Hello TL, so when I'm not in the mood for laddering, or playing 1v1 in the custom, I guess my OCD just kicks in or something, and I feel like I want to get all the achievements. Co-op achievements should be easy to get, right? Well you'd think they are, but when playing with random people, they do a some really weird things... Rushing with 1 base carrier, and all that fun stuff, and vs insane ai's, that's a nono.
So I feel like there is a need for this thread, for people who want to get the co-op achievements, just post your id and your 3 digit # so we can find good, friendly, & mature people to do co-op with.

This guide guarantees you the fastest wins, by no means is it the safest and easiest, but you will get the fastest wins. If both players have all enemy probes or workers running around, one of the people in party will leave (if it's after the 5:00 mark) and the computers will both type out.
Protoss The easy way to do it is with a cannon rush (10 pylon, 10 forge). Send the probe that returns the first set of minerals to their base, and build a pylon on the bottom of their ramp, at 100 minerals build a pylon on the highground, and cancel it when it's about to die. Make a forge, after the forge, another pylon on the highground, cancel it when they arrive, make a cannon the bottom of the ledge, once it finishes place a cannon (or a pylon if your cannon is well protected) and advance farther, once you reach their mineral line you have won. Make sure you don't go slow because they can mass up a marauder ball quickly, no other real tips here.
The other, in my opinion better build (double 10 gate), because it works on maps where their ledge is far away from their main. Pull your first probe that returns cargo, make a pylon on low ground right near his base, followed by the pylon on top of his ramp, after you cancel it, make a gateway, then another pylon on the top of the ramp, after canceling that one make your second gateway, and your second pylon to support more supply, and start chronoboosting your zealots out, engage when you have three. Use the rest to kill the one zealot that will come out, and you are done. This build works so well that there is no real advice, just make sure you are pylon harassing him, as it makes a huge difference.
Race specifically, don't do the cannon rush against zerg, the double 10 gateway build kills everything, regadless of positions.
Zerg Zerg does the same build against every single race. The first drone that returns cargo goes to your opponents base to gas steal, make a spawning pool at 7. Keep stealing the gas, and cancelling it over and over, however be very careful if you have a terran opponent on a map where the two bases are together, as workers will attack his SCV building, so cancel earlier than you usually do, or you'll make someone not-so-happy! When the spawning pool is making, create an overlord, and when your spawning pool finishes you should have just about 150 minerals for the zerglings.
Keep constant zergling production and start killing your opponents base. I don't like engaging your opponents workers directly, rather target their pylon/depot, which will make them pull their scvs, pull back when they arrive, or pick some off if they come in small numbers. Engage their workers when they have no army, and you have 10 (12 if your harass sucked) zerglings. Zerg is really easy to do, so the end was mostly trying to maximize the best time.
Quick tips againsts specific races. Againsts zerg, snipe their spawning pool right away, before engaging anything. Also remember you have a drone in their base to make a spine crawler. Againsts terran keep a few lings near their barracks to kill the marines right away.
Terran Terran. Without a doubt the hardest race to rush with. Well all yours builds should start the same. Make SCVs till 8 supply, when you have 50 minerals and your 8th SCV is building (give or take a bit depending on the map), take one SCV to your opponents base, in meantime, make a supply depot in your base. Also send another SCV to their base after your depot is building and you have 75 minerals~. Make a depot on their highground, and cancel it when the opponents workers arrive, make a barracks with that SCV right after (next to ramp, duh). The next SCV will arrive shortly, and now do the depot harass with this one, follow it up with a second barracks. The barracks are both made at 8 supply. Once your first barracks finishes, do one last depot harass. Now marine micro takes over.
Dealing with zerg is probably the easiest terran match up. Their first attack unit is a queen, and a while later comes some roaches. You don't need a bunker or anything, just keep engaging the drones which will make them come to you, then pull back without taking damage. The queen comes out when you have 4 marines, and the 5th on it's way, and by pulling the hurt marine back you shouldn't lose anything. And with that just keep killing drones, once you have maybe 8 marines roaches will hatch 1 by 1, and you win.
I've been playing with lots of random people for co-op, and wow, nobody can do TvT, while it really isn't that hard, just follow the same process as TvZ, and keep the damaged marines back, no bunkers or anything.
Now TvP is probably the hardest, after you do the depot harass 3 times, make your first marine, and a bunker on the low ground. He will have no zealots while you only have two marines. So simply keep attacking a pylon to seduce the probes, and make them waste more mining time. When the first zealot arrives, flee to the bunker, he will chase you, and kill him, once hes dead youll have 4 marines, almost 5, and another zealot will be there to greet you. 4 marines vs 1 zealot micro shouldn't be too bad, and your marine force will keep building up till sending zealots one by one is useless and you are free to go for his mineral line without any retaliation. However, there is a difficult situation on 2 maps in the map pool, their base is really far away from the ramp, and you can't lure them into the bunker. Now without a bunker, it's next to impossible to beat them, so I recommend you switch opponents with your allies, unless he's also terran (LOL). What you can do in that scenario though... I don't have a exact time, but after a while, their probes stop attacking structures within their base, so at maybe 4:30 you can sneak an SCV in and build a bunker in their base. Keep running your marines around until the bunker finishes then run inside, also a good idea is to bring your other SCV to repair as they do sometimes pull their probes to attacked the finished bunker.

