imo, I just think they need to look organized, and clean. I wouldn't say dressy or anything but i agree with needing to look nice, b/c there are 10-13 who will follow the community and need role models

They should all be forced to look like the race they play, just for our pleasure.

I think if you want SC2 as an e-sport to gain mainstream popularity this will have to happen.

If you look at the Korean tournaments the top players are usually decked out in their team's gear with nice haircuts and no random pimple//facial hair situations making them look like basement hermit gamers lol.

i tell my players to work out one hour for every three hours they spend in CG's and Ladder, but i prefer a more physical scale of they can. Physical fitness is key, not only in the view of esports, but more importantly in the development of mental strength as well.

Longevity is also a key, and by playing to much you can burn yourself out, physical breaks can give you a clear mind to assess situations and apply the correct execution. You are supposed to feel like you accomplished some work at the end of every day, and staring at a screen macroing all day, aside from mental barriers, only gives so much accomplishment.

I think we're supposed to be focusing on America and Europe here people. Anyone who's American can probably agree that it's going to be hard for our culture to accept the e-sports scene if our players aren't looking TV-presentable. Gaming is becoming a lot more accepted in our culture, but it's still not at a level we'd like it to be, and more often than not it's something that's exploited more than appreciated.

a progamer that looks like he takes care of himself helps chip away at the "gamer" stereotype. like it or not, any publicized figure represents their entire community.

If I like a player well enough to say....put their poster on my wall, I do not want people asking "who is that shitbag?"

I am not saying they all need 200 dollar haircuts and to get their clothing from the armani exchange, but they need to look decent. Like someone I wouldn't mind hanging with in public.

bisu/jaedong look like guys who care about appearance, they don't look bad by any standards and bisu has like what, 2 million fangirls?

but hardly any of the NA pros look as good as the korean pros, and i agree with your point about how progamers need to look good.

btw, grubby's wife

"Practicing" for 12 hours a day leaves no time for fashion.

But you could probably take a shower and use acne medication once a day, not gona name any names but some of the up and coming players are FUGLY, And when it comes to sports people are vain, look at sport stars, drive nice cars, expensive clothes and are usually fit, esports stars drive a Daewoo Lanos, have ripped Oldnavy tees, long greasy hair and pimples. Couldnt hurt to take pride in how you look.

progamers are extensions of a marketing campaign

Do you think they would market better if they looked more attractive? Yes obviously.

They shouldn't be pressured, but i'm sure it is on their mind that they are the face of the e-sports community.

Look at CJ when they popped their collars, was soooo imba and dead sexy.

They don't have to roll around in Armani with rolexs and Versace glasses like Savior did but at least keep your hygiene up, look presentable, etc. Really need to overcome the "gamer" stigma, and you aren't going to do that by not washing your face, having unkempt hair, and wearing ratty, poor-fitting clothes.

Progamers need to look good so that fans can look up to them. How many people here worship Hiya?

Progaming exists in the way it does only because the sponsors use it as an advertising vehicle. And sponsors don't want to sponsor greasy nerds because no one wants to be associated with greasy nerds.

Most of the American SC2 guys could use a Tasteless makeover
