There is no formal clan support and I haven't heard of any plans for that in the future. In that regard it's a major step back from War3 which had really nice clan support.

Oh stop with the stupid conspiracy theories already.
They said multiple times that they had plans for esports that would be addressed in a later patch.
Also, the problem with cross-realm is that in some countries (latin america i think, maybe russia?) they will be using a pay to play system and they need to figure out a way to standardize pricing so everyone doesn't just order the cheapest version.

Thanks so much to Takkara for the simple version! I think it was a pretty interesting interview all around. Though I am dissapointed with a couple things.

This just made my day a very sad one. I hope this isn't true. No clan support would be a major downgrade. It's strange though that they always talking about clan chat channels but never clan support ;(

I'm pretty sure they're planning to support clans. I'm almost positive about it. But I'm unsure if they've confirmed exactly their plans. It makes no sense for them to not support it, and it fits perfectly into their concept of making social communities in game.
They just may not call them clans and call them "groups" instead.

The MP part of this chat session leaves me in despair, I really don't like the way they are taking the game and was hoping they will realise the error of their ways but I guess not. The way they're kidding themselves in every single point where they compare SC2 to BW is sad.

Guest-470: Dustin, when i first read about the new AI, which Sc2 would introduce, I thought you would be more inventive. I would love to recommend your AI-team some readings on planning AI... I see that you already read up on steering behavior for the zerglings (which results in poor movements by ultralists, but that's another story). (Master in AI @ university of Copenhagen, Denmark) DustinB:: Sorry if you don't like our AI. I think it's pretty challenging and does a really good job of being aggresive and keeping you on your toes. Try Insane if you have mastered Very Hard.=)
lolwhat a dick
he had a solid point, but dustin read 'AI' and was like play insanelol!11

There were already announcements that clans would be implemented post-launch.

Agreed, lol. What a douchebag. "SORRY YOU DON'T LIKE OUR AI, YOUR VALID POINTS ARE MOOT!"

Does "fazing" refer to charging up on your own units?

Awseome job making that transcript readable.
Interesting read. Nothing... ridiculous or unexpected atm.

"They ask players in places like Australia to not buy US client and to populate the community on the SEA servers."
Bwaha.. this statement will have the opposite effect. We didn't want to be on SEA the whole time, and have been stating that continuously since they told us. This just proves to us that it will put them out for us to use the US client, killing the SEA population, which alot of us have probably been looking for a way to do anyway.
Either way I'll be getting both, but once I have the US client, the SEA one will mostly be for testing crap / training, or possible AUSNZ tournaments-for those hosted who didn't go US.
Thanks for the post & clean up.

DB seemed insanely happy throughout this interview with the =)'s
EDIT: Wait was DB being sarcastic about this...?
Guest-521: Marines are overpowered, a marine went to my base in the early game for harass and teching to void rays took too long for me, have you considered nerfing the marine? Or at least let it come to my base later? ChrisSi: Guest 499: There will be a protoss side campaign where you get to play a few missions as protoss. But the majority of the campaign's 29 missions will focus on the Terran. We'll be mixing up the gameplay by throwing some fun mission types at you. One of the more interesting mission types plays out like an Old West train robbery, while another one is similar to a zombie movie where infested Terrans attack your base at night, and in the day time (yes there's a day night cycle in this mission) you ahve to go out into the map and burn down their hideouts. DustinB:: I'll work on this. How late do you want the marine to show up?

kewl, good stuff thanks for who ever organized the info, cause i tried reading the original WALL OF TEXT and almost fainted after like 2 minutes haha...

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the wall of text. Sad that there won't be a patch at release though. I was hoping they would retract the neural parasite time limit nerf.