Awesome I have the same problem. The empty achievement pictures mock me T__T. Looking to get the 15 win streak for 2v2 and 3v3 as well as some of the others. Mostly i've been canon rushing, but I'm open to suggestions.

Well the cannon rush still works, you do have to start outside of your opponents base with the cannons, but it is pretty much a guaranteed win, takes longer than before the patch.
The 6 pool is very easy vs terran, vs zerg is requires a bit of micro and is somewhat difficult vs many of their openings... And vs toss, oh god, either if you get the toss, switch opponents with your partner, and if their both toss, just leave. You can do a gas steal to win, but in will screw you over in pvz and pvt.
As terran, 2 rax marine is an easy win vs terran (double 8 rax)... Against zerg you simply need to micro like Foxer to kill the lings and drones, kill him before he gets roaches, or you can bunker creep but that's really slow. Against protoss, it depends on the map but you have to do a slow bunker push, but you need to do it fast, which is hard to do, so you need to find places where you can skip bunkers and they wont attack you.

Well by rushing the only way I can ever win is, I have to be close to them, and when fighting their zealots, let the zergling take two shots, move back, and well if you don't have enxt to perfect micro you will lose. Yes, 2rax in TvT does work, just make sure to keep damaged marines back. You can practice a couple strategies in 1v1 vs insane AI to get the feel of them, as well as the timings down.

they do count downwards... so technically you just have to do 250 on insane and you would get the 250 also for very hard, hard and medium

i did some coop achivement back then when we can cheese way easier get bored really quick made me give up but now i cant do with the new patch (there is no reason to play standard game with insane ai anyway). just ask me if you need a partner in eu!

My character code says 1375, so i am fairly positive it is 4 digits, and I am aware that its more efficient to beat insane and get the achievements for the lower difficulties, I just need the 15 streak for the hard co-op to be complete, and I will def. need some help with very hard and up because no one I play with can beat hard consistently. This was my first post on TL and now I'm shaken, I thought this was a thread criticism free, being co-op and all.... geeze, .......still love you tho

Nice guide there. Definitely 2 gate with pylon harass is the easiest way to go. Zerg is easy also - with gas steal. For 2v2 the only minor problem is when you are both terran. But a good executed bunker rush works pretty easy.

Thanks! Umm how different is it from a 2v2 all Terran? Because if they all have a different base, you can double 8 rax with the depot harass, and just micro vs terran and zerg. For protoss just make a bunker and well, shouldn't be bad.
If they're in one base, it makes the harassing things a little easier and if your both being agressive, you'll never get teamed on, unless there's something I'm completely missing, I'll try 3 Terran out though, thanks ^^

To be totally honest, Im not completely sure. In your match history it will count it as a win, but when you look in your achievements, you don't get any extra wins. So it very possibly might break the streak, however I finished those very early, so there's no way for me to test... I guess if that happened to you though...

