Poll: Which settings do you use? (Vote): Windowed Mode (Vote): Windowed Mode (fullscreen) (Vote): Fullscreen Mode I have been curious about this for a long time, please forgive me for making a poll :/ I see streamers mainly use Windowed Full mode, but i'm curious what the general community use. Windowed Full is muuuuuch easier for tabbing I realized!

Okay, is there a way to have the starcraft window remain the active window while simultaneously having another window visually overlayed on top of the starcraft window, to where you can play starcraft while still seeing this other window? (I'm asking because this would mean I could make a window transparent and monitor it while I simultaneously play starcraft) There are many third party apps which allow you to set any window to always on top and add transparency. Just google around till you find one with features you like. Edit: I personally am using FS (non windowed) for gaming atm but for no particular reason. I use either FS windowed or windowed mode when watching replays.

However, remember that running it in any type of windowed mode will eat up your processor even when you aren't focused on the game. If you run it on fullscreen it doesn't display when you don't have it up so its a lot easier on your computer. Hope this helps.

Yes, it's a lie. I am lying about it because I really want to make people tell me how to go into windowed mode. I just take pleasure in talking about windows with people, and I like to try to bring up the issue when I can. It's not that I typically start apps with -window in the .exe and was surprised to see the option to allow windowed mode in the games options menu.

I tried starting sc2 with --zerg but it didn't work. I'm going to assume you don't have a beta account. AFAIK there isn't a way to choose your race using the crack.

Right now I am working on a script that will prevent accidental pressing of the control group buttons above the center taskbar in the game. It requires you be using windowed mode fullscreen to work. Should be ready tomorrow.

When I start it up it works fine in windowed mode and the game covers the taskbar, but once I alt tab out the taskbar persists in front of the game.

Sometimes it does happen when SC2 does not lock in the mouse cursor. To fix this I click outside of the sc2 window (on my 2nd monitor), and then click back on the sc2 window. I can now scroll towards my second monitor without a problem.

I think run SC2B in windowed mode will allow you to switch back to windows desktop faster in case you need AIM or surfing web etc... But Windowed mode will eat up some more resource than FS(on slow comp). My laptop can only run SC2B at low setting so no window for me. I run at FS and tab back to windows no problem.

I have to play like this. I have my SC2 running on a 42 inch flat screen TV and the resolution does not match SC'2 provided resolution options. If I run full screen, parts of the game go off the edge and I can't see how much food I have etc.
