Honestly, it's VERY easy for terran to stop a bust..
As T, you scout, if they arent expanding, and have gas/spawning pool they are most likely doing a BLB. If they are, then simply bunker behind your supply depots, this way you have two layers of structure that the zerg needs to get through, if there is still a hole, fill it... ^_^ Sometimes I even float my factory over/build it as a part of my wall.(BTW i do mech against zerg, like everyone should) If this baneling bust fails (which it will), salvage your bunkers, the zerg will most likely try to tech to mutas to harass you, by this time you should have 2 thors up. Get an engi bay and turret up your minerals and gg push the zerg. (you should have approx. 8 marines, 2 tanks and 2 thors). While you are doing this push, your CC should be landing in your natural.
Now, why is it that EVERY zerg i play against trys an all in BLB? I know a lot of zerg players are complaining about zvt being imbalanced, but honestly BLB does not work, so stop trying.
Really curious what the forum has to say about why BLB is so popular, especially the zerg's perspective whether it is regarding BLB, balance issues or whatever. I might just be crazy or something and you guys will be all like "those are just noob zergs", but legitimately 80-90% of zerg will try to BLB. But tbh, I find zerg to be a push over as a mech based terran player.
Why is that EVERY terran scums I play against blocks the ramp with 3 depots, and then complains how BLB is op? see what I did there?
|
Was it an all in baneling bust? Or was it 5 banelings just to annoy you with making 2 more depots? Curious, I've been playing with this type of harass to annoy terran players and semi delay them.
Read read, yeah all in lol everyone's not Dimaga ;D

Because it's a fast gamble if you wall with supply depots. No Z likes the ZvT matchup since you need to perfectly defend against hellions/reapers/banshee/MM push while the terran picks his favorite way to destroy you and 1-base his way to victory, unless you severely outplay him.
terran mech army is SO immobile and zerg armies are RIDICULOUSLY mobile. Why don't you try some roach burrow play, nydus worm, infestor mind control, expand and tech to ultras or something like that? Maybe you should try that and write us a guide about it? I'm sure if it's that good - except no one has found about it - you'd do everyone a favor by trying it. I'm just kidding, none of what you said works, don't bother.

This isnt SC1, mech isnt slow because the ai is sooooo much better shit moves alot more fluidly, without goliaths or tanks to clog shit up its not "immobile" thats just dumb
not to mention all the maps have chokes that you can just lol faceroll and win games as terran(not that every terran doesnt do this already)

OP is doomed to lockdown (old ghost ability)
If you KNOW what your opponent is doing and you still cant counter it?
Dude you suck

I hear hellions / marauder / banshee are extremely slow. Oh wait...
Roaches and hydras are also extremely fast and viable counters for these units. Hmm, nope nope. I think I'm doing this wrong.

Too bad my Baneling busts have like 90% failure
|
To be fair burrowed roaches, nydus worms, infestors MC, all work (expo and tech does not). However, they all depend on your opponent making mistakes, not on you being awesome, which are the fundamentals of a BAD strategy.
Generally I like bling busts on alot of maps because the mid game is so horribly dangerous to me. LT comes to mind - mid game is a NIGHTMARE for ZvT.
Anyhow bling tech is always critical. Terran always has lots of marines due to extra minierals and they are arguably the lynchpin of the TvZ game (since low numbers of midgame thors will die to well spread mutas).

Why am I not getting matched against these Ts who die to Baneling bust? =(

If you actually think Roach burrow is ever worth it, you should try using it against a mech Terran and let us know how it goes. Nydus is slow, might as well get drop. Neural lasts 12 seconds. "expand and tech to ultras"... Damn, why didn't I think of that? Balance issues solved. You should work for Blizzard.

erm.....are you sayin that to the OP? if so, then i suggest you read the post again. <_<
And I'm thinking that BLB is the same as Zerg all-ins in sc:bw. If you scout the all-in, then all you need to do is set up proper defense and you should be good against the incoming attack. its jsut that BLB happens to be one of the easier all-ins to scout from zerg.

Because all of these rely on the opponent screwing up. Burrow roach gets shut down by a single raven (or missile turrets if you're trying to get into a mineral line), nydus worms pretty much die to an scv before they can finish building, and infestors get sniped incredibly easily, the things have basically no hp and are massively easy to target.
Expand and tech to ultras? Ok, hope the terran doesnt push out and kill me with an army I can't fight head-on before I manage to make it to tier3 with the economy necessary to support their production.
Basing your strategy on the hopes that the terran is either worse then you or just plain screws up is pretty iffy.

I have had a lot of success with a variation of the Sen 1-base muta build vT(variation because I am bad, mostly, although I am not really copying the exact build just the concept of it)
So no, if the zerg has gas and isn't expanding it isn't necessarily a baneling bust.
Also, there are a lot of zergs who don't "BLB" and complain about terran being OP. The current most abusive T build is heavy reapers, anyway, in which case you really don't want a lot of banelings.

Not to mention the canal is expensive and takes a while, and it takes forever to load/unload pretty much throwing out the option of using lings with a nydus. Also, Neural still has a duration so it's not nearly as useful any more.
|
If I am going to do a baneling bust I deny scouting first, and I do it a bit later so I can get an expo and a very good amount of lings and banelings, I usually get so many banelings to kill off marines or SCVs after the bust.
|
I only baneling busted on my placement matches...lol.
Ever since it's been something different for me.
|
The biggest problem with nydus is GAS. 200 gas for nydus, and 100 for exit. That's 300 gas, making it useless or all-in in early-mid game.
|
Because they're sick of terrans winning games in which they were completely outplayed and only win because they have such a powerful unit that's so easy to use, and would rather either lose there or get a shot at winning.
Although I think the game is farily balanced, I have a lot of trouble with terran's midgame pushes, and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to deal with them and I'll bust to end the game right then and there. Most terran players are usually so terrible that they have no idea what to do if their precious wall breaks, throwing off their plan of "turtle, make tanks, go to his base, press E, win"
|
Expand, Defend, Defend, Expand, Defend, Expand, tech, Hey i have a shot of winning a fight that's not in my base now!
'mobile' my ass lol
|
Baneling busts are (IMO) more situational. I baneling busted when i saw a T wall off with pure supply depots (WAY to juicy to pass up, may have been a trap, but his rax was inside base...)
Rushing banelings doesnt seen that effective.
