)weekly fix of SotG, I go through the archive and listen to old episodes.
Sorry, just felt like sharing that. t.t

You're not alone, swedish brethren.

I think people complaining about the vod or mp3 not getting uploaded as fast as possible can also be taken as a compliment for the show.

Actually, most top chinese players play on the KR ladder regularly, so that shouldn't be an excuse at all.

Asking a guy with severe depression "hows life" after he just got done raging at somebody is never a good idea..

They should be able to play outside of it, but the lag should be pretty bad. Perhaps it's different in sc2, as I've not heard as much about it, but only the top players practicing in laggy situations isn't going to be great practice anyhow. For strategies to shift, a lot of people have to embrace the styles and all gradually shift. A handful of people might be able to shift the strategy, but it takes so long that they're still practicing against the older strategies most of the time, even if their own are slightly more up to par.

Well, there's a certain chronology to podcasts. They often reference each other. There's also the issue of the show feeling dated. If the show hypes an event you want that to be an upcoming event, not something that happened a couple of days ago.

We waited 10 years for SC2, and you can't wait an extra day for a podcast? Calm down, people.
Looking forward to seeing it.

Plus I believe the term "podcast" is indicative of it being available for download onto something like an iPod. So yeah, I'm not sure you can fault anyone for wanting or even waiting specifically for the VOD/MP3 download, myself included, as I can never catch the show live.
But regardless, patience folks, it will go up in due time.
