"GAY" is a word that I used far too much growing up. I think I just eventually realized that it's a pretty stupid word to be used in a "playful context". Before I met the wife and did nothing but game with 10 other guys... you couldn't say 5 words without "GAY" being in it. It basically became more of a habit (and not a good one) and the word lost meaning other than, "If it's something I don't like... it's gay". I'm not trying to censor the word GAY because I want Mainstream SC2 to hit... I'm trying to censor the word cause I think it makes people look stupid when they use it. I think my emotions just took over when talking about the "groupies" stuff and it slipped. I will never censor myself in my own content for any mainstream reasons... but I will censor myself because I want to be a better person, and part of that is eliminating that kind of crap out of my vocabulary. It certainly isn't being censored because in the back of my head I'm thinking, "OMG IF I USE THIS WORD WE CANT BE MAINSTREAM GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Inevitably, some of those changes will result in the thing or person having more in common with mainstream culture than before. That doesn't indicate a deliberate attempt to be more mainstream for the sake of being mainstream.

I was going to post to address this, JP is moving, he wants a few Weeks to get settled, to get adjusted and to find a replacement for Geoff ( 8( <3 you dude). Then he will bring the show back on, its not going to be a very long time, just give him a few weeks to get settled and to make adjustments.

Rape and N* should be off limits probably but toning down all language for the sake of the 'mainstream' isn't really necessary tbh. SC2 isn't ready to go mainstream it has a flourishing online presence that should continue to grow and expand but don't kid yourselves.

I may find the term "oh my god" offensive, therefore that too needs to be censored in casts. I find it offensive to use the word "kill" or "Oh wow IdrA just killed that guy", my mother was murdered when I was 6. The list can go on with bullshit examples of stupid people not having tough enough skin to protect their own minds from being offended. ***Being offended is your own choice, not the one who says the "offensive" term, you choose to react to what people say*** My point is it's too hard to pinpoint what we think needs to be addressed compared to what the rest of the small minority of offended people.

Just wanted to say that this is not a spoof account, believe it or not. I also wanted to apologize, listened again and heard you correctly, I did have to look up the word as well since I have not heard it before (not my natve language as mentioned before). So my bad, very sorry for misunderstanding you.

SC2 isn't ready to go mainstream it has a flourishing online presence that should continue to grow and expand but don't kid yourselves. MMA targets older audiences. They target audiences old enough to cough up a price higher than some of the major SC2 events combined. Seeing how the most of us are unwilling to pay $10 a season, I draw that SC2 audiences are younger. Younger viewers are more likely to be under parental control. Thus the success of SC2 going big has a lot to do with how the parents think. Any parent would hate to see their grade school child adore Dana White for his foul mouth. They might hate hearing the words in discussion even more because it is video game related. My point is, comparing SC2 to MMA is unfair. UFC is viewed by those who can spend a large sum of money (in comparison) per show, or at least old enough to drink at a bar. SC2 is accessible to far younger audiences.

But not enough thick skin? Some people have very good reasons to freak out about words like rape and n*
