Hey all,

I've been following HD since he started out and Husky even longer, but often times I feel that there just isn't enough new material between the two satisfy all my SC2 commentary needs.

So im wondering: Are there any other commentators out there worth keeping tabs on? For SC2 that is. I'm thinking mainly about via youtube or equivalent services, but im open to other sources too. As long as the commentary is solid thats all that really matters.

Shoutcraft is really nice. My favorites are Orb when he is playing his own games and doing commentary on them and Shoutcraft.

Day9 is the best for technical stuff and learning the game. Goatrope is HILARIOUS but often won't even talk about the game he is playing.

Day9 is, imo, hands down the best commentator on the interwebz. He's on a whole different level then other regular SC2 commentators. HD and Husky are entertaining, but their technical knowledge is lacking, same with thegunrun. Orb's stream is very good for high level play, but finding his rage entertaining is a personal preference, but I find it hilarious.

EDIT: These are all streams that can be found here on TL. Finding youtube vids is pretty hit or miss imo. But if you follow the streams here, you can get really good commentary with new content everyday.

I like to watch Gretorp's stream. He explains his decisions really well and i learn a lot from watching his stream.

http://www.youtube.com/user/SC2GGRise Very nice commentaries.

There are other channels that may suit you: WTii1 or MrShavvo

Crota does a decent job at commentating, although his showmanship aspects are rather lacking compared to others.

I like day9 because of his enthusiasm and knowledge. Sometimes it's annoying to watch some of the lesser skilled commentaries because they make bad calls and don't understand why someone is doing something. But that is the price you pay when you shoutcast more than you play. =)

HD and Husky are very entertaining, if entertainment value is what you desire.

Gotta say Rise, HD and Husky just don't know enough about the game and their comments are often completely wrong and they simply miss alot of key information in the game (Upgrades, expos, unit combos...)

Gretorp is fun to watch as the others have said he tells us what he's thinking/doing as he plays, Day9 obviously and though I'm not personally a fan of Orb's commentary its still something to watch for its play.

This man is one of the few true nerds in the world ^^

I like all of the commentators too but I do watch HD and husky more just because I tend to have access to my cpu right when they are doing livestreaming(BTW in the US they are livestreaming at 4:00PM! Pacific standard is 1:00PM! HD's livestream link.

Day, Gretorp, LzGamer and Nony are consistently good althought you might not hear Nony . I haven't tried every stream though obviously so I'm sure there are others that are great.

There are others that aren't bad but just do weird things all the time or don't seem to mind when they have 10 people in their ventrillo commentating about random stuff. Also, random zooming-in or blasting techno music from some streamers is just annoying IMO.

A stream I was watching the other day was commentating a match and they had a guy in the background on the phone (and you could hear the entire conversation) for about 10 minutes before I gave up on it.

Overall, they're all better than I would be but a * doesn't necessarily mean it's a GREAT stream.

Is there a protoss or zerg version of Gretorp? Since I haven't found one HD and Husky are sufficient enough for me in my current noob state of time.

THANKS A TON for all the good feedback everyone. Now I can go around "shopping" for a few new commentators to add to my daily checklist

I understand many of these sugggestions are not youtubers, but streamers here on TL. I do follow some of them too, but the problem is it a bit hit or miss wether anyone worth watching is online. I guess I should look into any on-demand functions for those channels. I must admidt I haven't really checked that out. Quality is also a bit low for many of the streams unfortunately. I am spoiled by HD =P

Thanks again for all the nice feedback. If anyone feels someone good has not been mentioned yet, speak up

husky and HD are pretty amusing. you don't need to be a SC genius to comment on a game...

if you take the game too serious, don't watch commentaries and just watch replays... it's that simple!

tasteless and superdanielman are the best though.

crotas streams/games are for those who dont have SC 2 and want to see stuff he has the work ethic of a starving chiense guy. hes not the best commentator around but he is great if you want to see people play.

diggity is good if you want more in depth analysis on certain units and timings so you are more informed about what is going on in each game. Day9 is good if you want to learn how to play the game. One segestion though if your watching the D9dailys watch them in video rather than in the live. (to view video go under the video and you will see D9D 102 ect and click one of those)
that way it wont lag.
all is fair as long as you dont care

Husky is poorer commentator out of two from HDH, but they do lack the general knowledge and miss out on things pretty constantly. Day9 is best imho and rest r personal preference
