Hi,
My father likes to do 4v4 computers (him and 3 comps vs 4 comps) on custom games and he likes them on "hard" setting. However, everytime he starts a game, he must change all difficulty levels from medium to hard.
Is there a way to change the default difficulty setting for computers ? (ex: having "hard" by default instead of "medium").

What you can do is start a game and save it immediately. (Yes, it sounds silly). You can now always start the game just by loading the save. What's more, after loading, the menu magically includes a "restart" button that somehow is not there if you created the game from scratch, so if you set the computer's races to random and you don't want to get the same spawns each time, you can just restart the game.
You would have to create a save for every map you want to play on, though.

There is no method, you just have to suck it up and do it each time.

I believe you have to set it each time... But Shoop's method sounds logic.

Blizz is awesome... everyone who did the 1v1 AI stuff knows it.
I also hate that it doesn't have the last played map selected per default.

well you see features like changing defaults and last played map are features that add value to the user.
They are not however features that make blizzard money ....

And here we are again with the blizard = money grabbing bastards innuendo.

Is it really that hard to click 2 times? just click the AI difficulty button up it takes 2 clicks to place the difficulty ... i mean i don't get why they would need a "default setting" for this option(they do its the current medium setting).. seems to me as a waste of time for the game developers to bother making something like this.

Stop insulting a guy that's just asking a question. Why shouldn't Blizzard look to improve their user interface? "Seems like a waste of time..." It takes an incredibly small fix, they've had it in other games, it'll probably take one guy one hour to fix. What if in sc2, it didn't save your mouse sensitivity and game speed? SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF TIME TO PROGRAM IN SOME OPTIONS AND DEFAULTS .......
What if you want to practice openings on a specific map against a specific race 100 times? Something like this could be convenient you ass holes. Be more helpful.
They don't have it in the game yet, I'm sure if you spam their contact email Blizzard will get around to it eventually. iirc warcraft 3 had your last map opened as the default, but nothing with the races yet etc.
For now, you just have to grind it out and change them manually.

@aeneous: I agree for the most part, it would be easy for blizzard to fix this, but note that my tip in the second post actually works, so you don't have to "grind it out and change them manually".
