As an Idra fan, I believe that is a very bold statement. So much so that I am pretty sure I remember him saying something exactly like that on SotG a week or two ago, about Protoss as well even LOL.
I don't really see what everyone's problem with having the Protosses talk about Protoss was this week. They were just speaking their mind, and acknowledging the fact that they need to find new stuff to do to beat it. They talked about improvements Zergs have made, the difficulties they're facing, and how they need to overcome it. Huk was the only one speaking somewhat rashly and even still he knows he's only whining because Zergs have too. None of them suggested the game was unbeatable or broken, in fact they specifically pushed the opposite (plus Geoff and Tyler have always been long-time proponents of "play the game and find a way, don't just complain and point the finger at Blizz").
I was also shocked at how mature and collected Nani is. Seems gone are the days of his constant BM and attitude, something I'll love to never forget LOL. It's impressive and inspiring to see a player come so far in-game and out-of-game. I always love European guests.

Yea, it seemed very weird to have the protosses try to talk balance or races without other representatives around. There just wasn't much discussion. I'm not saying they're horribly biased because I don't think they are (other than those "learned how to micro" lines). But the conversation seemed less interesting.
I have no idea where "Infestor OP!" comes from. I might be able to understand it from Terrans, but against Protoss infestors aren't nearly powerful enough to warrant that. I'm actually really surprised. Obviously the "counter" is micro, which is true for all casters. Same with banelings honestly.

Person willingly finds, and then jumps off a cliff. Do you say how dare the cliff djwheat? You choose to work for the community. To take any stance against the community is only going to make you look ungrateful for the opportunity you've been given and have accepted. The second anyone gets any monetary gain they're no longer apart of the community, they just flat out work for it.
Now I want you all to imagine an ESPN employee posting online telling ESPN viewers how fucking stupid and ridiculous they are. HOW DARE YOU djwheat. I want eSports to grow just like the next fan. But this level of unprofessionalism is only going to hinder growth.

Idra has said to people, apologize for playing that race, they play terran because they have no self respect and so on. Idra is the king of insulting entire races just by always assuming the Zerg player is better than his Protoss/Terran counterpart.

I hope this post comes across the way I want it to and it doesn't sound too much like I'm bashing iNcontrol for this decision. He obviously has every right to do whatever he wishes and no one has any right to "expect" anything of him. I obviously think he awesome on the show and a big part of why it is great. I wouldn't be posting this otherwise. Best of luck. Seriously.
That said, I cannot help but feel that this is a bad decision and a real shame. SoTG had the admirable quality of being more or less neutral ground with JP Nony and iNcontrol all being from different major parts of the US SC2 community. It was interesting to here what an EG player/quasioffical spokesperson, a TL player who has some incite into how the largest site was run and an MLG(ish) person viewed various pieces of news. Better still, none of these were really "official spokespeople" for their organizations so you got a lot real talk. The end result was that no matter who else came in (Sundance, Hot_bid, etc) someone was there who would push them a little on things and call BS on stuff.
I think Sotg is like this because it came about so early. Before everything to so focused. I think the result is something that has grown organically much like Teamliquid itself. Most other efforts in this area are done for a specific purpose, for a specific organization, and with goals beyond "lets just talk about what's going on" and I think in some ways they are the poorer for it. I think it would be a shame for iNcontrol to walk away from this.
I guess what the above paragraphs boil down to is that I hope iNcontrol is not bowing out because Sotg is conflicting with other projects he is involved in now that onemoregame.org and djWheat are trying to up their own SC2 podcasting efforts. I obviously have no inside knowledge as to what is going on here but I cannot help wonder if there is more going on than "it's taking up too much time" and if it is some plan to move "the talk show with Geof" to a more EG-affiliated location then I can understand that... but it's a damn shame. Again, part of what made Sotg great was hosts that were coming from different parts of the community.
Thanks for entertaining us every Tuesday night for free.

Well I got really annoyed when Incontrol made fun of swedes and europeans, I know it wasn't meant to be offensive but it surely was. I can usually laugh about pretty much everything, but generalizations like that and making fun of other people's looks when you are pretty overweight isn't really cool and makes him look like a hypocrite tbh.
edit: And I guess americans would be pretty offended if some europeans had their own show and went "lol look at all the fat americans" which is pretty much the same thing. It's not funny, it's actually pretty racist even if it was just meant to be a joke.

There are almost no Protoss bitching about Zerg, except jokingly - HuK's comments were mostly made in jest, as he said himself. And if anyone was actually insulted by them, they should keep in mind that Zerg mass imba whining mentality has been the scourge of every Starcraft related forum for over half a year, every second thread got derailed in that direction, you literally couldn't run from it except by only ever reading General forum threads. Nobody has any ground to feel offended after 6 months of turning the community and forums into a living nightmare.
Pretty much everyone on SoTG agreed that it's the players that need to develop ways of beating strategies that are currently dominant - it's what reasonable people have been saying all along. -_-

I wouldn't be surprised to see Geoff step back from other projects as well. He seems to want to really focus on being a progamer rather than an all around guy like he is now. He said he is gonna move into the EG house too. I wouldn't be surprised to see him stop doing ITG after he fulfills the commitment he made to the show.

Well then you must have very low self esteem and no national pride to be honest, too bad for you.

Is all this talk about how protoss are going to have to find some crazy new strats to combat this terrible zerg scourge serious? How about... not expanding with 4 sentries 1 zealot 0 cannons and 0 stalkers?
BAM protoss fixed. metagame... continues!
And if it isnt the roach ling allin you are talking about, what exactly is it?

Feels weird to post twice on the same page but I had to quote this for excellence. You sir have said exactly what's on my mind regarding this whole issue down to a tee, and so collectively.
Winner winner.

What you said is being a hypocrite. You can laugh when he makes fun of other people but you can't when he makes fun of "your people". You can't say it's acceptable to poke at people's habits, language, or accent then turn around and say it's offensive when he does it to you.

Also, Incontrol is into some kind of weight lifting sports stuff and not actually overweight.

As long as you recognize that it wasn't meant to be offensive, no harm no foul.

We already do that to ourselves. As long as it's not meant to be offensive, the ability to laugh at yourself is a good thing (even inaccurate representations and stereotypes).

Seriously I can't believe incontrol hasn't got enough time to do this show. It must be because of conflicting interests. It's only a couple of hours each week he needs to sit in front of a webcam. Just a couple less tournament VODs a week.
I really enjoy SotG. Easily the best SC show on the internet at the moment. So much banter and piss taking. It all seems so natural which makes it all the more entertaining.
I hope they find another strong personality which compliments the other hosts. Such a shame to abandon a winning formula.
*Sad face*

Just because he enjoyed a joke and you didn't is no reason to berate him.
