Many of the better ones don't post often enough, cause either they aren't doing them or I cant find them: chill, artosis, diggity for instance. So far here are the most professional, enjoyable casters I enjoy on a daily basis. Day9: Sean's shows and commentaries are absolutely one of the most entertaining thing in my life right now on so many levels lol. Not only is his knowledge of the game vast and extensive, the pure joy this guy has for this thing - Starcraft - that he has discovered in life that has been a family obsession for over 10 years shows ... well it shows in everything he does and says, and it is infectious. You cant help but like the guy. Not only when he is marveling over the timing of a 4 gate protoss build, but when he is pontificating on the joys of green pea soup or some wierd thing that happened with some girl in line at school that day as well. His show is part of my daily routine for sure. Mad props to Schaughne and Chipholte burritos and everything they do for this scene. Day9 and Gretorp: Lately they have been doing commentaries together and when they do, it is simply spectacular. It's like watching a pro golf tournament where these two expert players are giving you a really keen insight into what is going on. The only difference is they're not commentating on Tiger's 9 iron selection, they are analyzing The Little One's Viking use vs Zerg on Scrap Station. Simply wicked and at times hilarious as well. Touche. Husky and HD (HDH): I have been watching both of them individually for over a year now, and although they are relative newcomers I saw from the beginning that they had a similar sincere love for the game and a willingness to work hard to get better at what they were doing. Husky was always very consistant about getting VODs up on a timely basis and he always was entertaining to watch, at times hilarious. HD was obviously a bit newer to the game but he had a really sincere, excited way of commentating that kept my interest. As time has gone by they have both really stepped up to the plate in terms of game knowledge and professionalism. When they teamed up after the start of the beta it made total sense to me, and time has shown that it's working out great. If Sean and Gretorp are like commentators at a Masters Tournament, HDH are like Monday Night Football. In my opinion their knowledge of the game is just fine to get across the excitement and competitive spirit of the players, the scene and the game. Congrats to them for the success of the HDH tournament. If they keep going over the next few years after release, and the game turns out to be an e-sports success (which it definitely might be) I can definitely see these two going semi-pro or pro for e-sports broadcasting. They're really good. Everybody else: I don't consider live streamers with a mic talking over their own game "commentators". It's not the same thing at all. And everybody else that is commentating that wants to be watched: Post more VODs. The more VODs you post, the more you will be noticed and watched on a regular basis. If nobody can find your VODs, very few people are going to pay attention to what you are doing. PS: I am a pure spectator. At this point I never played Brood War seriously, do not have a beta key, and do not play the game. So I am a pure fan of the scene and I watch and follow this game the way some people follow pro football or soccer. Dont forget we are out here and don't forget as time goes by there might be a whole lot more on the way. .

He sometimes even takes suggestions from the crowd in game, as we goad him to 6 pool, or GO ULTRASS, use the BROs and HOs build (mass queen into mass bro[od]lord), and somehow pulls off the often horrible ideas with his great micro and econ games (note to steven: you havent lost yet when you teched to ultras when we told you to).

I can't listen to the rest of the 'casual' commentators, though.Husky and HD actually sound like commentators though. Day9 bores me. Yeah, he's more knowledgeable about the game but I literally fall asleep halfway through. I find he lacks enthusiasm on his commentaries. It would be like hearing Kobe Bryant commenting throughout an entire basketball game.. yea, he would have alot of knowledge, but would put the viewer to asleep. I guess if your learning about the game and looking to improve on your game, day9 would be the better commentator - but if you just wanna relax and watch a good, entertaining game that doesn't sound like a robot talking in your ear, then HD and Husky are the best right now (for english). In no particular order: Day9, Gretorp, Lzgamer, Psy, Rise, Chill and Inc. When Artosis and Tasteless start doing it again, I'll listen to them also. Also Nony when he occasionally does it. In terms of play by play people, Dj Wheat and JP are the best, by far, and it's no surprise that they're the only two pros.

Husky and HD sound like commentators, but to me it sounds like they are trying to sound way too hard like them(especially husky). I watch their VODs often(HDH), and a lot of them time they don't delve too deeply into the strategy of the game like Day9 does. They just announce what is happening with their commentator voices. However, they do have quite a significant user base, so this is just my opinion.

But it's like you have to watch many of their VOD's simply of the player (TLO, Sen, White Ra etc) quality in the game. It is a bit annoying. I remember scrolling down my subscriptions and having two commentators commentate the same game, and I would just gravitate toward the better commentator and not watch the other. I wish it was like that now so I wouldn't have to put up with the analysis by HD and Husky.

I've yet to find a good zerg streamer sadly, Artosis / Sen don't stream that often and when i had the chance to see them they weren't really talking a lot.

Always entertaining commentaries and i really like the determination he has to get better at the game. quite inspiring. And and huge thanks to all the other casters too, really turned the beta into something the whole community can enjoy and bodes really well for the future of the game as an e-sport. oh yeah, upload more games Danny! =D

Day9 is a very close second in terms of shoutcasting, only because he doesnt see "everything" imo like Tasteless does and has a weaker voice for shoutcasting unlike Tasteless. I am talking from a pure entertainment value standpoint, if you want to learn more Listen to Day9.

It's not all that easy to keep an eye on everything at once and try and say something remotely intelligent about it. Not that it's easier to play at that level, but still. Definitely poke around yt and the TL streams. A lot of great commentators who I'd like to emulate at some point.
