I'm really disappointed to see that SC2ranks is having problems. I like using the site to check out how many people are in each league and see how players are distributed across races / leagues etc. It's much more interesting than just see your name on a ladder of only 100 people. I was also impressed that SC2ranks could tell me my win rate on maps. I really wish the Blizzard tables provided more data like this.

As a CSL player (Collegiate StarLeague, which is basicly American colleges competing in a division like how soccer or football would) we get our info and such from SC2R. Blizzard blocking this info would be a huge blow.

sc2ranks API was my only hope at deeper analysis of player data in correlation to the Myers Briggs submissions collected. ... Furthermore sc2ranks is freakin' awesome in its own right, regardless of my niche appreciation for it.

This is definitely in the top 5 of my long-life experiences of "I want to punch the person responsible in the face" I mean WHAT THE fuck, Blizz is too retarded and stupid to create a competitive ladder on their own and now they even actively PREVENT the community of doing it themselves? What's the matter with these morons?

They'd be foolish not to make an exception with the service SC2ranks is doing for the community. That's about what I think too. Someone in IT or Ops probably just saw "hey this IP is making a ton of requests" but that's to be expected from prominent community sites. It's possible this is a reversible misunderstanding.

I hope so. However doing that just as we start a new season doesn't seem random. Guess we should complain to blizzard. ![]()

Really what they should do is realize that lots of people want access to the data and make an api that is less taxing than scraping HTML pages via HTTP. It doesn't make sense for them to put data out there and then expect that people won't want to crunch numbers.

That makes total sense, given that there was probably a ridiculously high number of requests recently given the reset. Anyone know anyone at Blizz to give them a call? ![]() It's a wonder that Blizz hasn't white-listed all of the well-known community sites, though.
