Also, there was already a wave of keys given to deserving new posters. i feel the same way (one of reasons why i took back my nomination) i am a member of another site, for 4 years (not going to say) that had some beta key giveaways and all the keys went to fake duplicate accounts made that day for the competition i was dissapointed that the real community (not just myself) did not get anything back for the time they put in, so i finally signed up here so yes i totally agree with you This is why the people who desires to get their names crossed over will get the keys. Proves that they are actually real accounts that are active. No, I don't have any source on this. I bring my epic theories to the table. it clearly says "3. You won't get a key. " i believe the point of the competition is for everyone to agree who is most deserving

Just cuz I have less than 50 posts doesn't mean much since I've been a member here longer than the beta has been out, and I've been keeping an eye on team liquid for years. I haven't posted much until recently, the better plan would be the remove accounts made after a certain date, hardly post count should be the different maker.
I shoudl qualify that by saying IF ANYTHING, that should be the case, but this plan works. Due to people that are solidly stating that they will nto remove themselves, we have already assured that nobody will be getting keys. All this means is we will be able to visibly see who will lose just a little bit of dignity and respect within the community.

Woah this is crazy! Will anyone get a key? we shall see!

its kinda sad that you say that because i lurk on TL from 2008 i just don't like to talk alot.

I believe the list that Hot_Bid is using is from this http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=119965¤tpage=2
Now, this list does not contain everyone who self-nominated. Kennigit did specify that self-nominations were completely legit, if you thought you were deserving. So it ticked me off that all these undeserving people (mainly "everyone with <50 posts", as you say) self nominated. Of course you could have more posts and still be undeserving, so I tried to include those people too. The problem, however, is that I don't know everyone and what they've done, where they've helped out, stuff like that, so that's why I added that blurb at the top of my post. Anyways, I think it's completely fair that everyone with <50 posts remain on that list, because that's what that list is about. Again, I apologize for any self-nominees that were caught in my line of fire.

Let's say we can look into the future and we know that by nominating ourselves, we would win a key. It's as good as getting a beta invite from blizzard for doing jack shit. You don't see the latter person giving away their key, do you? Why should the person who nominated themselves step down? Stepping down is like giving up a beta key. The people nominating themselves as as selfish as the people who opted in and used their keys for their own play instead of giving it to someone more deserving. Oh, I'm sorry. People who got beta keys from blizzard and used it for themselves aren't selfish, they're lucky. Hey You can be as bitter as you want. But a thread asking for nominations for people that deserve a beta key resulting in 151 people with MOSTLY <50 posts nominating themselves is friggin hilarious. You can get angry at the cosmos for everyone who went through blizzard and was selfish enough to use the beta key they got on themselves.. that's fine if you wanna do that. I'ma sit here and watch this unfold! Lol, I'm not angry. I just don't think the people calling these guys out are any less selfish on the whole. General statement, not targetting you. Hypocrisy irritates me.
How are people that are calling these guys out not less selfish. If two people are almost exactly the same, same thoughts, same personalities, what have you, and one goes out and actually self nominates whereas the other thinks it's better not to. You're saying that one is not less selfish than the other?

I guess I'm unfairly grouping all the super low post count people together. Obviously there are a bunch of lurkers who signed up so they wouldn't miss out on a competition but a bunch of super low post count people obviously just joined TL for this 'competition'.
EDIT: I un-nominate myself. Please take me off the list.

I'm saying there's no difference in selfishness between: People who got lucky with a beta key invite from blizzard AND decided they're the most deserving person to have it by registering their key.
VS
A person nominating themselves, claiming they are the most deserving person to get the beta.
The only difference I see is that one group is acting on their selfishness behind closed doors and the other group is showing it in public.

Is nice to know your not worth it XD but hey like I said i'll be happy if some deserving ppl get it even if isn't me =D, come on guys get on agreement and share accounts if in the same city

But to all those that step down: I applaud you.
To respond to this, you realise Inc that the OP said that this was a list of self nominatees that the admins thought worthy of consideration, so spare us the scorn just because we don't post as much or whatever. Some of us love this shit but still have other shit to do, so we don't contribute as much, doesn't mean we dont appreciate the game or whatever. It's called being part of the masses lol, I'm ok with it and stop hating on me for being a fan of a game and a site that you are a massive part of etc etc

Given that only 10 keys have been allocated to nominees TOTAL, and less than 10 are even considered being given to self-nominators, I don't see any chance of enough self-nominators pulling out so that anyone gets anything.

So because I created my account when I got into Husky's and HD's youtube casts and haven't found anything to post my "knowledge" in i should be undeserving of a beta key. (BTW I opted in on day one) Personally I'd rather not spam a forum with useless dribble trying to up my post count just to make me look like I have been active. When in reality all you have to do is look at when the user name has been log in last, or at minimum, the IP. (sorry to get off topic here, but Scorch seems to be a bit mad that anyone here can just nominate them selves and get a beta key, when he didn't get one in the "I've been here forever" category.)
