Can easily do it close to as fast as the backspace method. Then just 22 to go back to your army or whatever....feels cleaner to me, and has the added benefit to moving screens between my bases since i usually have all my hatches on 1 hotkey.
Backspace IS faster, and doing it with people watching over your shoulder is funny cause there like, "wait what just happened". But for some reason, i get random problems, last game i did this, i had queens doubled up and some moving across the map. Probably just my execution or low energy problems or somthing i dunno.
I need to start hotkeying my queens.... I'm a 439 diamond and I only hotkey hatches and usually only one army unless I have some type of air. It's retarded how many mistakes I can make and still win. IMO, diamond is far too easy to get into.

put all your queens into one control group.
-select queens. -press v for spawn larvae -press backspace (this will centre camera on a hatch) -press right shift and hold it down (with right thumb or index) -alternatively press left click and backspace to cycle through all your hatcheries and inject.
very very efficient method and with practice, i can now inject 6 hatcheries in around 2~3 seconds.
Unfortunately this doesn't work for me as I have rather small hands.
Use your right-shift instead of your left-shift key

Not really. You just need to get used to the timing.
well dont know, what hotkeys you are using but if you are going for standard hotkeys, like i do you will prob have the longest possible way over your keyboard, if you really are using backspace to select hatches?
i for myself use "1" for all hatches and fast building units from everywhere or to set a common ralley point "4","5","6".. for queens 2-3 for my army
all you need to do is remind yourself and hit 44 v click, 55 v click, 66 v click after this (takes me than 2 seconds) just doubleclick your army hotkeys to go back to the fight
i tried the minimap thing, but to actually click the real spots (esp. on larger maps) it took me way longer

My fingers still can't reach from the V to the Right-shift to the backspace at the same time. With any combination of any fingers.

1. Press numerical hotkey for queens 2. Press v 3. Move hand to right side of keyboard 4. Hold shift key (do not release until all hatches have been inejcted) 5. Press backspace to center on hatch, left click 6. Repeat 5 until all hatcheries have been injected.

Heh... I was thinking I still have to hit V. Of course that's what the shift removes. I feel rather dumb now.
Yeah I played my first 50 or so games doing the 66vClick 77vClick 88vClick method, but after trying the backspace method I think I might be switching to that.
i much prefer the backspace method, bind all my queens to 2 then just 22 shift+v click backspace click backspace click backspace click.
i like to use my mouses software to change the thumb button to backspace so i dont have to reach to the other side of the keyboard to do it and it just works so well cause my hands just work together like that.
Backspace method is by far the best way to do it... Not only is the 55vClick 66vClick etc. method slower but you only need one hotkey (with all queens in it) instead of all your hatches on a separate hotkey. I already use 5, 6, 7 and 0 for other hotkeys so it wouldn't even be possible.
ya personally when late game comes around i like to have my infestors on hotkeys, my banelings on a seperate hotkey, any counter attacking ling or muta army is on a hotkey, and of course the core of my army (roaches, hydras, lings, mutas) on a hot key. thats already 4-7 hotkeys, then you add one for your queens and one for a building you really wanna watch, ie your lair evo chamber or spire.
zerg play kinda pivots on unit control and far to often people fall into the one hotkey a move syndrom and then whine that there army melted! well of course it melted lol!!!
anyway all these hotkeys for units leaves very little room to be hotkeying hatches and having to hit 55v66v77v i much prefer the 5+v shift back click back click back click 1a2F3F4F5a6a7a fuck ya!!!
Unfortunately this doesn't work for me as I have rather small hands.
you can edit your hotkeys with mpq editor there's actually a whole thread on it. not gonna find it now tho =/ but back to my point yeah. i hotkey all my hatches to 4 and just park my queen right in front then use the towncenter key to cycle between hatches. backspace was too far and not working for me ha so i changed it to the tilde key "~" sooo much easier to cycle between hatches now
OP, just thought I'd let you know, all your queens will not move to the hatchery. Even if all of them are out in the middle of the map, due to smartcasting only the nearest idle queen will go to the first hatch, then the nearest idle queen to the second hatch and so on.
1. bind all queens to one hotkey (mine is 1, cuz armies start at 2) 2. hit keybind 3. hit V 4. hold shift 5. hit backspace 6. click hatch 7. repeat 5 & 6 as many times as desired (only 3 times if 3 hatches, etc..)
video as an example:: this method (imo) is most effective as it gets ALL the hatcheries/lairs/hives reinjected within a second if you're good at it...
then after you're done, hit 22 (or 11 depending on your army) and go right back to the action
now, i might hit backspace first (as backspace centers camera to hatchery before holding shift, but it doesnt REALLY matter the order)
also, i saw someone say queen-'V'-minimap-'V'-minimap is a good idea... except what if you misclick?
anyways, its very time efficient if you can get it timed down to do the above method (shift-backspace)
took me... idk, 10-15 games against the AI / friends to get used to it.. and found it WAAAY better than 55-select queen-v-hatch-66-select queen, etc....
