There are corporate leagues for everything from basketball to bowling. These are meant to be fun for the participants - that's pretty much it.
Sean's argument about college sports isn't quite apt here. The top college athletes go directly into professional sports - so even if the skill level is a bit off from pro-level, the competition is no less serious. Corporate leagues are casual in nature and meant to encourage team bonding and relaxing. Uniden wasn't grandmaster and he made for one of the funniest moments in esports. It wasn't a moment in ESPORTS, it was just a sc2 game. You're right SC2 isn't an esport. Is that what you want me to say? Jesus people are so over-sensitive. eSports = professional gaming IE : GSL, NASL, etc and the players that participate make up eSports. Random newbies like uniden aren't a part of it. It's like saying a little league baseball game is part of professional baseball. It's part of the sport called Baseball. Yes, and games people like uniden play are part of the game called Starcraft 2. Glad we agree it's not related to eSports.
Let's fix your statement:
Little League Baseball is part of the sport called Baseball. Uniden is (a person who is a) part of the sport called E-Sports, also known as Electronic Sports. This sport encompasses games ranging from CS: S to StarCraft II
Glad we got that clarified.

You don't have to be the best to judge someone else. Tyler knows he's not the best, but Boxer isn't the best and that's pretty much fact =/

JP with a big grin and eyes avoiding camera as Artosis says "bring DRG to MLG". That along with Mr. Chae's comments makes me believe it will happen.

I knew that would be Naniwa's answer, he's an uber competitor and wants to play against the best.

I see it's a lost cause if you consider bronze matches eSports. I guess so is farmville then.

It's less about skill than entertainment. If it's presented on a nice format with good production quality I'd love to watch it even being more of a hardcore fan, over something with second-tier pros like IPL.
I'm astonished that they even got to feature the companies proeminently. A great barrier to western ESPORTS is there aren't many pros fit to represent a large business (Tiger Woods or Roger Federer have insane contracts not only because they are great players but also they can appear in a commercial without looking insanely awkward) and it brilliantly goes around that.
