I'm still lost here... you come off really abrasive and then respond with a single sentence that leaves me utterly confused.
I've been thinking about Tyler's attempt at drawing a parallel between stand-up comedy and people talking on streams or commentating tournaments, and it just doesn't work for me. For one thing, Tyler seems to suggest that all "good" or "responsible" comedians will attempt to moderate their language out of sensititvity, but on the other hand, there are comedians who's work just wouldn't be the same if they filtered themselves. Like, what would be interesting about a self-moderated Bill Hicks? Absolutely nothing.
Louie CK has a funny bit on the subject of offensive words.
he's an interesting comedian to bring up on the subject anyway, because he will not avoid extremely touchy and offensive subjects, like rape or pedophilia, out of sensitivity issues or how just mentioning these words could possibly force rape or pedophilia victims remember very painful events in their lives. And regarding the things CK discusses on his tv show or in his stand-up comedy, I certainly view him as a much more socially responsible artists than Seinfeld ever was.
Generally, I just think Tyler's comparison is just bad though. A stand-up comic will work extensively on his/her material, and in a lot of cases be very particular about their wording - even, or especially, when talking about potentially offensive terms. A person talking on his stream just will not and should not be expected to. Also, the strained political correctness of it all just makes Tyler/Incontrol's opinions completely uniteresting to me.

God... part of me wants to just not even justify it with a response...
-No one said they are awtching it when they hate the people on it, so why did you even mention it?
-"See how much sense this makes?" Ya it doesn't make sense, and that's probably why no one did that... again, why are you mentioning it if it has no relevance to anything...
-"if you can't take the opinions then come here and post how you feel" ok I am pretty sure this is sarcastic, but your whole post has been quite illogical that I'm not sure which it is. --First I will approach it as if it isn't sarcasm. Okay, we will come here to post our opinions and how we feel. --Now assuming it is sarcastic. We are entitled to post our opinions here, especially if they are based on sound reasoning. That is the point of the forums, to have an actual discussion in which many people have many different opinions. If you think that these forums are only for praising people then you are wrong.
-"cause everyone cares how much you dislike incontrol" Okay I shouldn't speak for him, but I'm pretty sure he said many times he doesn't dislike incontrol... he is just disagreeing with him. Believe it or not, if you respect someone or are friends with someone, you don't always have to agree with them.
I really hope you are trolling though, because I just don't understand where you are even coming up with this kind of stuff otherwise.

No, other races don't have it.
Well just to clarify the imbalance discussion doesn't have to do with any of the lower leagues (or even a lot of masters, I guess), but really at the very top level of play (recall day9 saying that he simply didn't know enough about the match-ups to make a comment regarding what Idra was saying [and note him being humble and therefore not ever getting flamed])... and so idk if most people on this thread (including myself) are really qualified to say Idra wants a fantasy.
I wished Artosis and Idra still did the Imbalanced! show lol it would be a lot of fun.
Day9 said Idra was being so vague (that he was just venting) it was impossible to have an argument especially without a replay, not a story about coin tosses and scouting troubles. He did not say he didn't know enough about the match ups to argue. He also said that he didn't have time to discuss balance. He then got flamed by a ton of people for losing the argument terribly when he wasn't trying to argue, it was hilarious.
This thread in the past several hours has been way more entertaining than the actual last show.
In that episode, yeah. I'm talking about Monday's episode
Hmmm... missed that part of Monday's episode, nevermind then.
He didn't say that explicitly so maybe I interpreted him wrong (he did say he was playing terrible, and didn't engage the balance discussion, and I feel like he said something like that in a daily, idk).

There were a lot of, "Thank you, we'll miss you"s and discussion of the episode as usual. Then Geoff responded with remarks belittling another team and a discussion on that began, as it always does in this thread, people talk about the show, and the stuff that's said on the show, and then respond to what's said in the thread. If the show was just 2 hours of Geoff's best moments and a send off and people were arbitrarily flaming him, you'd have a point, but there was actual content to discuss in addition.
There was content, we discussed the content of the show, and responded to the statements made in the thread. Despite Geoff playing the victim here, no one was really flaming him, they were just responding to the comments he made which were seen as belittling FXO and the accomplishments of it's players in comparison to his own.

I will comfort myself by knowing you aren't anywhere near a progamer and literally have 0 grasp of what it takes to place that high in anything competitive. So I know without a shadow of doubt that you are 100% a completely irrelevant perspective on the matter.
Calm down. I understand where you're coming from, but you don't know about my competitive background. Just because I'm not a progamer doesn't mean I haven't been succesful in my life. And just because you angry, doesn't mean you can proclaim that my perspective is irrelevant.
Let's use a sports analogy. If Lebron James loses in the finals, do you think he'll be happy with his 2nd place finish? Do you think Derrick Rose is happy with his 3rd/4th place finish? And if they were, it would certainly speak to how good they think they are (not the best), and what their goals were (not to be a champion).
Allow me to use another analogy.
My football team is Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. In the 2009/2010 season they finished fourth. And I was fucking ECSTATIC. Fourth in what is probably the most prestigious league in the world? Above teams like Man City and Liverpool, coming within a hairs breadth of Arsenal? BEATING Arsenal and Chelsea along the way? Fourth was a fucking dream.
Is that because Spurs are a lesser team than Chelsea, who would be unhappy with 4th? Yeah sure. Does that make the achievement any lesser for Tottenham? Er, no. It's still an amazing result for any team except for maybe 3. Being a lesser team than Chelsea and Man United is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, if you're ahead of everyone else.
The analogy is that for, say, IdrA, 4th is a disappointment. For iNcontroL it's astoundingly good. Is it because he's a lesser player than IdrA. Yep. Don't think he'd disagree with that (at least not right now, maybe after his wins his MLG ). Is being proud of 4th at MLG mean that he is a SECOND RATE player? Fuck no.
After that win did your team then shit all over other teams that you didn't beat but placed lower in ranking, and then hide behind that ONE 4th place win every time someone critisized your play?
Wtf, who was Inc shitting on? Someone said EG were bad except for IdrA and he used facts and results to demonstrate that EG are objectively better than FXO. It fucking baffles me that you think he was shitting on anyone.
As for using his result as some kind of shield to deflect criticism, this thread is the only time I've ever seen him bring it up. And above and beyond that it was the most recent MLG. When talking about MLG results, why not reference the previous fucking event?

Ok I just read through the recentposts in this thread and yeah it's pretty fucking awful. Inc defends his team when someone claims FXO are better and suddenly you've got 10-20 people jumping down his throat, trying to delegitimise his results, basically insulting him as a player which is his livelihood, then when he reacts angrily he gets a smug little 'hey calm down I was only calling you fucking terrible, you're the one who was shitting on other players, why are you playing the victim.'
For some unknown reason there's a fucking legion of arseholes who feel the need to put iNcontroL under far more scrutiny than is necessary, then take any opportunity to shit on him.
Every MLG last year; Inc is fucking awful!
MLG Dallas; Inc got an easy bracket!
MLG groups announced; Inc gets another easy group what a joke! (this one was particularly weird...so many people were saying it. Where's the people saying 'TLO gets the easiest group again guess he gets an easy road to 5th again!'. Why single out Inc from the 20 people in the groups?)
Inc streaming; He just lost a bunch of games, guess he's fucking shitty!
And now Inc defends his team and himself and the vultures fucking descend again. No wonder he got pissed and left the thread and the show on such a sour note.
I call bullshit on the iNcontroL hate. Just fucking stop.
