At least for Brazil, there isn't a strong scene here and we need something like that. hangarnet is the only thing I know, but its only a forum... EDIT: I am signed as brazilian in my battle.net account and I still had the option to download the USA client. just had to click "change region". I will update here when finished to guarantee everything is fine. woot, I'm downloading it! 6.9 GB, but can't buy the digital sate yet. lol what I just said about the LA community is going to hell... if we have the option, we will use the USA client, obviously. we love america! =D

I've successfully localized a portion of my Chinese (TW) client into English. I'm currently looking into how to localize the rest of it, and then eventually an easy way to accomplish this. Check back later for more updates!

PM'd you so I don't have to keep posting here as much if I don't come across anything major.

For LA we have a specific server, hosted in Brazil(I think). The main issue here is that if you buy on most of the stores today(at least here in Chile), you have a cd key that works on those LA servers. For those servers, you can only download a spanish o portuguese version of the game. I think most of us want to play the game in its original language, but blizz isnt giving that option. If you choose to download the US(english) client you can only play with US cdkeys( which can be bought in LA in some stores). If you bought the 30 dolar version(6months), it will only work on LA servers. That said, I think it will be rather easy to transform a englishUS client into a one that works in LA, but it will need some work in the inner core files.(like on the beta)

Blizzard continues its trend of demolishing the last scraps of faith I had in the company. At least I'll have something else to complain about with my European and Asian friends in vent while we're not playing each other. tl;dr : QQ.

Where does it say the LA servers are in Brazil? I'm betting they are on Dallas like the WoW servers... BTW: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=136769 vote!

and this is the best choice for anyone in Mexico. it's obvious that they didn't think this through, why the obsession with locking regions? it isn't practical for anyone, ping issues would be dealt automatically by common sense by the gamers themselves so that's not the reason. what is the real reason you ask? the same reason google forces localized results in searches: that you can place adds more accurately. edit: and ultimately this will mean that i won't be able to play with irl friends who didn't have this knowledge and bought the localized version. the LA comunity will be split.

Couldn't decompress Ogg data. Se esse problema persistir, entre em contato com o Suporte Técnico da Blizzard. (InstallerDecompressOgg) Note I'm installing the BR version.

Although, I still think it's completely retarded of them to not offer any way at all to get an English client in the region. Not how it works for us Swedes with most things. There are rarely localised versions (thank god) and rarely any Swedish support. We have to call to UK or US to get support in the only other language we understand: English. I don't see what would stop Blizz from doing the same for LA region. If you want English support: Call the US or send an email. Most likely they just tried to be nice and make localised versions and were blind to the problems. Just like no chat channels, no cross realm play, the ladder system and the real ID debacle. They try to make something good and lose complete track of the actual problems with it.
