[H] PvT Marauder/Proxy Fac with Mines

Ok so I just played theognis and he did some crazy build that I don't think toss can hold using a one gate expo.

So he went 1 rax gas into marauder. Then he proxied a fact (which is almost impossible to scout) and made mines from it. From here he moved in and attacked.

I feel like there is no way to scout this. As he took gas, I can't send out my lot or stalker due the fact that he could have made a reaper, and if he did I just lose outright. So I'm blind after scouting the rax and gas. (I got lucky and scouted the tech lab though). Either way I don't think a normal 1 gate fe can hold against this build, so now toss will have to resort back to 2 gate robo expo against gas openings like the ognis said in the rep.

What do you all think? Is there a way to hold this without losing an amount where you are behind exponentially?

I mean I don't think that there is much to anaylize. I went 1 gate expo and only had about 5 units out. Normally you can hold this type of thing by pulling probes. But I can't because the widow mine could hit all the probes. Also, I have to decide to use detect and kill mine or use the cannon on the msc. Idk which one is better really. I feel like its lose/lose either way. and once he gets two mines in there its pretty much game.

I did same kind of build yesterday as terran and i was countered hard by protoss going 2 gate stalker Msc. He sacked probe one by one on my 2 mines while stalkers were fighting even with my marauders but after that msc destroyed my mines. i must add that my opponent take the risk to engage me out of range of possible overcharge.

Maybe when this push will be more known, protosses will find a way to deal with it with 1 gate expo. But it seems not so powerful atm.

I'm in diamond league btw

I tried almost the same build and it was very successful in the first try. In the second try i met a protoss that just sends the MSC to my base.

haha it's a good build. yeah sending the MSC for a counter is a good option if the map is small enough to allow it. otherwise I don't think 1 gate expo can hold it in a straight up battle.

1 base mothership core rushes are really hard to stop if you 1rax expand as well, and you don't have to proxy anything and can port back to base if it starts failing.

if you scout one base just put up a second bunker and you are golden

Honestly scouting prxy factory should be standard these days.build mscore before wg tech and attack w mscore stalker while scouting factory w probe. Ms core attack path sweeps other factory location. If scout factory force lift and more gateways? Dunno it just doesn't sound that bad. I always 2 gate mscore pressure expand now in pvt cause he core is so good and I can always at least get a depot

Watched the rep.

In a normal map, aka tournament class map, it should be posible to scout the proxy factory, as other said.
On the big+retarded Blizz maps, it is really hard (so many locations to place the proxy, so is lucky based, so let say for practical reasons that you cannot find it).
And on that particular map, Msc "rush" to enemy mineral line is partuculary strong, so you should have done that. Not recomended imo for other maps, plus it is going to be figured and is going to be useless without other gate unit to apply real pressure.

So map discussion done, in the game, you basically did not warped any unit at all. Your warp tech timing must be decent to face any T strong pressure. Either 2rax, hellion-marauder, etc. The mine just added the new spicy burrow stuff, but with msc available, it should pretty similar to proxy hellion-marauder pressure.
With the proper wg timing, you can get the buffer for the 1st missile (sending a probe should be good choice). Also, before that 1st warp in, you can send a probe to recieve the missile and use the msc to clear the marines.
And you need the detection from Msc to hold that, for sure.
