I have been playing sc2 beta since Friday without any problems until yesterday. Since then the program starts normally. After 15sec it crashes and pops out a window of Error Report to send to blizzard. I have sent many times this report but I haven t had an answer. During these 15sec I can login and go to ladder or whatever I want and then it crashes, even if I havent done anything. I have tried reinstalling the beta, updated the drivers of my video card (nvidia 9800 GT) updated the drivers of my network card and started the windows without the startup applications. I also tried the windowed mode and the low resolution settings as well as adding the frame ratio cap in the variables.txt.The problem still exists. My GPU temperature is 40oC before and reaches to 49oC max during the 15sec. Is there something else I can try? Has anyone else had the same problem?
P.S. I tried posting this to bnet forums but it says that my account cannot post on any thread. I have also sent emails to the support mail address of blizzard but havent had an answer yet.
This is more frustrating than when I didnt have a beta key at all.
edit corrected the seconds - sorry for the title - ''is the symbol of seconds in greece and I thought it is international.

... seconds, anything useful?
|
Why can't you post in the bnet forum?
|
I have the same question, and i asked about that in my mail to blizzard support
|
Well, it seems you are doomed to wait till they eventually anwser you. And god damn it i'm sorry for you.
PS: it's not ironic, i wish that if i had a key I had no problems of this type.

Are you trying to post on the European or US beta forums? Because with a european account, you can only post on the EU ones (US is the default).

Try deleting the Battle.net folder from here (Some of the folders are hidden): C:\Users\**UserName**\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment
You should def submit crashes to the Bug report forums btw.

If your screen ever hangs, that's an issue with the logitech webcam driver and needs to be removed.

@ Titanidis do what CowGoMoo suggested, it worked for me.

That folder is where Battle.net maps and other battle.net related info gets stored. The more maps you play on and the more Battle.net 'things' you do, the larger the file will get.
The crash line has "Internal battle.net error" in it (The only part that made any sense to me) so I figured it was some how related to this cache.

Quick uninstall Nvidia latest drivers and install older ones. Your graphic card is overheating and may burn-out. Your whole PC can burn-out.

giving such bad advices... the problem got solved, you just need to delete the Cache folder and let bnet redownload from in-game.

yea i crashed a couple times and got a "windows error" several times twice in 2v2 and one in a 1v1 so far they were really random

When I first loaded SC2, I could'nt even load the main screen. (login screen) It would crash instantly. (Display driver error then would recover then crash until I had to cntrl alt delete and shut it down) I tried every fix I could find on these posts. Drivers, Frame-rate cap, Lowering Graphics, turning phys X off, playing window mode, reinstalling, roll back drivers, changing screen resolution, uninstalling quick cam and logictech stuff. Nothing I did would work and I was determined to find a fix for this. I knew this has to be an Nvidia problem of some type. My computer is more than capable of running this game. Windows 64 Home I7 920 cpu Nvidia 8800 GTX 8 Gig DDR3 Ram 750 watt psu
So this is how I fixed my problem. I used my kids computer....stock best buy system...quad core..with a crappy ass Nividia 9100 graphics card. Right after I installed the game it loaded up and was stable...sort of. Immediately I set all graphics to there lowest settings and played a game. Had 60 fps at start and everything was smooth...then after about 5 mins the FPS dropped to about 3-5 which was completely unplayable. So the big question besides the strange FPS problem was, why did this game run on his crappy computer and would not even load on my custom built gaming machine? So I looked into his VARIABLES txt and found out that it was COMPLETELY different then the Variables txt that was on my machine. So I copied his and deleted all of the txt in my variables and replaced it with his, deleted my cache file and started up SC2 and what do ya know..IT WORKED and now I can play the game with no problems!!!
This is the Variables txt that I copied and pasted into my variables txt. I deleted all the txt that I had and only used the txt that I copied from his computer.
