As a moderately successful counter-strike player I can safely say that all the 'gaming gear' is complete marketing bullshit. Please don't buy anything from razer or these other XTREME gaming companies. Many of my teammates have been suckered into buying razer gear over the years and my old microsoft intellimouse with side buttons has outlasted at least 4 generations of their mice. My mouse is still going strong and not once have I wanted more DPI. I'm especially pissed at razer because their small and overpriced $50 mousepad (WITH CARRYING CASE ROFL) replaced the $9 enormous super mat they used to sell at Comp USA. Thanks razer, definitely looking out for my pro gaming interests. Without your scientifically (note: not) advanced mousing surfaces I'd never be ABLE TO GO FROM JOE TO PRO IN 1.337 seconds (gaming glove reference for those that witnessed that abomination of an ad campaign). Basically this stuff just appeals to the same sort of person who buys those cs servers that advertise 10,000+ FPS mega boosted hyper laser accelerated.

Pretty much this. Wasn't fakesteve calling the steelseries mouse cheating a while back..? + Show Spoiler + What is APM? APM stands for Action per Minute. It is a measure of how many clicks and key presses a gamer can do per minute with his mouse and keyboard. Why is APM important? APM is important because it measures your speed with which you're able to give out new commands. It is therefore a good indicator of the control over your game you have in terms of both micro and macromanagement. What would be a standard APM? For beginners an APM of around 40-60 is not uncommon. More experienced players will have between 100-150. Professional players have around 300 APM with some exceptions even exceeding that. What is effective APM? Effective APM or eAPM is a more accurate way of measuring APM, as it only counts those clicks/key presses that actually issue a command as opposed to standard APM, which counts every single click and key press. You don't know what the Naga does, do you? Its a great mouse for SC2. Lets you hit number keys very efficiently, particularly 7-10. Edit: 12? lawl

I am very sorry sir " make great use of it playing SC2, micro has never been so easy to control" Still sounds fair for tournaments / LANS, wont become jaedong that way ^_^ Any mouse with macroable buttons isn't allowed in any tournament or anything for a FPS, unless people don't know that you were using it, but it's like if I took my keyboard for "P" I moved it to "A" still makes it easier, doesn't make it right ^_^

The Naga the one with all the buttons on the side? Looks pretty cool... the only thing is whenever I buy a mouse/keyboard with that type of functionality I only use it a handful of times and I go back to the oldschool way.

Like i was going to buy this because i need a new keyboard and headset but I dont like the "STARCRAFT II" gimmicky looking stuff aswell as the APM BASE ALERT stuff is kinda n00bing "I WANNA BE GOOD SO IMMA BUY THIS" Instead ill just like the Steelseries 7G keyboard, Razer or steelseries mousebad and Astro/Steelseries headset..Razer sphex, lycosa and krait/salmosa atm. Wrong about the razer, they have amazing mice and mouse pads are decent too aswell as they're cord shortner.. Razer naga is a joke, not razer Steelseries and Razer have nice mousepads, I like razer's abit more.. Where is FAKESTEVE? How is the razer naga a joke? I've had mine since the product was released, a nice mouse, a great feel on my right hand. The side buttons, not as useful as you think, but the price was the same as most of these 'high dpi gaming mouse,' so I didn't really care. The Razer naga is a solid wired mouse. 5600 DPI feels really nice as well. Razer mouse are good and feel good, their keyboards are friggin terrible, their circuitry was split from w a s and d between some of the 6 circuits. If your PTT was caps lock or left ctrl (I use caps lock, my hands are big, it's comfortable,) I couldn't use w/a/and PTT at the same time. Poor design choices and it was headlining as the 'top keyboard to pick up,' at the time. I have no idea how. As far as the mouse pad, thanks for the suggestion. Agree to disagree perhaps on the naga, I don't know. p.s. - What the hell is with this APM technology? What a joke.

Sorry razer is a solid company sponsoring a lot of tournaments and players, especially teamliquid. I love my razer products, I've had 4 razer mice now, and I've never gone back to a logitech or anything else. Go razer! Im curious to how this APM technology works.. the

Things like that might be handy. Visual queues beyond the easily ignored and forgotten text on the left-hand side of the screen. - Your base is under attack - Ally base is under attack - Your unit is under attack - Ally unit is under attack - Building complete - Upgrade complete - Training complete - Resource exhausted? - Research complete - Warp-in Complete - Calldown launched? - Morph complete - Mothership complete

For example, cs is a game where people play with really low sensitivities because it's slow and you need to be pre-positioned for one hit kills - usually they play with 400 dpi. Unless you've got your mouse speed cranked up there's no real point to dpi past about 1000 for somone with normal cursor movement, and even that's probably pretty excessive. I'm thinking of cutting it in half and carrying the other part with my laptop.
