Another year has passed, and before SC2 could celebrate its 2nd birthday, or its first expansion (HotS) could see the light of day, Sc2gears has already turned 2!
In the last year (since the 1st birthday) 27 major releases of Sc2gears were published; 36 including minor releases (that's more than 1 major release in every 2 weeks!). This is even more than in the first year of Sc2gears (21 major, 31 including minor releases)!
Last year also brought us the Sc2gears Database giving you automatic replay backup possibilities and access to your replays and other files anywhere any time, and the Parsing Service to aid numerous StarCraft II related web sites and servers.
Thanks Everyone for the continuous support and feedback!
Sc2gears has long become - and remained the most advanced and comprehensive replay analyzer and organizer in history, and the most widely known and used one for StarCraft II.
...And we're not done... we're in the heat of combat... Stay tuned!
Keep up the awesome work Dakota - I don't now how we would organise and analyse our replays without you! :D It's admirable you still diligently reply to every question here, even if the question has been covered in the FAQ; and that you continue to consider and evaluate everyone's suggestions, even if they vary wildly in quality. I am excited to have had some of my own functionality proposals implemented, which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and I'm sure anyone else who has suggested something that got implemented feels the same.
So I keep trying to update but it says that the "SHA-256 checksum" keeps failing and I should contact the author, so what should I do? lol (this is me contacting the author ) but i posted here instead of PM incase anyone else knows how to fix it.

The download server (Mediafire) is having problems. Once they fix it, it should work. Try again a little later.
I just tested Sc2gears for the first time and i love it! But i got a question:
The APM statistics do not catch the use of camera hotkeys. Since i am used to spam through my camera hotkeys (F1-F4) in the early game my APM is really low even though im spamming. What is the reason for this?

The reason is that camera movement was never included in APM calculation. It doesn't matter where your screen is when you issue commands, what matters is the target point of actions on the map (x-y coordinates).
About the color win-loss function. Having trouble getting favored player list to work with my EU-nickname (M‡Lalush). Works fine with the NA nickname (lalush).
SC2gears doesn't seem to recognize the ‡ character.

SC2gears doesn't seem to recognize the ‡ character.
Open a replay of yours in the analyzer, go to the game info tab, and copy it how it appears, paste this manually in the favored player list (replay parser tab of the misc settings dialog).
Or if this doesn't work, try right clicking on your name and choose "Add to the favored player list".
If none of these work, send me a replay of yours, and I see what I can do.

I want to use sc2gears to save my ladder replays and add comments to each game. I found that comments are only saved if I save a search result list as a replay list. But I can't seem to find a way to add a new replay to an existing list so that existing comments are saved. Any idea how I can do this?

You can add comments to your replays on the "Public comments" tab of the Replay analyzer, that comment is retained and displayed even if you check your rep on another computer. Also others who you share your replay with can also comment on it and rate it.

I'd really rather keep comments in the csv file, because it lets me see all of them at once without having to open each replay.
What I do now to add one replay to a list is: *save the new replay as a new list *open the two csv files in notepad *copy the new replay's entry to the main list
It's a bit of work for each replay and what I'm looking for is a quicker way to do this.
i have 2 acc, one in NA and another in TW, i placed all my replays in one archive and tried to analize all toguether but it seem that sc2gears still analize each acc individually

p.s. awesome job thx
Tell Sc2gears your aliases, and it will treat your accounts as one in the Multi-replay analysis. You can enter aliases on the Aliases tab of the Misc settings dialog.

So is this possible at all?
Replay lists are static, Sc2gears does not provide a way to add replays to a list. The custom method described here works though...
