This just happened to me. I played 3 4v4 games and it was fine, but in my 1v1 game there was no minimap which made it VERY hard to try to send units around the map as I had to use my mouse to scroll over to the other player's base. I was in the bottom left in blistering sands and if I clicked to the top right it would send me back to my base :\

It happens to me all the time also, i simply CANT watch a replay with a working minimap and ingame works half the time, whorst part is when i click on the black minimap to direct on myself it drags me waaaay down in the corner of the map making it impossible to see OR use to minimap at all.

p.s; i made a map on US called Tyranny, a 2player melee map, go check it out and tell me what you think! thanks

I think the problem is with Starcraft and not anything you guys are doing. I can see the minimaps just fine on previous versions of Starcraft, just not on the newer version's replays.

yea, on my 3rd game had the same problem...then all my replays now have black minimap screen...

Don't alt tab when loading

Replay black map seems to be unavoidable though...

I agree with Fiel, I didn't do anything strange like alt-tabbing when loading

For now, it feels very random.

Wow, just played the most frustrating game I've ever played. I didn't play all weekend so I've been playing people on a lower skill level than me and I get into this match without a minimap. I'm trying to do Blink micro while scrolling across the map to find my Stalkers. I thought it would be finally over once I got my shrine up, but then he dropped me and targeted my shrine right before I finished as I helplessly tried to select my army and give them minimap commands. ;_;

Blizzard please fix now!!

Try changing it to Fullscreen(windowed mode) and then ALT+tabbing out of game then opening it up again. it fixes the black mini-map for me.

... what is this "fullscreen" and "windowed mode" you speak of. I think I remember knowing how to do something like that for another game I played, but it eludes me. Will try the alt- tabing if it happens again, thanks.

I got this in my last placement. Not only is it completely black, but clicking on it always sends you to the same corner of the map, so it's not functional in the least.

Since Patch 13, I have no minimap in replays if I launch them from within SC2. But if I start the replay from outside SC2 (associate .SC2Replay files with SC2.exe or SC2Switcher), I have a minimap and it's fine.

Thankfully it has never affected me in-game so far.

I've only encountered this in replays so far, but now I am a bit concerned about having it show up in my games as well...

But Fullscreen Windowed mode Alt-Tabbing fixes it?
