Hearing Day[9] commentating live in Cologne together with Apollo was really really awesome.
I had two friends with me who aren´t even into starcraft2 but they said that Day[9]s commentary was their highlight of the day.

great commentating in the IEM! About the attempt to get the crowd to say "IdrA hwaiting!" = no shame I love it - crowd was horrible but your attitude is the best!

It must suck trying to get into the casting crowd these days, cause best case scenario you get picked to co-cast with day9, and then he makes you look like an ass in an international event!

I dont think that dream pairing is meant to happen, they are such energetic and on the spot casters by themselves that i think that trying to blend it together will fail horribly and then we will get a situation pretty similar to day9 / apollo.

not to bash on apollo, but it was like day9 was constantly having to check him down or change the subject when apollo would screw up with either unprofessional-ism or making bad calls about the gameplay... Tasteless wouldn't do either.
and TBH, I think the sponsors and event organizers will do ultimately what the fans want, so if anyone else wants this as much as me, we should make it clear that if they want the best commentating, they should do it!

hmm, well i could argue that its too early to do so a caster combination like that should not just automatically generate itself but rather have a rather huge vocal demand for it. Needs more hype before it happens imho.

even tho day9 was way more dominant than appollo i think they both were great as a team, its doesnt need to be a equal pair für casters to be great.
thus far i liked day9 + gretorp in the euro vs asia show matches the most until i saw / heared day9 + appollo - appollo often saw special tech buildings or key upgrades day9 missed so he could help him out with addiotional essential side information

I have no idea what people are talking about, I thought Apollo and Day9 both were great. If any of them are worse live casters, I wouldn't say it's Apollo... That said, both were good.
A bit sensitive on the ears perhaps?

Just wondering but why was Apollo casting in the first place?
I know about his adventures in Korea and such but I never knew he was a commentator.

I'd actually like to see Day9 and Husky do a cast together. Day9 is so professional and knowledgeable, and you learn more about the game by watching him. But Husky is terrific at "color" commentary--jokes, amping up the excitement of whats happening on the screen, and basically just injecting a sense of fun and personality into the game.
In most pro sports, you have two commentators--an "analyst/play by play guy", who tells you whats happening and why and provides deeper insight, and the "color" guy who cracks jokes and uses catch phrases and basically tries to make it as fun as possible.
In a weird way, I feel like Day9 and Husky together could fill these rolls brilliantly.

I'd personally prefer Day9 and HD, with HD fulfilling Husky's role you just outlined. My 2 cents

no those dailies were from 2 weeks ago. he didnt do any dailies the past week because of IEM. hope there are dailies this week.

He's heading off to MGL soon, and after the casting he did at IEM I think his voice will need a bit of a rest if he's going to preform well at MLG.