I have a suggestion for your tactics. At least till last patch the ai had a giant weakness, abusable on every single 2v2 map. When you play T or P and go cannon/bunker, the moment your defense on low ground stands you are free to build anywhere in their base as logn as they don´t have a fighting unit already. Easy with cannons, as you can simply put 3 cannons in their minerals, on some maps it even works against zerg. If it doesnt work vZ, cannon up the edge of creep and build gateway right away, pull roaches into the cannons and you still win, its just a bit slower.
With T it is very hard to get a high ground bunker up near minerals as pulling workers is much harder. You can pull units to your bunker by popping out a marine and put him back in when enemies are in bunker range. I don´t give any guarantees for the T play, as the worker pull is most needed and hardest to do.

I don´t give any guarantees for the T play, as the worker pull is most needed and hardest to do.
While your strategies are fine and they will get you a win, they are slower than the ones listed in he guide. Every single match up if using the guide will be a 5 minute victory or sooner, Z + P is possible to do in 4:20 actually but you still have to wait it out, the only exception to that is TvP on a couple maps which can take 5:15.
With your tactics the cannon if done just about perfectly still takes 5:30 seconds, and making cannons and then gateways vs zerg is 7-8 minutes, which is quite a large difference. As terran, you don't need bunkers, except vs protoss, which can be kept on the low ground. I'm not saying your tactics are bad, use them if they work for you, but I promise they are slower than the ones mentioned, as I played with lots of different people.
I propose we create a custom chat channel for this. I have one named "TL Coop". If everyone just joins that, we will have a single place to meet up whenever you are online.

Yep, the channel feature would be helpful no doubt, just remember, I dont think many people will stay in a channel for 30 minutes waiting for a person to come, but just adding the person and asking them when they're online seems easier, hoewever it's worth a shot to make one and see how it goes.

To save an SCV from raging crowd, I am starting a depot, building it to approximately two squares of health bar and run the SCV away. But if enemy minerals are close, workers still spot the SCV and pursue, so I have to watch both SCV and the depot. Is this the best way, or am I overlooking something?

Build depot, when their workers reach your vision, or little sooner if you can estimate a time halt construction. Run SCV away, some will attack depot some will chase your SCV. Run your SCV away and cancel depot when it's about to die which will make their workers retreat. It isn't very difficult, however if you don't feel comoftable with it, cancel right when their SCVs get there I guess, but then you aren't maximazing their lost mining time.

This isn't a personal knock to you - Just something I have noticed. I have played co-ops with a bunch of people from this thread and I can say that unless you can beat the AI in 5-6 mins (which is how long it takes me... and should take you) we wont be playing many games. Because there really isn't much of an excuse for it taking longer. If you read the strats in the first post and have an apm than about 40 - you can execute them perfectly.
I leave the games at 5 mins - which is when you can to get credit and my person always ggs. If the other person has to stay in the game for a few more mins to get theirs to gg, I will give tips for another game or 2, but if you dont make improvement its not worth my time.
TL:DR - Know how to beat a computer in 5 mins or it will be hard to find a partner to stick with you for lots of games.

this 2 gate rush doesnt work for me. i fought against P-AI twice. I harrassed even after making my 2 gates, while producing my first zealot. But when i have got 3 zelots, the AI will have 3 Gates and 2-3 zealots and a ton of zealots in no time.

I just saw a video on youtube 1vs1 2gate rush. he didnt do any pylon harrassing and build gateways next to HIS ramp and not enemy ramp. could that be the problem? That i build to near, to enemy base? Because in this video the AI just builds gate+core and not 3 gates to counter the rush. Could i have a replay from you doing this 2 gate rush?
That build is terrible... Like wow, he took too long, he expanded, took his gas, made a cyber core, just no. Build right next to his ramp... I'll make a replay and quickly show you.
You attack when you have 3 zealots, pull back a little till your next two come and you should win with that push... I'll have a replay in 10 minutes, so hold on.
A PvP on jungle basin (so slightly longer rush distance)... 0 units lost. Not that hard =3
By no means is this replay flawless, you can place a 4th pylon when your first zealot is building. But if you are winning so easily, there is no need for absolute perfections as this cuts it.

Another edit. I've managed to beat both protoss and terran on occasion as terran (I actually have better luck at beating protoss than terran, assuming the P don't do a stalker rush which seems to happen about 25% of the time), but I'm really struggling against zerg. I can't seem to harass zerg enough before the roaches come out. By the time I have 4 marines and can kill the queen they generally have another queen and multiple roaches very soon after that.

I wouldn't waste any time on medium and (very)hard since you'll get those automaticly when you play on insane.
