Also, would any of the more experienced RTSers here care to speculate on post-release patch frequency? I don't want SC2 to be a half-finished game for years, and it seems a lot of vets (yes, vets, not copper league whiners) are still very concerned about the direction of the gameplay design philosophy. | ||

"There was a problem downloading this content. Please try again later." This same message repeats if I try to join a game or find a match via matchmaking. It will start downloading then stop and give me this message. I am using PC. Have tried deleting cache to no avail. | ||

I wonder if it's because of the TCP->UDP switch or if they added servers further east again (which was the cause last time I felt this improvement). | ||

Anyway, I tried ultras against a guy who massed marauders, they got slapped big time, even with infestors helping out, I had to empty half of LT to kill him with ultras.. Overseer moderately useful, can drop 1 terran then out of energy, kill 1 probe max and after that he will hunt the overseer. You can stop buildings that are building now tough, which is totally sweet. | ||

After spending some time in custom matches experimenting with the changes here are my take aways. The Void Ray change was stupid..Period. The VR was perfectly fine in PVP and PVZ. You don't retune a unit that is fine in 2 of 3 matchups, you Tune the 1 match up that it is a problem in. That is piss poor balancing right there. (additional note, the VR seems to not be holding its charge. I was tired last night and need to test it today when I can, but I could of sworn it wasn't holding its charge 3 seconds. I used a spot to charge it that I always do on steppes of war and it decharged when I attacked. I may have taken longer then I realized, will review the replay later.) The FF change was meaningless. Terran aren't going to suddenly be putting thors on the front lines to crush it and Zerg aren't going to be any more inclined to go ultras. The only thing this changed was PvP which FF was a non issue. Again this was a completely stupid balance change. Stim buff - Without the VR nerf likely a fine change. With Maruader still being able to stim, a horrible change. The last thing T needed was to get stim even faster. Sans the pointless VR nerf, I might of been able to swallow this. That said, I rolled a T with VR's last night anyhow just because he was bad. The VR didn't win the fight, I just used it to add insult to injury post nerf. The range reduction does make it unlikely I will use them much outside like I would use a mothership now. Zerg buff doesn't seem like a huge deal, just requires more scouting. Simple solution if I see them going lots of overseers is to drop a SG and pump a few phoenix and go overseer hunting. Friends list change - So they made it more difficult to add friends? Why they felt the need to change this is beyond me. So now It is harder for me to add friends, just so they could implement facebook retardation. If I wanted anything to do with faceshit, I would use it. Kindly keep that garbage the hell out of my game blizzard. Give us back the old version of the friends list, it worked better and ensured that people couldn't completely name jack. Overall I think the patch was just poorly thought out. The changes made don't have the intended effect and just come across as pointless pandering to the whiners. Honestly any change made with lower tier players in mind is a terrible change. You never balance a game around unskilled players, that is just straight stupidity. | ||

You can stop buildings that are building now tough, which is totally sweet. well i guess they at least found out about this before the game was released. personally ive been able to play pretty much as normal, with slightly more lag, though i did get dropped from one match. i'm no computer programmer but i'm gonna go ahead and guess this new battlenet is a good deal more complicated and taxing than the old one, and their internal testing can't possibly equal the amount of people playing it now. hopefully they'll fix this soon so we can actually enjoy the last week of the beta though. and yeah infested terran is useless. it's time for them to just give up trying to force it in and just cut it from multiplayer already. but i'm not complaining cos the overseer went from one useful spell to two useful spells and a useless spell which is still an improvement of 100% | ||

The overseer contaminate spell seemed cool but again I've been having trouble finding enough gas where I feel comfortable making several overseers. I would rather have more fighting units. The infested terran is stupid and they should take it out of the game. The overseer being able to contaminate and spawn infested terrans doesn't feel right. I didn't mind the overseer as it was before but if they had to add something hallucinate would be cool and it'd be something I'd actually use just as something to help tank during battles. | ||

I noticed the same thing on eu server playing from the us. I forgot to start battleping for my first two games and the lag was even less than some games I've played on us server but my game always froze at the end when the other person left. | ||
